The S25 Plus and The S25 Edge are very similar, but the S25 Plus has an extra camera, a bigger battery, and is $100 cheaper. However, the S25 Edge has the magical wow factor and feels better in the hand, and is refreshing. Which should you buy is a difficult decision.

Cheaper, an extra camera, and larger battery. I’ll take the Plus
Yes. Nothing difficult about this at all….
A worse main camera. And the worst design. I'll take the edge. It just depends on the person
Try having a bad wrist. I’ll take the lower weight
Use your other hand so. @derekschommer1465
@AndroidDigest The Edge pixel bins those 200mp into 12mp. So technically there's barely any difference
This comparison highlights to me that the 25+ , is actually a very good option for the majority of S phone fans. Naturally fans gravitate to the ultra phone, but the 25+ is a more comfortable phone in the hand.
wise words
Yeah i just wanted the s pen so bad that I NEVER use it. Smh
S25+ is the Goldilocks of the S phone lineup imo
I will take that into consideration.
I can get the S25 edge or S25+ for free (CA sales tax up front). I have to trade in my S23, so either would be an upgrade. My S23 has had poor battery life, probably because I use it like a TV at home and have it running video way too much. I like the idea of having a lighter/thinner phone when I'm holding it and watching a movie, but the better battery life is a significant factor. The price difference is only about $8 in tax, so its a tough decision. It looks like most people here are recommending the +, which was my initial thought. But I do like the idea of a thinner and lighter phone, as my wrist gets sore sometimes when I hold my phone a long time.
@McCarthyJohn100the S25+ is by no means a heavy phone I think the smart choice based on your usage is the S25+ the battery life will be of more use. I use an phtaka case that's really thin and a magnetic pop socket and holding it for a long time is super easy
@RadCatFood thanks. I always get thin cases too. I hate holding the bulky cases or having them in my pocket. It sounds like the S25+ is better suited for my needs.
@McCarthyJohn100no problem and agreed bulky cases suck but some people really need them lol
@McCarthyJohn100I do the same use my phone instead of TV. I never use my TV or even my tablet but my bad habit is watching videos lying down in bed for hours. In lying down angles, weight ABSOLUTELY matters. I never have the edge but I did have iphone air for a few weeks and man is it nice to have that in bed lying down
Plus for me 👍
I'd pick the 25 plus, for that beautiful blue color
It is a beautiful color
Im actually curious how they got the edge name looks nothing like the older edge phones
Still trying to figure out why this was called Edge and not Slim...
Tech youtuber only talk about what they like and enjoy in their office
-If I ask you yo choose phone for the next 2 years which you'll pick?
-If you have a long connecting flights, which the only phone will you pick?
-If you have a vacation, and you'll leave the hotel for long hours and will need to use the cameras, which you pick?
Buying a phone is like choosing a partner for the upcoming 2-4 years to me and most of people.
That's what bothers me with some of the reviewers haha
We are stuck with our choice for a few years yet some of the talks like we change phone every 6 month
S25 plus is the better phone, the better bang for your buck.
Just got mine today on sale coming from an s24 fe. The difference for me is 🔥
No brainer...
Got the edge 512gb for 1200 cad after tax it was cheaper than ther plus
At the price point, I'd go with the plus.
Yes im ULTRA user since last 4 yrs but this phone is THE phone i was looking for being so thin n light weight.....i dont care about canera and battery BUT carrying this phone in POCKET is SO much easier than carrying that giant ULTRA SLAB .....i really dont care and yes i vote for S25 EDGE
What colors are those?
I have S25 ULTRA so im on the edge of buying S25 EDGE while trading in my S25ULTRA .......i can sacrifice the battery n camera for the sleek thin form factor.......what you suggest
I like that it is so light, like my previous phone (S20). Now I have the S24 Ultra. It is a great phone, but it is too heavy, causing me hand fatigue.
I ‘ve been to my local best buy still no edge display, wish I could experience this 🤨
make a video sony 1vii review
This is exactly what is on my mind right now. Fortunately years of playing with a steamdeck has given me mighty wrists so the extra thinness/less weight doesnt really matter anymore.
The edge vs the plus is a much closer comparison since you essentially trade and camera, some battery, capacity, charging speeds and colors for thinness titanium frame and 200 mp camera.
In person however the edge is quite impressive.
It is so sleek and thin and light.
