These games are same every year. Certainly not worth the price of admission, but maybe intriguing to some if they skip a few years in between. It's a yearly game so you can't expect much, sadly. In six months in will be forgotten like its predecessors and the build up for the next game will begin.
Most of the wrestlers that were in 40 years of wrestlemania won't be in the game. They list 200 wrestlers will be in the game but there are only about 80 listed
I am with you on this one, standard edition is the best way. The dlc's you can buy separate or when they are at a sale and save yourself a lot of money and still have fun with the game, but who cares, people do watever they want if they got the money.
I'm getting the deluxe edition physical. Collector's editions aren't worth it ever since they went digital only. IDK about anyone else, but I got CEs in the past for the physical stuff. The autographed plagues, the piece of ring mat from Cena's 16th title win, the replica HoF ring --- that kind of thing. Last year I got the DE and just bought the Ruthless Aggression Pack off the PlayStation Store that same day.
LOL how dare you try to tell people not to waste their money on unnecessary garbage! The WWE 2K fanbase are such shills. Getting anything other than the standards is insane. The first DLC pack doesn't even come out until May and the last DLC will come out 6 months after the game does. And then you have 4 months until the new game after that. Season Pass is pointless. Better off just buying the individual packs you want when they're discounted and if you must get the Season Pass then just wait until May when it's on sale.
There’s a reason why I still buy discs and download very few games. It will take too long to type out the reason so I’ll direct you to the video labeled “video game exec blasts gamers for not accepting they will never” I’m assuming the last bit was supposed to be “own their games” and he just ran out of space. He explains it well. The video’s by TheQuartering. If you don’t like thequartering, other RUclipsrs have talked about it.
I only want the 40 Years edition because of the cover. I’m fortunate enough with my money to not really sweat the price. However, everywhere I look I only see the other two editions on disc. The 40 Years edition is always digital. If that’s the case, then I’m just getting the Deluxe Edition. I like having the discs because 1) I grew up owning disc games and 2) I can always trade them back in for the newest game 😂.
I did buy it, BUT just as a simple chance to test out their recent developments. More specifically, I haven't paid a single cent primarily for the previous two installments, so I am doing this to give them a chance. I just hope that they take a fair, yet a very significant step in the right direction, although I more-so know that it won't exactly feel like the beloved SmackDown! - SD VS RAW series. If I were them, I would add plenty more than just wrestlers to their season pass, such as new arenas; new battle arenas / areas (like a bar; a city; a ship; etcetera); and even new showcase matches. 2K15 - 2K16 had the better idea with that.
You have done what I did back in 22, I think it's honestly the best thing to do with the wwe games because from my understanding there are hardly any worth it changes if you buy the game every year which I was doing up until like 2k16 then I gave up and came back to it (really enjoyed coming back) but then am feeling the disappointment I did back then. The season pass definitely needs to include more than just superstars. I agree with that tbh.
Boggles the mind how people actually rationalise wasting their money on things like accelerators. How can people not see that they are paying for something that is ALREADY in the game? Something that can be simply UNLOCKED. It's not like that has cost 2k any extra labour such as, for example, spending extra time to add a new superstar or game mode. It is a simple unlock to get something that is already in the game. People that keep on enabling 2K by paying for this kind of thing are part of the problem. No Cross-platform in this year's release (Tekken has this, MK has this. 2K are lazy), still haven't addressed their ABYSMAL online mode (constant disconnects across ALL platforms), still annoying 'stun' in the game (so look forward to players overwhelming the crap reversal system to hunt to stuns in multipalyer), same old clunky gameplay as 2022, same character models. You all need to ask yourself the question: what are you really paying for, that isn't already in 22 or 23?

Yeah that's my fear the fact that we have had a mode similar, they could spin it and make sure we don't play any of the same matches which would be better but I do imagine there to be reused ones. That's the worrying part really mate, I guess it's good for people that didn't get to play them but recycling content seems a little scummy if they were to do that. Too many people have been burned from the marketing of 2K and all the promises that they tried to keep, but I learned that you should probably order the game at least close to launch date, or hell even after the game is out to avoid day one bugs, because no matter what the game will have day one bugs.
