I dig the sound they have for NSP and Starbomb, but I wish there was less processing on Danny's voice just because it's SO GOOD raw!
It's not processed, just layered
That's not how voices sound layered alone, though. It's certainly not auto-tuned, but there's some kind of effect or filter put on it. That, or it *is* raw, but whatever mic setup they use to record gives it some kind of filtered sound. Whatever the case, every time I hear him sing *not* in an album song (i.e. on Grumps, and Magfest panels, recordings of live performances, etc.) the tone is much purer, and isn't a difference that would be made by layering alone.
Hmm, true. Dan has said several times that it isn't processed, but maybe you're right and it is unintentional

Well, I've just heard him say it's not autotuned, and that's far from the only kind of processing. There's all sorts of subtle effects and such that they could put in that might make the difference. Maybe it's just the way it's blended with the music that's throwing me off and I wouldn't think the same thing if I heard his parts completely isolated. Regardless, his voice is aural gold.
Yeah, i feel like if there was intentional processing in it, Danny would be transparent enogh to tell us. But I guess in the end who knows right?

True Story: My sister and I were on the couch playing Sims, when she starts singing Stacy's Mom, in that way when you're with friends, really off-key. My mum walks in and as it was December, she says "Why not sing something more Christmas-y?" Then my sister started singing Stacy's Mom replacing everytime Stacy is said with Santa.
This made my day, man!! I'm glad you and your sister enjoyed the video :-)