I would consider an edge even though I prefer smaller phones in general
Choosing the edge is all about form factor, and I’ve got one inbound to replace a six year-old Samsung Galaxy S10+. Weight matters, I’m taking advantage of the miniaturization and anything you carry around full-time you’re gonna notice the weight of or lack thereof. There’s performance comparisons between the edge and all the others of course, but since the unit I’m getting has a half a terabyte of storage on board and is several generations, newer, I expect I’ll be happy with it.
I ordered the edge but then I changed my mind because of the battery and I kept the s25 Plus rightfully so
It was bad?
@thegnomegang6825 yes. Battery bad
Wish there was a 6.3 inch Ultra.
Great comparison, I have to carry a second phone for work, and ended up getting the edge. After all said and done, it was $569 after trade in, and incentives, whereas, the plus was around $630. For a second phone, the edge was an easy pick.
We also need to consider the build materials
The S25 EDGE boasts a titanium chassis, a
200MP main camera (ideal for everyday
shots), and the even tougher Gorilla
Ceramic 2 glass.
Definitively EDGE for me
Aluminum conducts heat faster than titanium.😽
Same, I'm also edging right now.
I don't regret buying the edge. Love it!
Titanium is a more premium metal but it has its drawbacks when it comes to smartphones, which is the main reason Apple is ditching titanium for aluminum on its 17 pro models.
Megapixels don't mean much.
I have an S25+, and in my opinion, it's much better than the Edge. The battery capacity, charging speed, and telephoto lens are all worthwhile, not to mention the lower price.
No doubt
But the worse main camera in the worst design means it's a toss-up and it depends on what you prefer. I would definitely prefer the edge
Not a worst main cam when the images are about the same ...literally 1000 more on the battery, slightly thicker ,and a dedicated extra cam ,and faster charging for less
@Louis-k6e6c why is that ?
they should make only two phones in S series like mini ultra for people who loves compact phones and the original ultra for those who likes bigger phone
I follow a lot of your presentation because you do a good job. In this case it was the same but a bit more difficult to follow because you were comparing two phones and often said this phone compared to this phone and I found it difficult at the end to distinguish the S25 Plus and the S25 Edge. I also like it when you say this is my choice/preference and here are the reasons why....good approach and I encourage you to not set aside that way of doing things!! Thanks again for the very informative videos.. Ed
People often tend to criticize just about everything. While that kind of feedback can drive tech companies to improve, it can also discourage innovation. This situation is a good example-many people today seem unwilling to accept a new approach simply because it’s different from what they want.
This edge phone has a similar appeal as the flip series.
I'm hesitant to get attached to this design. I don't want to run into another iPhone mini situation. Personally, I have the Ultra but wish I didn't have an S pen at all. I could get away with the smaller battery most days, as well. My hang up is honestly the Edge not having an antireflective coating. Not complaining, just giving another perspective. Thanks for the videos!
I actually like the look and build of the edge!!...🔥🔥🔥
It's sexy
@TechOdysseydude , its a girls phone ! Or for guys with small hands .
@oh-yeah1030no
@TechOdysseyi hear you , but for big bucks, i want more than that package. For my granddaughter, ok . But her brother would break it a week. ( bubble wrap n steel reinforced)
@TechOdysseyabsolutely 💯
Samsung came out with the Edge to compete with the iPhone 17 Air!
Thanks. S25+ vs Edge is exactly the comparison I needed. I own a 25+ and like it fine but wish it were lighter and wish it has at least a 5x telephoto. The Edge would be lighter and I’m wondering if the 200 MP cropped to 5x would be as sharp as if it had a telephoto lens. After your review I plan to go touch one and then decide. I’m inclined to stick with my S25+ though, because I only need to charge it every other day.
Nice video
Old English woman listening Adam 😊 xx
Hopefully you enjoy it!
I did 👌🏻@TechOdyssey
I mean you can an s25+ for $850 on Samsung’s website, no trade in! VS $1100 for the Edge? I don’t think so…
I think it's great they did something a little different within the S lineup. For my use case I just can't get past the battery. I also understand this is a first gen device and between the reviewers and the smartphone geekdom and if Samsung is watching/listening then the 2nd gen may be something special. I also think Samsung wanted to be first to market with the "thin" phone vs Apple.
My guy i loved this video i really hope you make video when s26 edge come out keep going
Thank you! I appreciate that. I’ll make sure to do that if the time comes!
At least it looks like Samsung knows what direction they wanna go in now. For the past couple years they genuinely seemed pretty stuck or out of ideas. Excited to see how this thinness war translates to their other products like the tablets and laptops. However, I'm not excited for the possibility they'll get rid of the S-Pen from the Ultra line though.
