we do sort of see john warg into Ghost in the show when he calls for him as he is dying and then when Ghost seems to know johns friends need him when the ones that killed john come for the body and also in the way Ghost is looking at Johns body and reacts to melisandre and her trying to bring him back
Seeing Ramsay Bolton again chills me to the bone. His torture of Theon then Sansa was so difficult to watch. His death by his own dogs was revenge well deserved.
In a series with so many (often deserved) revenge scenes, that one was definitely the best. Ramsey was a worse monster than Joffrey, and his surprise at discovering that he too was just made of meat was awesome. ;)
I think the bond between the Direwolves and the Starks is stronger than the bond between the targaryens And the Dragons. The starks actually share the wolf's body when they warg.

They were bonded to the dragons thru blood and magic, but it is made clear in both the show and the books that while the dragons bond with their riders, it is an illusion that the Targaryens control them. Not every Targaryen was capable of claiming a dragon. It's really the dragon who chooses its rider. Again, it's made clear that the Targaryens don't really have control of the dragons, and it's only an illusion that they do. This is why Lucerys was not able to stop Arrax from throwing a burst of flame at Vhagar, and Aemond was not able to stop Vhagar from attacking and killing Lucerys and Arrax. I like to think that grey wind was already dead when rob tried to warg into him and that with Arya near, nymeria was nearby watching her and that rob accidentally warged into her and lived out his days watching over Arya from a distance until he finally succumbed to the animalistic nature and became a wolf from then on, connecting him with his name all the more.
The one thing you're overlooking is the fact that rod had no knowledge that Nimyria was still alive. As she was sent away by Arya in an attempt to save her life. In season 1 episodes 2 or 3. Each Stark child formed the link with there own direwolves. I believe that the connections with there direwoles weren't a connection between them all.
I believe though Niemira the Direwolves will be back. Keep in mind she has been away and had her own family since then. They need the Direwolves to sell the story because they are much loved.
Although it had great depth in the story I didn't read from the books I did like the new understanding of the different in the dire wolves and their gifts to each of the Stark children but I would have liked it better if you had edited down the discovery of the Dire Wolves for each of the stark children. You left out one detail and the prophecy that the fight between the Stag buck vs. the dire wolf and there fatal combat that the stag had no fawns but the dire wolf had pups, almost to symbolize that the Baratheon hand no children but were Lannister Lions.
In the real story, in the books, Robbs wife from House Westerling was not present at the Red Wedding, and was kept safe from any future harm by her family's connections with the Lannisters. Also Ned did not kill Lady with his dirk. After Robert ordered Ned to kill off Lady to placate Cersei, Ned called for Catelyn to bring him Ice, House Stark's ancestral Valyrian steel sword.
That was upsetting for me I would have let Lady free. Sansa was insufferable in the show even at the end i felt because she lost Lady she never was fully a Stark. And in the show it showed she had a crisis of identity.
They should find a clever way to insert in the sequel all those cool elements left out of the show, e.g. all Starks being wargs. I always thought that Jon being also a Targaryen could warg into a dragon, maybe control the dragon of an enemy e.g. an ice dragon in the battle against the Great Other. Endless possibilities.

Is this a show based theory, or the books? I thought it was well established that all the stark kids warmed into their wolves to some degree. Arya and Bran were able to warg at will. Jon would have wolf dreams, but chalked it’s up to dreams. Jon going beyond the wall confirmed his belief. We don’t know what Robb thought. Sansa lost her wolf too soon to know, but she still had wolf dreams.
I think they all had the power but Bran’s was the strongest. Even the all seer tells Bran he’s been waiting for Bran. The green seers have visions too, they don’t all become the all seer. Only the chosen one. The Starks are an old blood line.
In the books Jon was the strongest. A Wildling Warg in the north mentions he was the strongest he'd ever met. And he often became Ghost without thinking about it, struggling more to get out than to get in.
i think the reason rickon had a black wolf was because he was treeted as a black sheep by the series as no one really prioritised him and he was neglected by many and by the series all together as he wasnt in the series on his own storyline until ramsy brought him back but by then his fate was seeled

