Why Do We Bind and Loose?!

- Many of us who believe in spiritual warfare are aware of binding and loosing but this operation of legal authority is often misunderstood. To bind and to loose is a prayer strategy; through the blood of Jesus and the Word of God we can restrain demonic forces and loose their hold!
"And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Matthew 16:19 KJV
Jesus gave us the keys of authority as sons and daughters of God and we've got the power to forbid demonic operation and loose the power of heaven on earth. Take your position as a son or daughter of God and exercise your rights in Christ Jesus!

If that were the meaning of binding & loosing, none of those evil things mentioned would be present in the world, now would they.

Why do the surrounding verses not have anything about warfare or demons? Matthew 18:15-20 looks like it’s dealing with unrepentant sin. Like if a pastor is committing adultery and he refuses to repent. First a brethren confronts him in secret. Then after, he’s confronted again by the 2-3 people. Then they tell the church. And if he still does not repent, then he is to be treated like the heathen. Then they bind/forbid him from being a pastor going forward and Heaven will back up the decision. At least that’s what it looks like to me. I assume that if he repents and lives his life for God again, they can loose/allow him to pastor again, and heaven will again back up the decision.
Also. How do we know that Matthew 16:17-19 is for everyone? It specifically says it’s for Peter. Please and thank you 🙏🏾
Correct that is the meaning of the context. And not even one disciple of Jesus that bind the Devil and other demonic attack.
James 4:7 resist the Devil and he will flee from you.
Mathew 17:18 Jesus rebuke the evil spirit.
Tony Evans said binding is for when you are being attacked, but the are not "attached" and loosing is for when they are already "attached" and one needs deliverance. I was wondering your thoughts on this Apostle. Thanks for the weekly word. God bless.
Whst is meaning of the word BIND and the word LOOSE in the Bible. Not the dictionary.
Loose means to break destroy dissolve . Look it up. You still don't have it right.
Never use a dictionary to get the meaning of biblical words. Use the concordance.
Hello can you give me advice on this. Dr Tony Evans says to bind and loose where two or three are in agreement. But what if you’re not a church member and it’s only yourself you have to depend on to bind and loose?

PLEASE! Read the context of both passages and don’t listen to this salesman.
The Matthew 16 one - Peter (a real Apostle) has just confessed one of the central truths of the Bible. Jesus IS the Messiah! This is why he has authority to bind good teaching and loose false teachings like so many religious leaders were adding.
The twelve apostles exercised this authority.
It is available to all Christians, Jesus did not make any exception.