I'm not on that completely doesn't bother with it, I just avoid the dlc content in their games because I think its below par. Although I seem to always buy on launch most years, it is basically like walking over a mine field trying to avoid bugs at launch.

The casket match is new to the 2k series, it was only in 2k15 as a single showcase match. Now we can have any match with it. Ambulance match was only in Smackdown vs raw 2010 for DS, different publisher and dev, and only on a handheld. Special guest ref was in 2k14, but that was ten years ago, and it wasnt fully fleshed out like the new mode. The wrestlers reffing the match couldnt even wear the ref shirt. Also we're getting gauntlet matches which were somwhat there only as slobber knocker and that was THQ raw vs smackdown 10+ years ago stuff. I think base game and deluxe are fine, dont plan to buy the 40 years version, but we are getting a lot this year. I never got 2k23 so for me theres now a lot to upgrade for.
Definitely a good upgrade if you missed out last year, I'd say. I see no point in the deluxe editions at all unless you're someone who would rather save time on unlocks, season pass and dlc is just one big thing I can never get behind in the wwe games, I find it laughable that people get excited over wrestlers that have already been chosen to be in the game but you've gotta pay extra for.
@@DudeImAshI can 100% see the point of the deluxe if you know you will get the season pass anyway. I love most of the wrestlers in the dlc, so for me it was a no brainer to just get the deluxe as I just get the slightly pointless alt attire as a bonus then.

I will give my opinion and watch yours. I was disappointed by wwe2k22 because of move set spam, glitches, lack of transition to backstage, load times, custom videos not showing online, arenas crashing and lack of multiplayer content. Dissapointed with wwe2k23 because they didn't fix these issues. I bought the premium and got it refunded. I also didn't like minimized moves out of ring in hell in a cell matches or inability to make the royal rumble pin and submit. Remove over the top rope. Now with this it has more, I am hoping they adjusted it better and fixed things like custom videos online. I can always refund it and get a lower version of it. It comes with unlocks and new superstars (which I look at for creation tools/moves). I am hoping it's changed otherwise its a hard refund for me.

People get the 40 years so you can get the complete game from jump, if anything deluxe isn’t worth it because guess what you still gotta buy more from the 40 years
I think you've fallen for the annual game trap. Same with Fifa and COD, They release them every year with minor changes which the player base will cry that they're not good enough and yet if they change too much the player base will cry that it's changed too much. Ever since PS4 & Xbox One era, gamers have thrown their toys out the pram and nothing will get them back in nor will they grow up.
I couldn't agree with you more, I avoid annual games at all costs nowadays, I only got back into the wwe games with 2k22, and gosh I realise why I gave up with them in the first place, same thing every year, no real change, new price tag. This is why I'll never understand the huge fanboys that stick up for these types of devs as if they're doing them a favour

I don't need to know that. No wrestler in any dlc pack makes it worth money to me. im happy with what's in the base game and don't think wrestlers should be extra dlc that we have to pay extra to play with.
I don’t want to have to play the lackluster showcase mode and grind it out in any of the modes for anything pretty much at all so I pay the extra, plus I get the wrestlemania not everyone gets standard, and attires I don’t have to work for. Still a scam though 😂🤦♂️
I mean, that's fair enough. The thing that bothers me, though, about the unlocker that you have to pay for is the fact they've essentially just monetised the unlock all cheat code, which is crazy.
What a scam! And the Standard edition is overpriced, the showcase is SO LIMITED... 21 matches? Can we just throw out universe and my rise, and just have a HUUUGE SEASON MODE?

@@centraltimegamers2977 no I get the one with all the unlockables but don't fall for the ruthless aggression or the Wrestlemania they are just alt attires or legends I don't use anyways
Idc what people say unlocking all the unlockables are apart of the game experience it more bang for your buck
but they should be the option to unlock everything not hide everything behind my faction even with "everything unlocked"
I remember finishing many WWE games and unlocking stuff it's good but these newer games the grind ain't worth it 2k23 I played showcase and carrer mode and grinded for gear, characters, legends, arenas but with 2k24 I'll still be grinding for the wrestlemania arenas, carrer mode characters ect. And I've got to be serious playing showcase and it's just live action footage with blurs and edits isn't interesting to watch.
