I watch car reviews quite regularly, mainly from CarWow and Carbuyer. However watching your review, I can say that this is almost as good as ones on their channels. A very informative and detailed review. Keep up the good work!
I wanted the convertible version of your car but now you’ve got me wanting the coupe. Keep up with the vids bro. The explanation was organic and I liked that.
i like the 420d more, i know it's not the 430d faster and more powerful but 420d is more economical and powerful enough for a normal man like me :) good review 👍🏻
Souf Rider I have the 420xd gran coupe and a needed a bit more power so i put the stage 1 i now have around 230 hp 0-100 is 6.1 second and my city drive averages around 11 liters /100 km , open road is 5.1 . Gran coupes boot opens completely like a hatchback ( important for me ) and has a bigger boot, i have it in m equipment with ton of additional options , head up , line assistent , automatic adjustable led headlights bla bla , it’s a nice daily car but it’s pretty hard on comfort, has a little space for stuff in the car, it needs more compartments, and driving it with 19” run flat tiers is not very comfortable i know i avoid even the slightest road holes, overall i’m happy with it has a lot of space and in sport drives really good, i wanted the automatic x drive because i’m not a child anymore ( i’m 32) and it corners really good , hold the road very good even at high speed cornering.
Recently bought a 420d xdrive 2016 and i agree with everything he just said. The car is amazing, only problem i have with it is the same as the author, getting in and out of the car is awful, you really do need some wide space to make it easier. But driving and comfort wise it is amazing. Spot on review.
Just bought the same car, picking it up tomorrow, part ex my f30 330d which I loved. The f32 drives and handles like a totally different car and the looks are to die for.
@@Ahmed-tb6vv Is this car still worth as a used car 2017 67000km in buying 2025? Is it expensive to maintain and service? How much would it cost to service?
I have 420i , the only thing I dont like is that you have to bend especially in malls parking when the other car is parked on your face. overall fantastic car to drive !’
There is no comparison between a 430d and a 420d. The 2.0D engine is a good engine, do not get me wrong, but is not in the 3.0D league at all, economically and certainly not speed wise. A 435d is even superior to a 430d as well. I have a 435d on a 17 plate, and have always had the 435d or 335d car. They are magnificent and not only are they very economical to run, but they look good and I wonder why anyone would buy a hearse like Audi or Mercedes-Benz?. The differences in class are massive between the brands. The difference is massive between a 420d, 320d then the 430d / 335d etc, etc, which you must know. I also have a 320d Touring SE, which I transport my dog around in. Great runaround, but on a long journey it is more juicy than the 3.0D variant, by qutie a margin as well. Example, I live in Wales and travel down to Chichester, Sussex at least once a month to visit family, friends, etc, etc and I drove my 320d down their once, and on a return journey cost wise so in the region of 400 miles give or take, the fuel cost was £65.00. On my 435d it costs me a shade over £50.00. So you do the maths, the 435d or 335d or even the 430d / 330d is much more economical than the smaller engine, purely because you do not have to put your foot on the accelerator as much as you do in the smaller 2.0D engine. If you can afford it, you get a 3.0D 248bhp or the 3.0D 313bhp versions. Genuinely are superior to any other engine in its class, perhaps Jaguar's magnificent 3.0V6 Diesel is as close as you can get to eh barnstorming straight 6 BMW diesel engine. Others are not in the league, Mercedes-Benz and Audi just not in the BMW or Jaguar league at all.
What would you say the main differences are between the 430d and 435d (apart from the drivetrain)? I've just put a deposit down on the former but I'm wondering if I've made a mistake and should've shopped around for a 435d xdrive...
Not really. Someone who simply drives to work and home won't really notice all that plus the 428 is more gas efficient. I dont think people buy these with racing in mind bro its more luxury. At least that's my take if I wanted a fast race car I would of purchased something else.
Fast Vans Hi mate, thinking of purchasing something similar. Have you had any trouble with ground clearance going up steep hills or anything? Thanks dude.
