A big thank you to Shelley Prior for this thorough and methodical demonstration of essential skills. I agree with other reviewers that this was one of the most instructive videos I’ve watched. I will be following Shelley on her RUclips channel and look forward to learning more. Eric, a big thank you to you for featuring so many wonderful watercolour artists over the past couple of years. I watch and re-watch many of the lessons and enjoy painting along.

Thank you Shelley. I live in Daytona Beach. We have a huge art community here, but I have been unable to take watercolor lessons that start with the basics. This has helped a lot ❤

Hi from Chicagoland. This is one of the BEST videos I have seen on your channel. Shelley is a great instructor. I should know; I used to be a trainer! Her instructions/explanations were clear and concise. Other videos I've seen on this topic include a statement like, "Make sure your paintbrush isn't too wet". I was never clear about what that really meant. I can't wait to try this exercise for all of my colors. The more I do, the better I get. Thanks so much!

Layers and contrasts. Snuck in that red and green compliment with rusty hinge and green background. It took me a couple tries to do a graded wash without leaving a hard edge.