You dont get rid of tour lambo for a porche so get two phone one in each pocket
☝️☝️☝️
hot take: this is the new s26+ for next year with a silicon carbon battery to increase battery to between 4500-4700mah
i wanted the edge but got the pklus cus i need the battery life i like the ultra but it cost to much as far as the downpayment lol
I trade in my s25 ultra because it was trigger my carpel tunnel in hands. Currently trying out the s25 edge and I must say my hands are relieved. Considering the s25 plus for camera reasons only.
3:00 ups ;)
I'm gonna be upgrading from an s22 base. Never thought twice about the edge until I held it side by side to the s25 plus. It's a very tough decision. Price is identical between the 2 with promotions. I do kind of wish the s25 edge slotted between the 25 and the s25+ at 6.5" size with its thinesss and weight.
Hi I'm using the s24 plus is it worth upgrading to the S24 Ultra?
Trading in my Samsung 23 Ultra for the S25 Edge cause the Ultra is just dang heavy bro pulls down my shorts 🩳 and pointy it was fun and good while having it for 2 years and plus free case and screen protector and percentage off of accessories!
I was handling this phone yesterday and the shock! Large screen but so damn light and thin. It was a mind fuck. I almost ordered the phone on the spot. I think every sceptic should go and try it on hand before crying in the comments.
I believe you, still not worth the price and battery sacrifice
Tells it like it is
Is the camera better on the edge?
When we have to measure in mm and grams to explain the difference, id say they're all basically the same exact thing. The biggest difference that's not incremental would be storage. You can get s25 ultra with substantially more memory than the base s25. Everything else is almost completely negligible imo.
I just bought the S25 Plus and I am very happy with it for its beautiful screen, its powerful processor, and for its weight that for me coming from the heavy S23 Ultra, it is ideal. The cameras are relative because if I do not spend my time taking pictures, then the S25 Plus ones turn out to be quite good and enough for my daily life. Good video. Greetings from Colombia.
I watch alot of reviewers and this guy is top dog
Honestly you guys get these Samsung phones for a very good deal in the US, the Edge in Europe is like 1500 dollars. Certainly would go for a Xiaomi 15 Ultra for that price range.
I'm about to switch my S22+ for either one of those ones. They only had the same exact blue S25+, but not the Edge, although they can order it. I really wanted the 25 Edge, but after seeing and holding the S+, I'm still undecided. They have an Edge on display, and it does feel lighter but simpler. The 25S+ feels and looks more premium and fancier. I think I'm taking the 25S+
The Edge is necessary for people don't like to carry heavy brick phone. I am one of those folks rather carry a lighter phone smaller battery than a heavy phone with bigger battery. I have already preorder the Samsung Edge to trade in my S24+. The battery is going to be 1000mah less, but I always carry a portable battery so it's not that bad, I am just tired of heavy brick phone. Just my personal preference.
I hate heavy also but 80% of the time it's not the phone it's the damn case on the phone. So I go with no case.
Wait you don't want to carry the plus because it's 2 heavy but you carry a battery pack around?
So I have the 24plus also and wondering ...How as the experience been ? the cameras and battery life compared to the 24/
S ,plus has been always the sweet spot. The edge's main selling point is it is Ultra ( light and thin ). I dont mean it as a bad things.
The point is there are two different phones.
It is like coparing s25 with z fold 6
The ultra in Canada is $ 2300+ compared to the plus. I would love to have the ultra it's just to much money. Phones in general are to much money. Especially in Canada
The s25 edge is a phone for the person who just wants to be different. I mean if you're not looking to have the very best but you want a quality phone that gets attention and gives you status even if it's just for the moment it's the perfect phone for you. Sort of like what you get with a Google phone when you walk in and people see it but they're not quite sure what it is? Depending on what you need a flagship phone that does just a little bit less as far as gaming and heavy duty but get you attention might be just what you want!
Some people dont actually care that much about the camera fyi. If i take 5 pictures a month that aren't work related the 25 plus is more then good enough imo. Spending 300 more for a slightly better camera is a waste of money imo. For the ultra i work for verizon and nobody wants the edge really or the plus for that matter(except me because i picked the plus) i didn't even consider the edge no 45 watt fast charging was a deal breaker and it has a hugh camera bump.
Definitely the plus
When something exist we must complain about it 🗣️😭
guys with a special discount, I can get edge slightly cheaper than the plus model. In this case, which would be the best choice?
A comparison I can appreciate, because on paper the Plus is the best bang for buck.