These games are same every year. Certainly not worth the price of admission, but maybe intriguing to some if they skip a few years in between. It's a yearly game so you can't expect much, sadly. In six months in will be forgotten like its predecessors and the build up for the next game will begin.
They're definitely better when you skip some years I can speak from experience there
@@DudeImAsh My last was 2K19. Still solid. I'm still waiting for one to make me jump ship.
I pay 20 extra dollars to save me hours of unlocking stuff! So it worth it for me!
Then there's the fact that it lists the Dusty DLC as Dusty Rhodes '76. So there could be a chance that WWF 80s Dusty could be "on-disc".
You've just made a solid point. I didn't even give 2 thoughts about when I first saw that
If it was available for a physical copy. I'd get it, but being only digital, it defeats the purpose. So I'll get the deluxe physical edition.
LOL
Most of the wrestlers that were in 40 years of wrestlemania won't be in the game.
They list 200 wrestlers will be in the game but there are only about 80 listed
Your comment confuses me a little. Were you expecting to get everyone from wrestlemanias history?
Dont buy the game at all, stop supporting overpriced cashgrabs, your money is worth more than this!
I am with you on this one, standard edition is the best way. The dlc's you can buy separate or when they are at a sale and save yourself a lot of money and still have fun with the game, but who cares, people do watever they want if they got the money.
Some ppl don't deserve money then.
@@bangpow4710 i quess so .
Is the 40YOW edition Physical? Been trying to order it.
I preordered this version immediately after watching your rant.
In my opinion I think wwe should step away from 2k and find someone else to make their games
How do you delete the 40 Years of Wrestlemania add-on easily?
I've only ever played WWE games for the story modes, so most likely play the storylines once or twice then drop it till WWE 2K25.
That's exactly what I used to do with the older games. Now I can't really ever get into them properly
Hey im new to wwe 2k games i played ps2 games HCP raw vs smack 08,09 but i loved hcp game modes creations your own character season modes unlock arenas outfits can i get all those in wwe2k24 any suggestions which edition should i go ?
Do you have to buy the wrestlemania edition to play the 40 years of wrestlemania mode?
Not at all no
Showcase only has 21 matches btw, have you made a video on that yet?
I have not, I should have done that tbh
I almost never buy anything other than the standard edition but I always end up later on buying the extra content down the road , this year to save me time I’m gonna get the Wrestlemania edition to get everything right away , hopefully I don’t regret it
Hope you don't regret it buddy, at the end of the day certain people will always be able to enjoy the dlc content for these games.
Do ya regret it in the spand of 13 days?
It is our fault 2K sucks because we buy the game regardless knowing they have no problem fucking us. 40 WMs 21 Matches... WTF. Cover Art is irrelevant when it's a digital only purchase...
Couldn't agree more, but unfortunately, it'll never change
@@DudeImAsh well many superstars like, Edge, Daniel Bryan, Sasha Banks, Big Show, Mark Henry and etc aren't going to be in the game also not going to be in the company and I'm going to still be excited for 40 years of wrestlemania and tbh We should at least wait for the game come out because and idk why you sound angry at 2K for?
6:33 they literally are new game modes to 2K. These haven’t been around for a decade
That's not true. Ambulance is the only new one to 2k. They are returning modes.
So do we still get the big are family stuff if we bought the 40 years version ?
Im still trying to figure whats the interest in replaying matches that you can watch at any moment you want
Tbf, you make a good point, but I guess people enjoy it to some extent
Cover is fire on that edition I ain't a 2k fan boy who defends them but 40 years of wrestlemania is gonna be a good mode so we can unlock all the characters although I expect tons of overlap with 2k14. BTW use the legends use all the characters
Yeah that's my fear the fact that we have had a mode similar, they could spin it and make sure we don't play any of the same matches which would be better but I do imagine there to be reused ones. Yeah the cover of it is sick I can't lie but the same thing applies that it's sadly pointless unless you get disc versions.
