    The Tarpon weighed about 80lbs and the fight time was 29 minutes. When filming the ending to the video another Big Tarpon hit and we got some slow motion footage of my wife trying to pull the rod out of the pvc pipe before the Tarpon got off!!

    The giant pyramid sinker must be banging the crap out of the tarpons head and eyes.

    • @koreanfishingwife8766
      @koreanfishingwife8766  3 года назад

      I use very heavy 200lb to 300lb sinker clips on my Shark rigs so the Sharks head shaking doesn't straighten out the clip. The Tarpons head shakes were so violent that it actually snapped the loop on the 6oz sinker!

      Korean Fishing Wife your ratio for catching sharks seems pretty good. Do you always hook up when you go fish or just every know and then?

    • @koreanfishingwife8766
      @koreanfishingwife8766  4 года назад

      This year the sharks seem to be out there!! If you can hook up with a big blacktip every other trip you are doing good!!

    Could you show us how you clean the reel or your maintenance technics

    • @koreanfishingwife8766
      @koreanfishingwife8766  3 года назад

      Since I don’t let my reels get splashed and definitely not dunked!! I basically just thoroughly rinse the line roller but if the reel gets the saltwater film from the mist or wind I will lightly rinse the reel. Probably 75% of the time all I do is rinse the line roller, The BG reels have a very good Finish! Thanks for Watching!!

      Glad you like the videos 😀 my wife wore a gopro on a chest mount when she caught her 100lb Blacktip Shark which is on the channel. the shark took over 125yds of line and with her chest mount and the loud drag clicker on our Fin-nor 5500 it was some pretty good footage!!

    What size line and leader setup do you use? I also wanted to ask, if you would recommend doing that type of fishing weekly with the bg or to choose another reel? Trying to get in to tarpon and shark fishing

    • @koreanfishingwife8766
      @koreanfishingwife8766  4 года назад +4

      I did make a video on how I make my shark leaders. Which use 3-5ft 480lb cable with 7ft+ of twisted mono, mostly 60lb and I also use some lighter shark setups during bluefish season with 80-100lb single strand mono with a FG knot. We have 7 shark reels and I did make a video about how they are set up and how we use them. The BG 8000 on sale for around $100 would be my #1 choice for surf shark fishing and I have 2 of them. While the 60lb Seaguar hollow core braid on the BG 8000 in this video is very good line. The line twist easily on spinning reels, Our 2nd BG 8000 has 65lb sufix 832 braid. Which is very good line that I would recommend. Just do not let the BG 8000 get splashed or Dunked and it is a very good reel!! If you have any questions you can ask me, My answers can get long sometimes!! Thanks for Watching!!

      Korean Fishing Wife I saw one of your videos today that had the finor and the BG 8000. Not sure I spelled that right anyway I would like to C how you make the leaders especially the twisted mono and how you connect it. Would you mind sending me a link to that video? I’m new at Setting up for this, fishing. I’ve just been used to regular surf fishing so some of the knots. I’m not quite familiar with but I do want to learn!! Thank you so much I’m moving to The North Carolina coast in a couple of weeks. I caught a hammerhead a couple years back on 20 pound test he was about 3 1/2 foot ever since then I wanted to do more big fishing

      On our Channel we have a (SHARK FISHING TIPS) Playlist with 7 videos in it that you can checkout. IMO the best shark rigs to start with is the Texas Tackle 6ft shark rigs, Try to get the circle hook ones!! (Google search it) Also Academy Sports sells the Tsunami 6ft shark rigs both rigs are around $7 just make sure you get the Tsunami one that has the sliding sinker clip. You can tie straight to the swivel and the 6ft leaders will catch all 4ft sharks and most of your 4-5ft sharks and would give you at least a chance to catch some blacktips around 6ft? What bigger surf rods and reels are you using right now?

    • @sturgis97
      @sturgis97 4 года назад

      Korean Fishing Wife I’m using a 15ft heavy duty ugly stick and a 7 ft heavy ugly stick for pier or boat use and just ordered a second bg 8000. I have 65 lb braid with mono backing probably around 400 yards total
