Carl Weathers was signing autographs after the first Rocky and someone was coming towards him saying, you're not Apollo Creed I'm Apollo Creed. And it was Mohomad Ali. He said Ali loved the movie.

@@mohammedashian8094 oh yeah. Carl Weathers said, he'd never met Ali before so when he was coming towards him saying that it scared the crap outta him. But, he was being Ali and loved getting to meet him.

Ali was a huge Rocky fan. So much so that he let them shoot at his house as Rocky's mansion in "Rocky III" and "IV."

The burn barrel singer, both here and in Rocky 1, is Frank Stallone, Sly's brother. He did songs for many of Sylvester's movies and would score a top 10 hit on the "Staying Alive" Soundtrack a few years after this.

The best line in this movie is when Rocky asks Adrienne "what are you doing for next 40 or 50 years, if you wouldn't mind marrying to much?" When you watch all of Rocky movies including the two Creed movies, you realize how love Rocky has not just for Adrienne but everyone around him. If you listen close to the priest he calls Adrienne by her real name Adrianna, my daughter's name.

Adrienne gets me twice in this: the way she backs Rocky up when he's getting yelled at by the commercial director, and her delivery to Paulie of "If he goes blind you can walk away, I can't! I love him, you don't!!"

    • @td811
      @td811 8 месяцев назад +1

Except Paulie does love Rocky. He is his best friend and Brother in Law. He facilitated Rocky and Adrian getting together. And he’s looking out for Rocky now. He is right about Adrian not being on board messing up Rocky’s mind and focus. Everyone loves when Adrian wakes up and says “ Win!”
Which is her getting on board finally. Paulie didn’t cause the coma. The Dr said stress and overwork. Paulie told her what she needed to hear and she got worked up. Everyone says Paulie is mean and rough. Sure he is. But Rocky was being all calm and reasonable with her in their talks and she wasn’t hearing it or having it. She wakes from the coma and he’s telling her he will bow out of the fight.

The best thing about this movie is it’s like a rubber band where the tension is pulled and pulled really slow for the 3rd of the movie until the rubber band is stretched it and when she comes out of the coma just gets releases and a load of emotions come out . Very thorough movie on character building . Underrated film should’ve at least been nominated .

This is my favorite film franchise of all time. There's nothing else quite like it where you can watch the lives of fictional characters in multiple films from 1976 all the way to 2018. From six Rocky films and the two Creed films, I feel like every one is worth a watch. Five is the only one that many consider weak, but even it has its moments, while the rest are all fantastic.

Pauly is the key to this movie. He made Adrian understand that she wasn’t protecting Rocky, she was making the fight much more dangerous for him. If Rocky had faced Apollo half heartedly he would have been permanently injured or worse. Pauly made Adrian understand that the best way she could protect Rocky, was for her to support and encourage him.

The first two are special for sure, but all of them are entertaining and enjoyable with little nuggets of wisdom thrown in. Apollo is in III & IV as well, so you can look forward to more of Carl Weathers. My favorite of the whole series though is the last one, #6, called Balboa. That one is special as well. I think it's unfair to call Apollo selfish or self-centered. The story isn't about him, so we don't see much of his private life. We only get a couple scenes. And he's dealing with heavy issues the same as Rocky. Apollo is not only being plagued by self doubt, but it's being compounded by everyone...boxing fans, sportswriters saying he's no good. Getting hate mail, death threats...his kids getting bullied at school. Even his own trainers and advisors don't want him to fight Rocky again because they think he might lose. He needs to prove that it was a fluke just as much as Rocky needs to prove that it WASN'T a fluke.

    • @bghoody5665

Yes, pro athletes- especially those with a championship pedigree, have incredible competitiveness. Anyone questioning who they are and what they've accomplished really hurts. You can see that in Creed. It was really just dumb bad luck for him that he picked - out of a hat - probably the only club fighter who could come out of nowhere and cause him problems.

I think another reason she knew she had to tell him to win is that Pauly (and Mick) was right in that if he went in there without the right attitude, he could get hurt or killed. I think she knew that if he was going to fight, he needed to be at the top of his game and the only way for that to happen was for her to give him her full support. Rocky will do ANYTHING for her, and she knew if she told him to win then not only would he not get destroyed he’d probably actually win the match. It’s like Miyagi said: karate do yes, safe. Karate do no: safe. Karate do: “guess so”, squish like grape. :D

So it was Halarious watching these gentlemen scream and yell like it was a real fight! the Best was when they would wonder how Rocky was getting it done, I would calm advise that "it was in the script!" Burgess Meredith (Micky) had an impressive acting career that went from the 1930s into the 1990s. I'd be interested in seeing your reaction to his and Lon Chaney Jr.'s performances in 1939 film adaptation of John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men." I've seen comments on an iconic scene from the movie on RUclips, and I'm rather surprised by the take some modern viewers have on the characters.