I keep hearing that the doors are a bit long on BMW coupes, and all I can say is that as a tall person long doors are a godsend! I'm so tired of not being able to put my arm on the door with the window down because the B-pillar is in the way! In my 3 series with the seat set comfortably I'm sitting almost behind the B-pillar which makes getting in and out a chore, on top of blocking my peripheral vision, and I almost never use the back seats anyway; what was I thinking buying a sedan!? I can't wait to upgrade to a coupe with huge doors or a convertible with no B-pillar at all!
Just watched this in 2019 as I'm looking to buy this car. "19 subs" I look now and you've got 900. Impressive and satisfying my OCD perfectly... that round number though.
Jure Pičulin Cheers 👍🏼 To be honest I've never liked manual transmission bmws... I find them clunky and tiring. If you drive a manual VW or Audi the gear shifts just feel much smoother and generally better. In terms of driver engagement, a lot of bmws now come with the flappy paddles and all autos have a "manual mode" as well so when you want that "shear driving pleasure" then you simply switch the transmission mode to manual/paddles. I find using the paddles really fun and if you have an auto with paddles you get the best of both worlds hence why I would never go for the clunky manual. That's my opinion anyway but you should try out both options for yourself before you commit! Good luck 👍🏼
My wife has the 420d M Sport convertible with a manual box. Sure, it's not as slick as the auto, but it's certainly not bad, and you can't beat that feeling of really 'driving' the car yourself. We love it.
Also what editing software did you use I loved the lighting affect that went with the beat! that was great stuff. I recently bought sony a6500 for family pics videos not a vlogger lol. I've tried iMovie on my mac which is okay but not that great was thinking of adobe but is quite expensive lol
Would you say your video accurately captures the hue of the Coral Red leather? Some videos make it look like a dull red while others make it look like it has a bit of an orangish hue.
I would say my video is a fairly accurate representation of the interior colour. There isn't really a hint of pink at all. If anything yes there may be a very very slight hint of orange but they are most certainly red. I say the video is a fair representation but really you need to see it in the flesh because there's no camera in the world that will make you appreciate the coral red interior as you will with your own eyes.

Hi mate. Love the video very helpful. Hoping to purchase a 428i M sport. Wondering whether you've ever had any trouble with ground clearance going up hill or anything? Thanks dude!
Ryan Coatesworth Hi Ryan, I’ve never had any issues with that. Compared to the older model 3 series coupe, the 4 series ground clearance is much better. I used to scrape my old car pulling out of my drive but the 4 series is fine. Enjoy your new purchase! 👍🏼
What's terrible about the manual out of interest? I heard on another review that the clutch and break pedal are too close, is that it? Thanks for letting us know. I'll pay a bit more for the auto if I ever get one :)
Bit late to the party but I'm dying to know how the car rides/handles on the P Zeros! Also how did you manage to get them on it, from my knowledge, all 4 series on those wheels come with the Bridgestone potenza s001! Anyways I find that there is too much tyre noise and unless the road has just been resurfaced, the car feels jumpy and twitchy during spirited driving! I've been thinking about changing my tyres but runflats on 19 inches are atleast 200 pounds each when bought on the internet and atleast 300 from places like kwikfit, I don't want to fork out 800-1000 pounds on something that won't make a difference. Also my car is on adaptive dampers which I hear reviewers rave about but I still find the ride isn't as good as it should be! I had a bog standard w2015 LCI 320d m sport on the standard 18 inch wheels on continentals without the dampers and it felt a lot quieter, less crashy and easier to drive fast on bumpy roads, what am I missing here
surom123 great question mate. Ive found the dampers are absolutely fantastic! The reason for this is that mine are always set to comfort during normal driving where the steering is much much lighter (this is the biggest and most important difference in my opinion). As for the ride quality Ive found that in comfort the ride is much better than it has been in previous bmw coupe models! When i purchased this car the tread on the tyres had almost worn out past the legal limit therefore I went with the P Zeros as Ive always seen them to be one of if not the best brands. My car handles very well considering how much power it has and it being a rear wheel drive it doesn't actually spin out that much however in the wet one still has to be careful. 👍🏼
Does anybody have first hand knowledge as to why manuals are horrible? Looking at a manual at the min but obviously with lockdown im unable to test drive. Any first hand advice is much appreciated
