I've had a chance to go see one of these at an auto show and I have to say, looks a lot better in person. It's grown on me a lot.
You mean like the ugly chick that gets prettier with every sip. There will be a time when you are back to sobre though.
Say whatever you want and criticize all you want, but nobody and I mean nobody is making cars as visually stimulating as Hyundai and Kia are right now!
And genesis
Yeah, stimulating not in a good way
You gotta be joking OP…
@Brian Lee yup!
@@rachaad absolutely 💯
The N74 concept (hydrogen) and the Ionic 6 N are two totally different cars.
I see my beloved Citroën's C4 and C5 DNA in this car. Looks very French to me.
Not related to this video but can u explain y most the new electric cars have thick black panels? Like the Toyota bz4 for example
While I don't like EVS this car is good looking
You mean Nissan 350Z right? Not Datsun/Nissan 240Z, it's a revised version of the 350Z, Audi TT, Porsche lines, and in definitive a cheesed EV like all the Teslas (current on the market) of course the Cyber Truck is a different beast.
Yep the six all the way. Just wish it was a hatch but
Gives me CLS63 AMG vibes
Another example of a manufacturer not understanding their own design line. There is the Ioniq 5 - which is stunning, hiding its own size, and it’s consistent, front to back and top to bottom. Boxy design all the way to the squares in the LED pixel lights. It just all fits. Now comes the 6 - which, ugly as it is, does not show any of that consistency. Sharp here, round there, an assembly of disconnected design details. Copycat car of a Mercedes CLS… Arbitrary design of Korean cars of the 1980s…
completely agree!
I hate that vehicle's greenhouses are getting smaller due to crash test safety regulations.
You forget the Tesla federal tax credit. Which cheaper than the ioniq 6 base.
In logic, some cars look better in person than in videos and pictures, that's weird.
Ioniq 6 all the way !
I think the Horsepower and the acceleration for both base models is overrated, while it is cool to have more hp and faster acceleration, it is not really important in a usual city drive. While I don't think the Tesla is ugly, the greenhouse is kinda big compared to the rest of the car and especially in the Model Y.
The Ioniq 6 is just beautiful, the exterior is great and especially these Ioniq Pixels on the light, the interior is just wow. The ambient lighting is beatiful as shown in the background of your video. And I think these edges at the end of the dash are there for displays if you have digital mirrors. All in all I would pick the Ioniq 6 although I never seen it in real life, I really want to see it becasue the Ioniq 5 is one of the best looking cars
Wow, such a disappointment! The concept was looking really cool, but this is nowhere near it. At least the back is kind of unique, but the front is a disaster!
If by now you couldn't understand why Concepts can't become production engineering feasible shapes, that's your problem.
Bembli - yet TESLA is OUTSELLING Hyundai EV 11:1 .
Baby Shark have more views than any other song, is it also better song ?
Tesla is proof you don't have to over style cars to be successful in the EV world ... That EV6 is just ugly and Tesla's aren't beautiful either
Man..that thing is awful looking in my opinion
Yes, absolutely horrible design
I wouldn't even take a second look at the Tesla driving past me.. but I'll definitely be admiring every part of the Ioniq! It just has so much presence whether you like it or not
The rear end of this abomination is a copy of old Mercedes Benz S
I look forward to seeing what they're going to do with the Ioniq 6 N. I really hope they come close to the concept.
The ioniq 6 n gives me porsche race car vibes. This electric car represents the direction that Porsche should have been with EVs.
Yes, if they had absolutely horrific and boring taste when it comes to car design. This uglyness on four wheels would bankrupt Porsche. Compare this piece of crap to a Taycan and then ask yourself what is wrong with you.
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726 Bro you need to calm down before trashtalking and says there something wrong with me or anybody else who had a different taste of cars than yours. I'm not talking about design here, i'm just explaining Porsche should take N division's book and make a really exciting perfomance EV with a design that is inspired by their most iconic race car ever to attract their die-hard fans, Dodge did the same thing with the Charger Daytona SRT EV, this concept looks pretty good unless they don't add fake engine noises that sounds like a broken Mac's micro. For me, the ioniq 6 looks better in person than in videos and pictures, but for my taste, I would stick with the Ioniq 5 & N 74 vision for their funky 80s sci fi looks.