I don’t think he made it all the way to Winterfell. But the wildlings have always climbed the wall and conducted raids on small villages. So the deserter most likely climbed the wall at one of its lower points. Probably similar to how Osha & the wildlings that attacked Bran got South of the wall.
So we still have Ghost and Nymeria in the far North and North respectively and Summer killed by the undead in the presence of the Ice King. Could we then have all three Dire Wolves reuniting with Jon Snow north of the wall?
I would like to see the life of The Hound. He was both a great protagonist & antagonist! If I could bring A Hand back; it would be Ned Stark just because it’s Sean Bean. I loved when Sean Bean played Richard Sharpe in the Sharpe series.
Wolves and dogs are very similar, when a dog's owner is upset or scared the dog senses it and becomes more aggressive. When Rob is getting mad at Jamie Grey Wind gets aggressive. Makes perfect sense.
Honestly, as much as D&D complained about the cost of having ghost on screen I don't think he'll be an integral part of the series unless they figure out a way around the special effects.
Imo the Starks have first man in the bloodlines. Part of that includes the ability to warn with animals. When Nymeria approaches Arya after all this time she is the only Dire wolf. The other wolves are regular northern wolves. Dire wolves rarely range south of the wall. As far as the relationship between the Targaryens and their dragons, I don't think there's any mental connection. Really it is by sheer will that the dragon riders are able to have any control over them. If you want to look at connections between humans and dragons you would need to look towards " Dragon Riders of Pern". In the House of Dragons, when there is a clash between 2 opposing households the riders had very little control of the dragons involved and the larger one ended up eating dragon and riders both. From what I have seen there is nothing similar between the Targaryens' and their dragons to that of the Starks and their Dire wolves. Absolutely no comparison at all.

I don't understand why Sansa didn't execute little finger herself since she passed the sentence. Appeared to me Arya was asking Sansa if she was ok since she passed the sentence inferring it was harder than cutting his throat. I'm honestly not understanding this. Snow is trained and raised to act as the perfect gentleman's gentleman. Only just below human as he is a dire Wolf. I can only imagine that being both a dire Wolf and being the slayer of human beings was quite the. Elevated position for a pet or in this case, war wolf.
My theory is that Ghost and Niemira represent the special bond that will continue between Jon and Arya. I think if they both come back they eventually marry.
Nymeria already has a pack that’s she’s the leader of. Besides she’s in between the North and King’s Landing. Whereas Ghost is beyond the wall. However, in the books, it’s states that both Direwolves knows where their siblings are. That’s why Ghost was able to help Summer and Shaggy Dog.
You do remember that Jon and Arya are still first cousins, right? Probably not a huge deal given the civilization level that we're dealing with, but they have a strong big brother, little sister relationship. Marriage is definitely NOT in the cards, and they'd burn the deck if it was.
I agree they have a strong bond and their wolves reflect that. I also agree that the two could be good together. The whole first cousins thing perfectly alright in-world. However Arya doesn't want to marry or rule anything, she wants to explore and adventure. Even living in the dangerous world beyond the wall wouldn't hold her attention for long, also the fact she will prolly have to make some kind of deal with the house of black and white or face some kind of consequences for leaving with their secrets.
Is the direwolf pack that Nymeria became the leader of really a direwolf pack? I thought that only Nymeria was one out of those wolves there, since the 6 pups are supposed to be the last of their kind, or am I wrong?
The Stark direwolves aren't the last of their kind, they were just the only ones south of the wall. Nimeria takes charge of a regular pack of wolves in the river lands.
I think the whole scene of the Starks finding and adopting the wolves ('one for each of the Stark children...' is foreshadowing of Theon's betrayal. The way he says to Jon: 'This one is yours, the runt of the litter' sounded superficially condescending, but underneath was more then a hint of bitterness. Like many insecure people, he's 'kicking down', trying to place himself above Jon, which he technically is, being the trueborn son of a noble family. But deep down, he's very aware, that he's even less part of the Stark family, then the 'bastard' John Snow. Raised like one of their own, yet a hostage and possible enemy.
Yes indeed summer did by Bran some time by doing fighting the walkers but summer wasn't the only wolf to fight against the walkers Ghost also fought them in " the long night " too only differentiate is summer died and Ghost lived

Nimeria and ghost would not be friends as they both hunt for their own packs alone. That is, they will not hunt for another pacs food. They must remain separate forever as if they meet, they will have to fight or go their own way. And they must do what the pack demands.
Probably Ghost is Bloodraven/Bran from the future. After defeating the white walkers Bran will push the female direwolf beyond the Wall and after being wounded by the stag he will succeed in moving his will to one of the pups
Nimmirrorria could have simply removed his hand. But as she felt the fear in her master's voice and emotions, she stopped short of snapping the bones and left him bleeding. Actually, that was very attentive of that particular dire Wolf. Both lady's had to learn to grow up on their own. Both lady's learned to be hunters. Now they were ready for Battle.

