If u really want to compare them, marquez has 6 motogp world titles and agostini has 8, so marquez needs 2 titles to be the greatest.

In that season right there (2013) were 18 races, and he fought against Lorenzo (Nr. 99) for the title, and with finishing in 3rd, he comfortably got enough points to become world champion. The way they award points goes like this: 1st gets 25 2nd 20 3rd 16 4th 13 5th 11 6th 10 7th 9 8th 8 9th 7 10th 6 11th 5 12th 4 13th 3 14th 2 15th 1 16th and worse get 0 points. So he collected more points over 18 races, because of 6 race wins (he got for those 6 wins 150 points total, 6x25), and by riding more consistent than anyone else (he had only one DNF, Did Not Finish, by having 1 crash in the 5th race of the season, a few laps before the finish while running in 2nd place, which means that he lost 20 points because of this crash).