🫡
It actually didn't cost much to "develop" the Edge, or any new phone. Phone tech peaked several years ago and 85% of the parts are off the shelf and in most phones.
So the camera features is really 4 years old? I have a s20 want to trade
Nah man especially if you know how to tweak the settings via the Camera app + Camera Assistant, its not even comparable.
I got an S25+ and my little brother got himself an S22+. Mine is miles better in terms of camera, display is also much better.
Just put -2 Exposure and HDR10 Video at the same time and nothing on the market comes close to that vibe.
-1 Exposure for photos.
The S25 are a very solid lineup, period. Refined, tougher, more pleasing. The display is the best on the market, nothing comes closer. Super well balanced and satisfying, both the display experience and the overall phone as device.
The edge needed a silicone carbide battery and anti reflective screen to make it stand out more
Hi! The S25 Edge doesn’t need to be perfect - it just needs a few standout specs, like a bigger battery or better cameras, to make the iPhone Air look underpowered. What makes it interesting is how it compares to the rest of the S25 family: it’s a strange mix of features. It has less battery but more megapixels, a titanium frame, it’s lighter and thinner, yet it lacks a telephoto lens. It’s a bizarre phone to compare because its strengths and weaknesses are all over the place.
SLIM or Flip , what you prefer ?
I held the Medge. It's nice and feels like going from my Fold 4 to the 6: thinner, lighter, better main cam, better screens, better battery lif-- oops. Lol.
Okay fine. Caw caw imma eat crow. Not cuz I held it but because of all the initial reviews of a day in the life and battery drain tests on yt. 5-6 sot and 14hr daily useage. 12hrs drain test on wifi. Given the same tests vs the plus you lose quite a bit of battery life but Mehdge legit all day endurance.
Agreed, Options are good but it don't help sales for the s25+ and so I think getting people into spending 1100 usd for a new thin shiny phone would be $ammies objective. So might be time to axe the s25+. That and it sets a new price floor for their middle child flagship slab phone line.
You over exaggerated the price difference you said The plus is $999 and the edge $1099 stating $1,000 difference in reality it's only $100 difference
The ultra just was too big...not pocket friendly....the s pen is cool but its something i really won't use often....so i bought the S25+......very happy with my decision 😊
Ill keep my ohhhhhh so heavy brick thanks, cant agree with this vibe at all....rip off.......
With edge being cheaper is thr plus still better?
I would get the edge
When the s26 comes out next year i think i may get the s25 edge, love the look with the two cameras, seems simpler, and i want a lighter and thinner phone personally. I'm using my s23+ still.
It lacks the greatest feature of Samsung cameras, the telephoto lens.
Can you actually put it in your pocket without bending it?
Yes
I was in Mexico on vacation a couple weeks ago. On day 3 I think it was, an hour into being in the pool I realized my S22 ultra was in my pocket. Total destruction. Had 2 sims in it. Wasn't going to upgrade but now I have the S25 Ultra and the S25 Edge. As unlikely as getting my phone lost or destroyed again, I don't want to risk being unable to access one of the lines. Works for me.
Which is better
@thegnomegang6825I like the Edge better actually. The Utra may be "better" but I love the form factor of the Edge.
I think it's first gen and Samsung left some space for next one.
This is the price robbery.
Samsung should put 2025 gen battery silicon carbon. 4500 maybe 5000mha easlly.
But this cost more and that's why i think 1099 is a robbery on low end battery with low end charging speed.
Then don't buy it.
@ljacobs357 It was just for awareness. 90% of users don`t know what they`re buying.
S23-S25 Plus are alla great phones. They look and feel thin. My backup phone is Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE and that is already insanely thin, but it has an ok battery life. S25 Edge is just a gimmick with that tiny battery and poor battery life. Just get S25 Plus.
Do you have anything on the flip yet?
Not yet. Sorry
ive never seen such delusion in the smarphone/tech community. (still a fan and sub of the channel btw!)
From my perspective, thinness isnt worth the extra charge, especially when youre losing a camera. The S25plus makes more sense. That said, the one plus 13 i feel gives you much more for $100 less. Thats why i left Samsung after 8 yrs of samsung loyalty. The pluses were my go to phone. But now i feel Samsung is lagging behind in terms of forward think tech like silicon carbon batteries, no native 10 bit display, nits brightness behind chinese phones etc... and giving you no charger in the box when youre charging us 4 figures for a phone. No thanks.
