Hey man, fellow Canadian operator! I’m going back to pumping this spring after having stopped for 5 years. I find your videos really thorough and informative. Mixes in Calgary are similar to what you pump. In my experience, the only time my pump would struggle is when pumping steel pin mix or fibre mix, and in those jobs we would have grout sent to the pump 100%. I watch your videos to help bring memories of operating back. Keep the videos coming, and keep showing how-to stuff like this. Pump on man! 👍
Thank you brother. Dozens of hours of binge watching your channel inspired me to start my own. Funny how as pump operators we can literally never get enough of this stuff!
@@kjartanB the best is when on vacation and you spot a pour going on so you stand there for like an hour watching while wifey just carries on with her pre-planned itinerary 😂😂😂
Here in Ireland I like to prime out slowly aswell with just water if just using the boom but if line on I mix up a 25kg bag of cement in two buckets and pour it in the line
Great stuff maty. I was wondering just of the top of my head. If I was to come over say on holiday would it b possible to come to your place and come to work for you. No pay just to get my paperwork for a pump Whot do you think I still love your stuff reagards Les 🏴👍🇬🇧👍🇨🇦
I like to have the paddles rotating towards the rear of the hopper as the first bit of concrete falls in from the mixer truck and once the hopper is full I will then switch it to rotating forward. Honestly, this step is really only of any added benefit for times when the the mix is extremely harsh/rocky.
Yes sir. 4.6” boom pipe on this one. It reduces down to 4.6” at the “cannon”, so aside from the pipe wearing a little quicker, and being outrageously expensive, it’s not too noticeable of a difference from standard 4.8” pipeline. I most always just prime this one with water, unless I’m making RUclips videos 😂😂😂
@@canadianconcretepumper1979 Our 40 is also 4.6". I did the same deck pour with the 40 and a high pressure 38-5 and they both gave 105m on kill on the box lol Those 40s are sweet little machines. Super smooth and a very nice foot print
@@greghughey9738 yeah man, that 40 was such a nice footprint considering the amount of reach. It was a legit 9’ of reach versus our 38-5 with its cantilevered pedestal (loses that additional meter when booming horizontal). Regrettably, we sold that 40Z back in the early spring 🙃🙃🙃
I prefer to use the prime-port as little as possible as the threaded bolt used for fastening the clamp has a tendency to strip-out with frequent usage. Honestly, it’s mostly just faster/easier to toss slick-pak directly into the hopper as well, in my opinion.

Yeah, we’re very spoiled for the most part with our mixes out west here. I appreciate you following the channel 🙏
I like your ideology of pumping. Great job!!!

Great content. Been watching these videos with my 5 year old waiting for work to pick back up. Keep the videos coming!
Thank you so much for watching. Always get excited to see the next generation taking interest in the trade 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You pump at low rpms I've noticed, interesting. I was never taught this. Learning quite a bit from your videos man, keep them coming.

Cement powder great for priming as it does not compromise that first bit of concrete out the end of the hose. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Pardon my ignorance but how does the rotation direction of the agitator after the concrete in the hopper?

Is that a 4.6" machine? Just curious is all. Always cool to see different ways to do stuffs and things. Look forward to many more

Why not just use the prime port to mix the ez prime or slick pak?

I only really use the prime port for if I’m priming through the boom + a bunch of line/system.