These films are magnificent works of art and a cinematic national treasure for generations to come. RIP to the great Carl Weathers, Apollo Creed! Some Rocky facts! Pauly was only 34-35 when he started rocky, so he was only like 5 years older than Stallone! when he started this series
U really should watch any documentary on how this got made!! Broke, almost homeless, sold his dog...for real!😮...wrote the script in 3 weeks. Was asked big money(back then) to sell it, but not star in it. He always said no. Finally sold it for 30k to ABC TV. He was good friends with and done a movie a few years prior, with Henry Winkler. He became THE STAR of😊 abc tv in the show Happy Days, as the Fonz. He heard Stallone sold the script to ABC. Henry goes to the ABC heads and says, u don't GIVE me that script, I leave the show....they gave it to him! Stallone never made a ton of money on the rockymovies. Only as a writer actor choreographer. He got ripped off by the first producer, who bought the rights and rocky name, and never sold it back to Stallone, though he's made billions! Based on a real tune up fight, for Ali. He was going to fight Frazier later in the year, for the title, but he wanted a tune-up fight. He fought against Chuck Wepner, a journeyman tomato can bleeder, who was good, but never top 10 ranked. And he damn near knocked Ali out!😮 The guy singing outside, is his real brother Frank!😮 The first guy he fights in this movie, Spider, shows up in Rocky Balboa or Creed! The teenage girl he talks to, also comes back in one of those movies! Adrian is the sister in godfather!😮😮😮😮 Gazzo, his boss, also in godfather 1-2! Stallone almost died in 4, because Drago, actually cracked his ribs, puntured a lung, punctured his heart sac! Drago in real life, has multiple masters PhD in engineering! The blonde wife of Drago, shows up in Creed 2 and so does Drago, and Stallone actually married that woman, and had beautiful daughters with her! Tommy Morrison in part 5 was a real boxer and could have been the greatest ever, but drugs and booze got him. In 3 Clubber got the role, by winning a Tough man contest! In 3 hulk Hogan, hit Stallone for real in the back of his shoulders with his forearm, and moved vertebrae. Dennis Quaid did a amateur tough guy boxing movie, kind of based on the Clubber Lang actor, that was very good, called Tough Enough! and busted his lip open! There was never going to be a 2, but this movie made so much money, win Oscars, etc., Stallone wrote a sequel! When he was accepting an Oscar for this movie on stage, Ali comes up, grabs him, fakes punches at him and says, "u stole this movie idea from me!" Paulie has done a couple other great movies, Rob the Mob, and Pope of Greenich Village! Adrian is part of the Coppola family.... Francis Ford, Nick Cage, Sophia Coppola... maybe her daughter! What 1 and 2 are really, the ultimate love story! U can go see the Rocky statue in Philly! The mistake of colors he's wearing, in the auditorium, was due to a mistake and money problems, so they kept it in, and had the dialogue reflect this! Watch all but u can skip 5, finish the Rocky series, then go to Creed! The Great fight ever... middleweight Ray...boom boom Mancini vs Duk ku Kim,... outdoors, Caesars palace. Outdoors. Went the distance. Slug fest. Kim died in the ring. He fought the last round with a busted blood vessel in his brain. Fights went to twelve after that.
Cinderella Man is a great True story movie about a depression Era boxer!

I love your channel..I hope that your next executive decision is to just watch the next 4 Rocky franchise movies and at least the first two Creed movies..
Though some are better than others, of course, they all tie together and you will not regret it...Thx!❤️

Apollo Creed's character was based loosely on Muhammad Ali, who did many of the same things taunted his opponents in the ring and was very controversial. But you watch the next Rocky 3 you will see some more depth added to his character.

Rocky 2 is a great movie, actually Quentin Tarantino favorite movie of all time. In my top 3

All of the sequels are great movies with the exception of 5. However, I personally think Rocky Balboa (6) might be the best sequel of the bunch.

Wanna know why Rocky won? It was the body shots. Creed had no core strength at then end needed to stand up. Creed was head hunting, so while Rocky’s bell was rung AF, he still had his core.

No sé si ya reaccionaste a la película de "Los Diez Mandamientos" de 1956 pero si aún no lo has hecho te la recomiendo, es muy buena 👌 saludos 🙂

Madison you should check out Stallone's most under rated role ever COPLAND and his cult film OVER THE TOP

Yes, Stallone could cry up a storm, probably one of the best men to cry. You want to see more, Rocky 3 and First Blood. You think crying in Rocky 2 was WOW, you haven't seen Rocky 3 or First Blood yet.
The second best crier has to be Mel Gibson. Ransom directed by Ron Howard also with Gary Sinise and Rene Russo is another with one heck of a Mel Gibson cry scene for the books.

If you're planning on watching the rest of the franchise (which you should), and considering that there are currently nine films if you include the three Creeds (which you should), maybe make the executive decision to do the next one after maybe a couple or three months if they continue not to win polls. You know, so we aren't waiting until 2040-something to get caught up. Just saying. 😀

Don’t wait. Get on with the franchise. It’s your channel, make those executive decisions-lol.
