I remember sometimes in class we would start talking about mythology and nobody knew anything about it except for me. I’d dare say that I knew more than my teacher. The kids and the teacher looked at me flabbergasted and asked “How do you know so much about this”. I said that I played this game. Looking back now 10 years later it’s funny to me how games are still looked at like a waste of time when I got so much knowledge from playing this one. I finally had my moment to shine. Thank you Ensemble Studios! 🙏
I remember being 11 years old thinking "whoah, when I start getting mythology classes in high school, I'm gonna know so much". Of course that class never existed but I always remember how I excited I was. This game truly left a mark on me.
Me recuerda Jugar AoM mientras mis padres discutian en la sala de la casa, esas notas nostalgicas me recuerdan por que me sumergi en ese juego mucho tiempo.
it's tough listening to this music, the game is almost 20 years old, i can't even believe it ... I wanna cry. I mean in the grand scheme of the universe, what is 20 years? It's really nothing, honestly, that's how I feel about time (many think 20 years is a long time but to me, it isn't). But still, when you're a kid and in your formative years ...
Aom for me is just perfect, it can be an RTS but it can also become a city builder if you have already dominated your opponent. I find myself filling the entire map with buildings and markets just like I would in the other genre of games, only finishing the final passive enemy building when I am satisfied.
I hear villagers mining gold, cutting trees, hearing the wave of the ocean of the meditteranean map ... very impressive sound design I love this game
And I hear a fucking titan destroying my base
and then you hear the sound of you being attacked by 5 Ulfsark killing all of your villagers
@@Ryuu77777 you can't hear this track when a titan destroying your village 😆
I hear "prostagma"
I read it in the tune of "What a Wonderful World."

i mean, its not like this game is historically accurate haha
And then you woke up.
I think own my extensive knowledge and passion of mythology thanks to AoM and Stargate SG-1.
@@stibba4286 The gods in it are and the mythological creatures too. But that's about it.
This song hits me hard in the heart.
As an atheist, this song makes me feel like if I was protected by some god.

I wonder why everyone is so amazed by the greek quotes the units say.
because they are meme material and run in the same nostalgic vein as 'my life for Auir' or 'Power Overwhelming.'
it isnt greek... its actually gibberish...
sarus30i It's latin-Ancient greek
I like Norse more. They are strong.

Peak nostalgia. I’m so glad to have played this game a few years after it came out when I was a kid. Love this game with all my heart and soul

The melody reminds of Starless by King Crimson. Very cool.