@@whynotstartusingyourbrain8726
I gotta give it to Porsche. You definitely get what you pay for. Plus they've successfully figured out how to nickel and dime you for almost every conceivable option you can get on a car. That being said, the Taycan customer and the Ioniq 6 customer are on two entirely different levels.
At 6:18, yes there's one model that has a line like that but ends abruptly at the back, 1st gen Mercedes CLS, also the sharp angle of the tailights. I really would like to see an 'N' version, Hyundai is just on track to give us maybe not the most powerful but quirky, fun, unique designed cars for the future.
2 actually; Ford AU falcon did it first. 🤩
I have to say, I definitely prefer the look of the Hyundai over at the Tesla, and the interior isn't even close. I'm really surprised Tesla has not upped the interior game by now. I guess we'll see how it holds up, but just looking at it, I'd take the Hyundai.
I think the wheel size is already pretty good but I would like to see a little more agressive headlights and front lip and diffusors putting the base from front to back more on the ground. The Ioniq looks planted on the lines but seems lifted up to the air from the lines below.
8:30 once you popped those wheels on it it jumps right out at the whole form makes a lot of sense. Big thin wheels on a car like that make it look real sleek.
what do you think of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ? i feel like the design was very forward thinking, ahead of its time, a lot of cars are starting to look like it 10 years later
Good God, I thought I was the only one that noticed that. 😅
Yesss!!! I own one and I feel like so many cars are starting to look like the mkz especially with the light bar trend
The ioniq 6 is one of the ugliest designs on the road. It looks like an armadillo.
Its a shame as the concept looked so good!
I own a Tesla Model 3 Performance and an ioniq 5 elite (euro spec), bot look way better in my own humble opinion
completely agree!
We all have our own preferences. I love the look of the I6. I also love the Tesla S, like the Y and I think the 3 is pretty boring and stubby. I would drive any of them before I drove an Ioniq 5
With the Ioniq brand, they aren't afraid to make semi-polarizing niche models since they can create something else to appeal to someone else with minimal reengineering. Now we have Ioniq 5 and 6 on the same basic platform, with probably more individual models to come from the same electric platform. While practical and boxy might appeal to someone in the Ioniq 5, I like that they gave the Ioniq 6 a completely different look, unlike the Model 3 and Y. Tesla doesn't seem to have the same ability as legacy/traditional automakers to create more tailored products the same way or redesign them on a regular schedule. It results in nice looking, albeit somewhat predictable and boring cars. Each approach has its pros and cons, and I honestly appreciate both companies. Hyundai/Kia and Tesla are both moving the auto industry forward by breaking the status quo, each in very different ways.
Hate companies like Tesla and Mercedes who make everything look the same.
i've seen this in real life and it looks like it's straight from the future. nice car
9:16 tbh, I think it may be intentional. I think it shows that Tesla isn’t trying to make a performance car. They’re just trying to make a car that puts up big numbers just so it looks good on paper, and when it comes to Tesla and other EVs, the numbers on paper are all that matters
I wonder what performance it really puts on the road. The low amount of hp performance seems more realistic than Tesla's weird specification of hp on their cars. I don't really want to know what an EV Engine can power but rather more, what the Battery can give till it hits too high temps or below 10% battery level.
Personally I am not a fan of this shoulderline. It reminds me of the CLA shooting brake. (First generation) I do agree that Hyundai did a better job.
Hyundai change their design language every 3 weeks. What are you even buying? You've no idea in 3 weeks.
@8:22 The back of this Hyundai looks like catfish lips. I find it incredibly ugly tbh
I don't like the front look. :(
Ioniq 6
Call me crazy, but I see some Saab influence depending on the angle. I love this
Yeah, I see references to several iconic fastback designs: Saab 900s, Citroen DS, and vintage Porsche 911s
I really appreciate what Hyundai/Kia has been trying right their designs and the Ioniq6 looks straight out of a cyberpunk future… however, I can’t understand why there is that black bar slapped across the front of it… looks so out of place and makes the front of the car look old. It doesn’t match the rest of the design at all to my eye.