@@DudeImAsh exactly mate absolutely agree with you but I just feel up until you get to wrestlemania 29 it's most of the matches from 2k14 apart from wrestlemania 16, 18,22, 24,27 which they will have to find new matches for
That's the worrying part really mate, I guess it's good for people that didn't get to play them but recycling content seems a little scummy if they were to do that. The best thing we can do is hope there are some changes so it doesn't feel stale, I am hoping it's good and somewhat longer because the John Cena one was a cool change but very short
There’s 21 matches in showcase
Such a letdown, honestly.
For someone who hasn't played a WWE game since 2016 I might have to take the plunge It's looking better and better
In your case, I think you'd really enjoy it, I hadn't played since the same year and gave 2k22 a shot, and it was a blast!
Hey Ash, I haven't played either of the 2k22/23 games. Which edition of the 2k24 game should I get? I want to be able to play as many wrestlers as possible and preferably have them unlocked as I don't have too much time play/ unlock.
In your case, I'd say go for the deluxe
@@DudeImAsh Appreciate it, going for the physical deluxe version! Also, great content mate!
@@ShervMidiAgree with Dude. Deluxe is the sweetspot.
I’m glad I didn’t buy it, I’m still playing 2k23 lol what’s the difference between each game ?
Huge fanboys of 2k would tell you there are major differences, I don't think there is enough to make that step up from 2k23 if you don't need to.
@@DudeImAsh right it’s just a few new characters a return of a few old characters. But I ain’t in no rush maybe I’ll get it when it goes on sale.
I'd definitely say for sale price it's a better buy that's for sure
I'm not going to be one of those who will just be negative and will not buy no matter what...BUT at the same time im not gonna be stupid and pre-order just over anything that is shown for this game. Everything looks impressive on paper but it's the execution that I'm worried about.
Wait you have to pay, basically the price of 2 games to get wwe 2k24 with the forty years of wrestlemania mode. You have to pay the proce of 2 games to get the full game. Disgusting
Thank you sir for making me change my mind! I was going to get the WM 40 pack just for the cover art but now I’ll get the standard edition and buy the season pass separately for a lot cheaper if it’s worth it at all! 😊❤
Super charger allows you get all wrestlers, titles and arenas day one without having to unlock them manually and spend vc to buy them. It's worth it.
We can agree to disagree. You're happy with an unlock all cheat code to have to be paid for, strange to me.
I am thinking about getting the deluxe edition. I honestly don't care for the 40 years of WrestleMania.
The deluxe is obviously better if you know you'll get the dlcs
I bought the 40 years for the same price as the deluxe. Shop around.
Everything will be made in community creations. Standard edition 4 me..😊
I'm just gonna wait and buy it at a reduced price like I did the the 2K22 NWO edition
Can i play the 40 years of wrestlemania gamemode in the standard edition?
I get the new game almost every year, too. I will do this one also. I might try to hold off, though, until it goes on its inevitable 50% off sale in a couple of months.
I miss inferno matches
I was actually planning to get the 40 years of Wrestlemania edition until I watched this video. Thank you for educating me on this...Absolutely agree it's not worth it
You should've known that without this vid its 2K here 😭😭😭😭
I always buy it so I don’t have to worry about not having to buy every dlc pack
then buy the deluxe... cheaper and not throwing money for cover art on a digital product.
@@Dreadpirateflappy there’s an additional dlc with this if I’m gonna “throw” my money away as you put it why complain ? Like I’m clearly not the only one that bought the 40 years of mania edition
Relive 40 years of WrestleMania while we have over 20 years of WrestleMania missing lol
The reason I went for the Wrestlemania edition is because 2k has been catching up with the tricks on community creations in the past few games. Also, don’t care for showcase mode want to unlock everything everywhere all at once 😂.
Why would you want a pin/submit royal rumble? It defeats the entire purpose of the match type. Just make an elimination match at that point?
