Finally number 14 Dave Keon is retired. Montreal called him "the hab killer". Cup winner, Conn Smythe winner, Leader, A complete player. Leafs did the proper thing retiring these numbers. Good on you Shanny, very classy.

I have been a Leafs fan for 55 years, and, I was never prouder than during this ceremony. I'm so happy with job the current Leafs management is doing, they're building a winner, one draft at a time. This was long overdue. I had the good fortune to watch 11 of these great Maple Leafs play, live, during my life. My parents had seasons tickets in the 1940's and saw most of the others. Great to see my favourite Leaf of all time, Darryl Sittler, get his number retired. The future finally looks great! Go Leafs Go!!

It looks like they won't win another for a long time. They had their chance, but f'in Rask blew that. A regular season superstar!

As a lifelong Blackhawk fan( and an American) I loved this. My first game was 1959 Hawks vs Wings. I remember the great Leaf teams of the 60's. Keon and the Chief along with Johnny Bower. If you watch the love in between the great Johnny Bower & his People & not get at least choked up, you aren't human. I've watched this many times over the last few months & still get into the ugly cry at that moment. The emotion just pours off the screen.
Had the privilege, honour & pleasure of meeting Mr. Bower at the only Leafs game I've ever attended, as he was doing a Meet & Greet out in the Concourse area. He is such a lovely man, National Treasure & as a World War II Veteran, also a Hero. He must just be beyond thrilled to see the turnaround of this Season & I hope he enjoys watching these kids in the Playoffs. Regardless of how long the Boys Playoff Run goes. 😊🇨🇦🏒

Even then, my favorite player was a superstar playing in the shadow of all these legends. My favorite of all was the one that combine talent and determination. My favorite one scored the winning goal in Canada cup 1976. My favorite one scored a record of 10 points in a single game. My favorite one, won many years in a row, the skills competition's name ''Confrontation'' against the greatest, held at Hockey Night in Canada. My favorite one was probably the best Toronto Maple Leafs of all time. My favorite one was non other than Darryl Sittler.

After he left, I heard my doctor tell the other doctor "when I congratulated him on all his accolades, he said 'thank God it's over.'" So this ceremony really was closure for all these players who weren't getting the treatment they deserve until now.

I was saying to my wife the other day that i thought it was ridiculously stupid that some of the numbers of the "honoured" Leafs weren't being issued and taken out of circulation. For example 17 hasn't been worn since Clark left, same with 13 and Sundin, Sittler's 27 hasnt been handed out since Mike Peca in 2007. But then other numbers were being handed out like crazy?!? Examples like 21, 4, 9, 10 have all been continuously given out to run of the mill players. Was Salming any less of a player then Clark? You could argue Salming was far superior to Clark on his HOF induction alone. So i am happy they finally put this issue to bed and just retired them all properly. Shanahan has done an excellent job from top to bottom bringing prestige to this organization. Getting Keon back and retiring his number 14 was essential and he did it. Give it a few more years and the Leafs will also be a very good team on the ice if they stick to the current plan.

The announcer is great, but this would've been better if this was narrated by the one and only Maple Leaf Gardens announcer Paul Morris. He too is a legend.

This is my first time watching this video. I learned about the legacy of The Maple Leafs; unfortunately, I also learned about the avaricious era of Harold Ballard. This act puts all of the wrongs of that management right, and I got major feels when when I saw the descendants of fallen Leafs standing in their place. I like seeing management setting a better path for the fans/ team relationship. Great job, Toronto.