Thanks for pointing this out. Overall, I like the Ioniq 6 design, but there was something (or a few things) that throw the look slightly off for me. Your comment made me realize that black bar is a big one. I get that it's probably for cameras, sensors, etc., but there has to be a cleaner-looking design/engineering solution. Maybe it will be addressed in a facelift later. Overall, I still like the design and how it feels both futuristic, yet retro with references to old Porsche 911s, the Citroen DS, some other iconic car designs, and the Ioniq brand's 80s pixel references.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 model could also be launched in 2024 as an N High Performance AWD model, where the combined power of the front and rear electric motors would be 1000-1200 horsepower! and the renewed Aero package of the body, which reduces the air resistance of the body by 0.19-0.20...because in the Tesla Model S Plaid the air resistance is 0.20. 🤔
Although I appreciate the time and effort Kia and Hyundai are putting into their cars now, this is just plain ugly! The Ioniq 6 looks like a melting hyena, with a bizarre droopy rear and a strange ‘face’. People love it because they love Hyundai, but this is truly an ugly car. Ioniq 5 looks 10000% better!
More car makers will sell their cars because Tesla is opening their superchargers up with 99.8% uptime as opposed to all other charging networks that cant seem to exceed 60% or so.
Have to disagree, no Telsa looks current, and Hyundai/Kia have been showing that for a number of years now.
I spend à lot of time in my Tesla 3 and the inside is boring , fun to drive but I would go for the Hyundai today
The one thing which Tesla did better with the Model 3 than the Ioniq 6 is have frameless windows. To me frameless doors look that bit more premium like how the new Range Rovers glass is as flush as possible all the way round.
Outside of that the Ioniq 6 looks like it was designed with passion. Like someone who dreamed of a Porsche back on the 80s and finally had the chance to bring their ideas to life.
For Tesla the timeless thing has definitely worked well for the Model S and the Model 3 looks nice but at the same time the cars are a bit vanilla. It will be interesting to see what comes of Tesla design language when all it's cars are in their 2nd generation or if they'll be the new Land Rover Defenders and retain the same design for decades with tech upgrades.
Personally i think they made a knock off version of the first gen mercedes cls.
Is it me or does Ioniq 6 have more design in common with Kia EV6 than Ioniq 5?
Hyundai and kia are literally up and coming
What cars are in your garage now @brembli?
This car looks terrible..
the Ioniq 6 reminds me of an Audi TT. lol
What I’m trying to understand is why their screens are so weird. You can’t play Netflix or RUclips on it. It is an electric car which means you may spend a considerable time charging. You need something to do and bigger screen would come in handy
Who cares until it’s produced and available in volume
Call me when I can.
1 actually order one.
2 get a real delivery date
Imagine if Porsche decide to make a sedan
Oh, wait
When will they build in the US so they can get a rebate.
Absolutely beautiful 😍
So for a extra couple grand you get almost 200 plus extra horsepower? I’m so confused why the base even exist, like i can understand 220 or 250 horses but 140? my Kia Forte has 201 horses and i paid 21k for mine. Anyone else confused, please explain
for advertising purposes
If I had the money to buy an expensive electric car, I'd buy a Tesla S or even a 3. Mercedes, Hyundai, BMW, KIA all these have horrible designs.
Just saying Tesla fanboy was enough. No need to announce uncertified degree to pitch about design judgement. Bembli is here to do that lmao.
Hyundai's biggest problem is in bringing the product to market. They need to ramp up numbers and keep them competitive.
A massive new factory is under construction in Georgia which will add 300,000 EV vehicles a year to their production, opens in 2025.
basically a knockoff of the Mercedes CLA a few years ago.
An ugly knockoff
So a single f* curve is what makes it a knockoff, congrats your logic has reached new heights of absurdity Lmao.
@@changsangma1915 if you would know of what car i am talking about ,which you dont ,you would see it . And are we just going to act like hyundai never stole the design from the euro/usa designers?
tesla still selling a 10yr old car. RIP
Not a big fan of the Ioniq 6, let's say not a fan at all. All these Hyundai's are overrated I think. Ioniq 5 is BIG and clumsy. Yeh it looked cool in the beginning but when you see them on the road, those are tanks. There's nothing elegant with these cars.
You forgot to say unpopular opinions lmao.
Although it is not a bad design, compared to Ioniq 5 or EV6, I consider Ioniq 6 a flop. The concept N is COOL, though. I think the future version of Ioniq 6 should resemble more of the concept N design.
Having said that, he briefly mentions N-74 electric-H2 Fuel cell Hybrid in the video. It is the COOLEST looking car I have ever seen. I wish Hyundai makes a production model for N-74 without changing much.
It's hideous.... like what Robocop thought cars of the future would look like.
I think it's beautiful
agreed OP. Hideous
Yes, hideous!
