I was maybe 12 or 13 and my friend and I were walking up union street, the street packed. Suddenly out of the side entrance to Central, big bomber comes out. Dressed in an immaculate suit and a cashmere overcoat. We followed him down the street and shyly said, Mr Brown can we get your autograph. His reply, nae bother lads. Spoke to us about the importance of hard work as he was signing it. We weren’t skiving school, just the last day of the summer term. Shook our hands and said stick in lads. A true moment in my young life I will never forget. Now 49.

I always thought Brown was staunch to the core, but in fact he had friendship with loads of Celtic players and huge respect for Celtic players back in the day. He seems a quality bloke
Very good interview, great balance between letting the guest speak and cutting in with context of your own from Frank and the host. Bomber along with Terry Butcher was my Grandfathers favourite player, Frankie Bhoy was mine, Hail Hail. 😂

Just discovered this, I remember Bomber from his time at Hamilton Accies in the 80s when I was growing up :-) Scored a good few goals from left back.
Great to see Bomber looking well (beard suits him!). The best defensive partnership I've ever seen at Rangers was not Gough & Butcher, but Gough & Brown. I just wish we'd continue putting our faith in Scottish players. Conor Barron's been our best signing this season.

Brilliant, as a Rangers fan, i love Frank, great stories, and the rangers and celtic i remember growing up. Maybe Scotland needs uefa to ban English clubs from Europe again 😮

I can't believe that Frank this interviews totally changed my opinion of john,as a youngster I hated John as he was a extremely good player for rangers,but man he seems like a good guy great to see youse are good mates 👍

Remember outside ibrox when Rangers were going to Aberdeen roughly about 1990/91,it was a Friday and we were looking for signatures, I'm a Blantyre boy,we were standing on the middle reservation and a work van went bye and shouted get it up yeez ya orange bastards,and big bomber stood in the middle of the road with the middle finger up shouting git it up yeez,😂wee boy looking at a total hard man,wish we had 11 players on the park like him 😊

See when Frank sticks to taking about football and West Ham stories and maybe his carry on with the women he’s brilliant. But when he chips in about rangers and their short fallings he just sounds like one of the obsessed. The brandy, not whiskey story wasn't a game celtic. It was the league cup final at celtic park vs Hearts as the national dump was being turned into the peice of sh*t u need binoculars for that it is today. Archie Knox told him to go get a double brandy. Not sure if it was fron the celtic chairman's office or not... probably not. That was the same match he and Ally had a wee scuffle and shouting at one n other in the 1st half. So that's likely why he avoided the dressing toom at half time.

Whoa. - On the rocky road when a podcast becomes a vehicle for slagging off individuals who’ve gained justifiable respect in the game. You might feel there’s reason not to like someone but it’s possible to express how you didn’t “hit it off” with each other without denigrating them publicly.
