    I loved how Luis's AI in RE4 OG and honestly wish Sheva's AI was like that(I know they couldn't do that as she's a playable character, but still). Luis ducks under your laser and throws you equipment and is very proactive in combat. I can't really say that for Mike as for some reason on the hardest difficulty he doesn't help you and sometime just shot at me at one point.

    You'd hope that after the troubled development of RE Village and 4 remilk, New Capcom would alter their approach to game development. While I appreciate their transparency, the documentaries highlight an inherent issue with the company, exacerbated by clueless and careless developers.

    • @idi-jq6cj
      @idi-jq6cj 2 месяца назад +4

      Remember that Capcom’s sales were doing so well in 2023 that they raised the salaries for their employees. I’m happy for them, but I just wish that this result occurred while still making the quality of their recent RE titles good. There’s no telling what the inherent issue is, but I don’t want to believe it’s due to cluelessness or carelessness.

    • @idi-jq6cj
      @idi-jq6cj 2 месяца назад +2

      Also, I don’t think RE4 Remilk had troubled development.

    • @idi-jq6cj
      @idi-jq6cj 2 месяца назад +3

      And you can excuse RE Village's development because of COVID, even if there are dumb decisions like with those two Moroaica in Bela's encounter.

    • @ItalicMaze
      @ItalicMaze 2 месяца назад +2

      I don't think all the developers are an issue, and some were quite vocal about the issues that cropped up a month before 4 remilk's release. Even then, said developers ultimately agreed that the pre-alpha was ready, presumably due to burnout from nonstop troubleshooting and the nearing deadline. While the directors claimed otherwise, I suspect the remilk had a troubled development throughout, but maybe I'm being too cynical. I remember reading about the pay rise and thinking the same.

    The cabin in remake just crams the broken combat into a confined space, which is about as disastrous as you can imagine, especially when enemies are constantly making Leon flinch just by coming into contact with him. Infuriating nonsense, which to be fair is remake's "speciality". In the og it's a tense encounter, in the remake it's pure annoyance.

    I don't get why ppl think Remake has improved story. Like, have played the same game? Drown-out scenes and reddit-zoomer dialogue doesn't mean deeper or better.
    New dialogue seems as if written by ppl that have never read a book in their lives.
    And Ashley is the worst. Enemies behaving around her is buggy and just immersion-breaking.
    And on my first playthrough, I managed to leave Ashley in the villiage while I was exploring the mill area for the second time, right before the cabin scene. Oh, the 15minutes of peace... I couldn't replicate it ever since, but I'll never forget it, how that bug gave me relief... She was screaming: "Don't leave me!", but I pressed on. The game didn't care, I got the cutscene anyway.
    The quarry section pissed me off. I never buy the first rifle and I found the Molotov Ganados always spotted me. The Ganado getting in the bear trap is probably a proof that they added things as they went, in gameplay mechanics and in level design. They prolly just missed it, honestly.
    Luis's "Gametime" OG quote sounded better because of overall tone of the game, I think. There's much less irony and "Don't forget, this mob is made out of monsters" 60IQ dialogue. OG plays it straight, Remake makes it so insufferably insincere/insecure/sarcastic modern mindset.
    You believe Luis & Leon can die in the OG, in the remake, you can never forget that it's a game.
    + the aggressive drums in the OG soundtrack 👌
    "But Ashley is a better character, she helps more" - Why?! Why does a president's daughter have to help Secret Service agents do their job?! That just makes Leon look incompetent. She is supposed to listen to the trained personnel's instructions. Her job is to be presentable. That's her function. She's a symbol. Agents are supposed to protect her, even at the cost of their own lives. If she dies, her whole country suffers. She cannot get hurt. This is more than "I'm a strong, independent woman" or "I am more than my position" - no, you're not. It's about more than your sense of pride or self-worth, this is about the reputation and security of your whole nation! 300mln ppl are depending on your survival! What if news goes around that you can just kidnap members of the president's family?! Do you understand how vulnerable your country would look?! How much more emboldened foreign superpowers would be?! It can even encourage financed from abroad terrorist attacks on your citizens! I felt that OG Ashley had that duty and "know my role" attitude down better. You could believe she was briefed on those kind of kidnapping situations. She was trained and her head wasn't too big to listen to profesionals. Remake Ashley is like "We're gonna go on adventures together, Leon". No, honey, you won't. And that's all right. Leon gets paid to shoot bad people, you get paid to visit orphanages and elementary schools. And that's important too. You don't have to be an action hero to make meaningful changes in the world.

      @YouRrightman 2 месяца назад +8

      Perfectly well said. Also what exactly is she helping with? Lol lagging behind? getting caught by enemies more by her dumb ai which takes you out of the experience? Pour 4 shots to an enemies head just to drop her? She’s even more useless than the og. Ppl really dont understand what makes a character “useful” it feels a lot like what you said they made her “useful” in exchange for Leon exceedingly high incompetence which is shown throughout the entire game. Every minute that passes by I kept wishing this version of leon can stay dead. Permanently

    Some things about both RE4 OG and remake:
    * In OG they used central american or south american voice lines for ganados. It was something pretty annoying but it was also pretty funny at the same time. Can't help but laught after hearing those lines one time and again to the point of missing the option of using those old voice lines in the remake. It is a good thing that they finally nailed voice lines in the remake, at least for ganados.
    * In Spain, the euro was introduced in 1999 and pesetas were used until 2002. Pesetas, however, were not gold coins, they were normal coins like those in any other country and they had notes as well.
    * There are many houses in Spain that looks like those appearing in-game but, in general, the village looks like TOO OLD for 2004, even for 1980. It's like going to an amish community.

    • @idi-jq6cj
      @idi-jq6cj 2 месяца назад +4

      You have to remember that the village was forced to adhere to medieval forms of leadership, like with the idea of sovereign rulers, due to the Salazar family. The use of Pesetas instead of euros is also intended to showcase the outdated systems in place. Because of these factors, it’s why the village is presented as TOO OLD.

      With all due respect, they went too hard the other way with the language thing. Now Ganados sound straight as if they were reading from elementary school book in Madrid! The prolonged pronounciation to get all the vovels and consonants right is jarring. Spanish is a quick-paced language!
      They should be bordering on illiterate, since there's no schools around and no civilization present. And their brains are half-eaten by parasites! Colloqiual terms and a fluent, though sometimes not proper pronounciation gives it a living feeling.
      And Ganados always acurately switching between "Get him!" and "Get them!" grinds my gears. It's not how ppl speak!