I think at the price of $1000.00 for a 256GB super slim and light phone is too high. Samsung shouldve had the price starting at $799.00, even more so since this is a newer product that they are trying to get others to try. With that being said I paid $900 for my 512GB S25E and its great. I love mine
THANK YOU for this video!!! I am the Apple version of Samsung person you were speaking of 😅 You have helped me make my decision, sir 🙌 Edge FTW
S25+ is the better phone. i was going to get it before i got the pixel 9pro xl dont really see the poing of the s25 edge
What’s your opinion on the Pixel 9 Pro XL? Is it a good phone? I’m also considering the Galaxy S25+. I’ve been using an iPhone for the past 9 years, so this would be my first time switching. :)
@olafcisneros1 Yeah, the pixel is a great phone no real complaints with it. What iphone have you got? The only real thing I was surprised with is how heavy the pixel is
@olafcisneros1 The Pixel 9 Pro XL has three high-
resolution cameras (50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, 48MP 5x telephoto) and a super sharp 42MP selfie camera. It's fantastic for night photos and close-ups, and you can use Google's cloud Al to make your videos look even better, especially in low light. The software is clean and simple, with lots of smart Google features built in."
"The Galaxy S25+ has a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP 3x telephoto, plus a 12MP selfie camera. It takes sharp, natural photos in any light and records excellent, stable video-even at night or when zooming. The software is packed with features and customization, making it great for users who like more control and options."
If you want the best night photos and a simple experience, go Pixel. If you want the best video, especially in low light or zoom, and lots of features, go Galaxy.
@roryhouston8305 The Pixel 9 Pro XL feels super premium but yeah, it’s heavy. iPhone 11 Pro Max. I haven’t upgraded since they all look the same, aside from the Dynamic Island and the boxier design. I tried the Pixel 9 Pro XL and S25+ both feel refreshing to use. Got bored of iOS lol
@olafcisneros1I've tried both the Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Galaxy S25+. The Pixel is awesome for night photos and has a really clean Android feel. The Galaxy is great if you want more features and the best video quality, especially in low light. Both are excellent-it just depends on what you care about most!
There's a huge difference between nitpicking and actual legitimate complaint. The problem is not too many people know this lol. People are just nitpicking the edge
Yup
The weight decided it for me, sick of getting an achy wrist and pinky finger. I almost never zoom and have a charger around me most of the time. Edge works for me personally.
Hey great video! Despite the sacrifices of the s25 edge vs the plus Im gonna go with the edge and just carry a battery charger if the battery is worse for me, I like the thinness and design and don't really care that much about the cameras
The s25+ bench marked 10-20 percent higher on every benchmark then the s25 ultra this year while staying cooler and lasted 30-40 mins longer on battery drain test then the ultra for gamers that don't care about the s pen plus is the way to go
It's why I got the plus. I don't care about the s pen or if the camera isn't as good. It's fine for me and I didn't want to waist 300 more dollars for the ultra.
Anserw this for me ive s25 ultra, in jet black 512gb should i get the edge ?
Get the Ultra 512
Plus
And the Plus only gets a 50 mp camera.
Lets be honest the plus is far better...6.7inch ,3x telephoto,45w,4900mah,still the same 8elite and 7yrs of updates and its now £800
Which one of the two has the better point and shoot camera?
Edge cameras are really great than the plus
For a cell phone having to plug your phone into a wall more often is a huge compromise not a perk.
Its nice that its lighter but its going to be sitting on a table more often.
And for almost 2 times longer because it doesn't support 45w charging. Only 25w
@ctp069ctp06o Well not really, since the battery is smaller it takes less time and energy to charge to 100%, so the charging times between the different phones are all about the same
Sorry dude, I just don't get in that Tiny battery and the 200mp camera not being the same as the Ultra for the price? I think they are sort of acknowledging that the + should simply be better!
Then it would be the ultra. 🙄
Boring and tired? It's a phone - throw a case on it and they all look the same. 4 yr old cameras work fine for me and I think most people. I wish you got the Plus options on the Base S25. Smaller size that I can use with one hand, but retain the giant battery, 45w charging and more storage.
This product is evidence that Samsung is more interested in keeping up with the forbidden fruit and less interested in what the customers actually want. Very few will pay more money for a phone that is inferior to the S25+.
I just bought an s25 plus yesterday, June 3rd, for 799 at Best buy. I switched from a klunky s24 ultra. I do not regret my decision. So much lighter and more manageable
Got the Edge for same price as regular s25. Easy choice. I've had S-series phones since the s4, but always the lightest ones, never + or ultra.
