Between 1&2 was the last album before the renewal of their contract, i remember Chaeyoung saying that Dahyun wrote "When we were kids" as a goodbye song for ONCEs in case this was their last album
the fact that when we were kids was written by dahyun who is from the maknae line, twice debuted so young and had a lot of struggles in the beginning... everyone would love to go back and maybe take a different paths but they gave up their adolescense (and jihyo her childhood) for their dreams. At the time dahyun wrote this song no one knew the future of the group at this would have been their LAST SONG so it's like full circle, they had lots of regrets and even if they had this feeling of wanting to go back in time and appreciate those moments even more it doesn't matter, because without that journey they wouldn't the women they are right now... and at the end everything paid off 🤍
every ONCE who loves TWICE knows that listening to when we were kids breaks our hearts knowing the background of why this song exists, even though we know that it didn't end as it was initially meant to end with this song, it still makes us sad to think that this could have ended, but thanks to the love that ONCE and TWICE have for each other it will continue for many years to come.

When I first listened to "When We Were Kids", I thought I was listening to MJ's "Heal the World" or "We Are the World". One of the obvious advantages of a large group is that there are more changes in harmony. The harmony in "When We Were Kids" makes the song even better and makes it easier for the listener to resonate with it.
I smile everytime there is a reaction video and Onces in tje comments literally writes a whole NOVELA of how proud they are of Twice, or how their music touched their lives. I just know that TWICE is so LOVED by Onces so much. Thank you ONCES! Lets be together with Twice in 2024 ❤

@@naburinabong8902 yes but not at all times, if you listen carefully to the audio, nayeon sing the "only you" then cut it but the "ah's" are for jeongyeon for sure and it's very distinct to hear. just try to sing only you then ah, sounds weird right since the last sound is "u" then "ah" for the next part and try to slow it down, the "ah" harmonize in the "you" part.
