Short canvas is 9:16 but long video has 16:4 how you do this if I convert I lose the resolution and skip some screen please tell me
Honestly, I am not a huge fan of shorts, because it still doesn't direct viewers to my long form content. But I will continue to post them, if anything so that they can drive more subscribers.

I'm totally someone who will seek the longer videos on people's RUclips channels from the shorts, I swear there are more like me, I would think, lol. I love how the shorts catch my attention span perfect, and if you hook my interest I actively look for your other videos that might be longer episodes with more to them. V-Sauce, Sci-Show... Etc... Sending encouraging vibes if you decide you wanna keep drilling at it 😺❤

I think RUclips should make a different Ytshorts app under the same domain, while keeping the RUclips's originality intact.
Shorts money sucks but I use them to drive traffic and link the long form videos. I do get a few extra subscribers off each of my shorts.

Whoever is reading DONT give up on your channel. Think about all the hard work that you have already put in. Every youtuber was once in your spot they just kept going. Stay consistent and you will reach your goals. consistent uploads and improvement and some determination is all you need! I am going for 625 subs by the end of March!

The ad revenues from shorts is absolute garbage. We earn about 2 cents per 1,000 views, its totally worthless. To make matter even worse, RUclips is taking traffic away from standard videos to promote shorts.

My first ever short hit 1,000,000 views and I can finally attribute my earnings for that video. $66.48 for 1,000,000 views. But, hey you know what its better than $0.0002 from the old system 😂😂. I also don't do RUclips for a living, so this is just extra money for me so I can't complain too much.

@@Comedianmsanita But it's not like RUclips is taking like 99% of it, it's 50/50 from what I've heard, so if their short made $66.48 for themselves, the whole short probably made about $130. Even if RUclips gave them every penny of it (which they shouldn't, I think 50/50 for use of their platform is fair), it would still be very low

but are you not getting 1000x as many views on shorts vs on normal length videos? I'm seeing that kind of spread down here in the beginner basement. Does that not scale up as you get bigger?

Maybe views at certain times or days get a higher payout price per view and in times where there aren't as many active users the price given per view drops lower. But on average over say a year then it equalls what they state the rate is?

If a channel that has 700K subs only gets 20 million shorts views per month, and small channels with 500 subs need a minimum 3 million to get monetized, it just doesn't seem possible to me that it could happen... Can you make a video on this? Maybe give us more of your metrics?

I was happy with my long form content views then I started posting shorts and my subs skyrocketed. BUT NOW its like pulling teeth to get views on my long form and the new feature that allows you to connect the 2 have serious hurt my average view duration. took 1 video from a 70% down to less then 20.

It’s because ads just don’t work as well on shorts.
The thing is shorts are super easy to make, Longform videos take days or weeks to complete whereas you can easily make 2 or 3 shorts a day,
I have only posted 2 shorts. I have not been a fan of shorts going forward I will use post shorts on days what to keep my channel busy

It's reasonable and for New into this business world is easy to get sub's and views with zero creativity. But for alteredy develop channels is hell but they still have sponsors etc.... U must se a bigger picture.