I was going to buy the WM40 pack just for the cover art, but now you made me change my mind! I’ll just buy the season pass separately for a lot cheaper if it’s worth it. Thank you sir for saving me money! 😊❤
Word of the day … outrageous, love it man 😂
I just got 2k23 on sale for $17. I’ll wait for 2k24 to be on sale like that
The best idea honestly except for the fact you'll probably have the servers shut down on you by the end of the year, like 2k22.
Don’t make it ever change to you. I am really big fan of the gamer right between the eyes. I will get 100% of WWE 2K24 give it one step of the judgment that 40 years of Wrestlemania is the best, period.
People get the 40 years so you can get the complete game from jump, if anything deluxe isn’t worth it because guess what you still gotta buy more from the 40 years
What do you mean not worth it doesn’t it unlock all showcase wrestlers I prefer the gm mode and universe mode I rarely play showcase mode
There arent even 20 matches in the 40 years pack
DudeImAsh, who would you like to make wwe games if 2k is finished???
The alt attires are different models, I think.
I got this version cause I have ZERO interest in playing Showcase.
I went Deluxe, idc about the 40 Yrs of WM Pack.
The Wrestlemania 40 Edition is only digital. No hard copies.
Wish my rise career mode was more open, where ur choice has an impact out ur career plays out. Of attacking someone starting a rivalry. Instead of pre made scripted, rather have a career mode that expands over years.
Couldn't agree more, it's hardly a career mode when it's planned out tge same for every player
Already bought it but thanks for crying. You act like they don’t transparently advertise what’s in each edition. It’s there they tell you what it is and it’s up to you to buy it or not.
After calculating costs of stuff and stuff I owe i can go so far as the deluxe edition
Same here, upset it’s digital only. What I plan on doing is getting a customer ps5 case made on Etsy.
im getting the regular standard cross gen edition . don't care about having the game earlier than release and don't care about none of bonuses . I hate my faction . don't care about multiple Cody Rhodes , don't even care for the season pass. community creation will have all those wrestlers for free
naw man paying 120 for a digital edition makes no sense , now if it was a steel book that would of been cool. I got the ray mysterio steel book it was great
i was all for buying till i seen how many classics are skipped in this mode.
Ppl dont want to admit 2k dont care about their game. Check the leaderboard that person UNDISPUTEDking been hacking his wins last 4 wwe games
I’ll get cross gen digital edition,,and if dlc worth it I’ll buy season pass too
see if u actually buy all the stuff separately u are paying more then the big edition costs so if u know your gonna buy all that stuff u get the big edition cause u actually save money. i bet you didnt know that
That is ridiculously obvious, I don't buy any of the dlc, hence why I don't think they're worth it because the dlc is trash, in my opinion.
@@DudeImAsh see u think the dlc is trash but u don't even know who's in the season pass to say that yet 😂
I don't need to know that. No wrestler in any dlc pack makes it worth money to me. im happy with what's in the base game and don't think wrestlers should be extra dlc that we have to pay extra to play with.
@@DudeImAsh no wonder u have no subs 😂
I just bought the 40yrs edition. I don't mind the price honestly. I like the cover and I want that new mania arena.
You don’t even get the cover, the cover is always Cody no matter what version it is
@@Louis_Guiabern I do agree to what this guy is saying. They shouldn't charge for wrestlers who were already out in the past versions of the game.
I just preordered the 120 buck game for the ps5 yesterday. Cant wait till next Friday on the 5th
You mean tuesday?
I think that the price of the "40 years of wrestlemania edition" is really expensive. That's why im buying the deluxe edition that it may still be expensive but at least they're not selling me that for $159,99.
Also because I could get an offer from Instant Gaming or even GameStop, I prefer GAME tho, I don't know if it exist in united states but is there in my country.
Lol why not wait for a sale?
@@bangpow4710 Fair Enough, but these days with "Pre orders" stuff going on I don't think I will be able to get it fo sale. Mainly because "Pre orders" are not normal DLCs until much later it seems.

Download the cracked version simple.
This is an L take for sure it’s called new game modes because it’s new to 2k also anyone who thought he would be in the game knew he would be DLC
This is an L comment as WWE 2K14 had not only special guest but also gauntlet so there's only casket and ambulance that are 'new' to 2k