All of the Starks and Jon Snow were Wargs, able to share minds. Robb's wolf was intentionally separated from him by the Frey's.

I don’t think he made it all the way to Winterfell. But the wildlings have always climbed the wall and conducted raids on small villages. So the deserter most likely climbed the wall at one of its lower points. Probably similar to how Osha & the wildlings that attacked Bran got South of the wall.

Wolves and dogs are very similar, when a dog's owner is upset or scared the dog senses it and becomes more aggressive. When Rob is getting mad at Jamie Grey Wind gets aggressive. Makes perfect sense.
Honestly, as much as D&D complained about the cost of having ghost on screen I don't think he'll be an integral part of the series unless they figure out a way around the special effects.
Imo the Starks have first man in the bloodlines. Part of that includes the ability to warn with animals. When Nymeria approaches Arya after all this time she is the only Dire wolf. The other wolves are regular northern wolves. Dire wolves rarely range south of the wall. As far as the relationship between the Targaryens and their dragons, I don't think there's any mental connection. Really it is by sheer will that the dragon riders are able to have any control over them. If you want to look at connections between humans and dragons you would need to look towards " Dragon Riders of Pern". In the House of Dragons, when there is a clash between 2 opposing households the riders had very little control of the dragons involved and the larger one ended up eating dragon and riders both. From what I have seen there is nothing similar between the Targaryens' and their dragons to that of the Starks and their Dire wolves. Absolutely no comparison at all.

So we know they don't have the same connection to a dragon as the Starks do with the Direwolves.

I don't understand why Sansa didn't execute little finger herself since she passed the sentence. Appeared to me Arya was asking Sansa if she was ok since she passed the sentence inferring it was harder than cutting his throat. I'm honestly not understanding this. I hope in future GOT series we're get to see Sansa called out for her actions like keeping the Vale secret which possibly could have saved Rickon and others in bob's Also in kiings landing when littlefinger told her Arya was alive she didn't seem relieved and shortly after all Sansa thought of was marrying Loras. Snow is trained and raised to act as the perfect gentleman's gentleman. Only just below human as he is a dire Wolf. I can only imagine that being both a dire Wolf and being the slayer of human beings was quite the. Elevated position for a pet or in this case, war wolf.
Why is a scene with Ghost, John, & Sam well included in the Rob & Greywind story?
My theory is that Ghost and Niemira represent the special bond that will continue between Jon and Arya. I think if they both come back they eventually marry.
Nymeria already has a pack that’s she’s the leader of. Besides she’s in between the North and King’s Landing.
Whereas Ghost is beyond the wall. However, in the books, it’s states that both Direwolves knows where their siblings are. That’s why Ghost was able to help Summer and Shaggy Dog.
You do remember that Jon and Arya are still first cousins, right? Probably not a huge deal given the civilization level that we're dealing with, but they have a strong big brother, little sister relationship. Marriage is definitely NOT in the cards, and they'd burn the deck if it was.

I agree they have a strong bond and their wolves reflect that. I also agree that the two could be good together. The whole first cousins thing perfectly alright in-world. However Arya doesn't want to marry or rule anything, she wants to explore and adventure. Even living in the dangerous world beyond the wall wouldn't hold her attention for long, also the fact she will prolly have to make some kind of deal with the house of black and white or face some kind of consequences for leaving with their secrets.

The Stark direwolves aren't the last of their kind, they were just the only ones south of the wall. Nimeria takes charge of a regular pack of wolves in the river lands.

I think the whole scene of the Starks finding and adopting the wolves ('one for each of the Stark children...' is foreshadowing of Theon's betrayal.
The way he says to Jon: 'This one is yours, the runt of the litter' sounded superficially condescending, but underneath was more then a hint of bitterness.
Like many insecure people, he's 'kicking down', trying to place himself above Jon, which he technically is, being the trueborn son of a noble family. But deep down, he's very aware, that he's even less part of the Stark family, then the 'bastard' John Snow. Raised like one of their own, yet a hostage and possible enemy.

All of these things are a bit different in the books. I don’t go by the series so much because how it ultimately destroyed the storyline. Still waiting to see if Jorge will come up with anything else.

Nimeria and ghost would not be friends as they both hunt for their own packs alone. That is, they will not hunt for another pacs food. They must remain separate forever as if they meet, they will have to fight or go their own way. And they must do what the pack demands.
