Just so people understand, the people calling about the lights is a scam. Power companies in certain areas actually just deliver boxes of more energy efficient lights in certain areas, well at least mine. They don’t call about it, most of the time. When they do, it is a local representative. In some towns, you can go to the power, or power and water department and request them. They also send them out when houses change hands or a new name gets put on the power bill.
..... wait... so youre saying I CAN get my lights changed, by the government, for free - and it'll also cost me LESS each month on my electric bill?
Where's the catch? Why would they ever do that? From a business perspective, that is NOT beneficial in any way. And not even the government gives away shit for free - even though its basically OUR tax dollars. Free shit means YOU are the product.
