There so many people in our communities that grow up without their fathers..... Most of them dads be showing up later in life after the kid has made it in life on some "that's my son/daughter", "he/she takes after me", "I was young and not ready for a child" all that BS. I have witnessed these situations. Let's face it sis. It is very common for kids to grow up without their fathers in our country.
I grew up with both my parents present in my life.
But still saw people from the community / family members facing these problems

I was in Durban (a city in South Africa) at a bar/restaurant about a week ago and I saw this man I recognized from television. Okay no biggie.
He then walked up to my squad and I, he makes small talk then he whips out his phone, goes on google and shows us Doja's profile and told us how much of a proud father he was. We thought he was bluffing until we saw his name under her bio.
That was shocking and a little awkward considering he just walked up to us for clearly no reason besides to brag about her because he walked away after that. He did look like he was under the influence which kind of explains the behavior but he was visibly happy and bragged alot about her. It's even more shocking to find out he's not even in her life like that. Yeah it is what it is. But yeah let me just say tho, she looks A LOT like her father. And I mean A LOT.

So me and Doja we sort of like experienced similar situations in regards to our fathers. And I only saw Dojas dad once when he came to visit my dad, and that's when I was introduced to him. Ever since then I haven't seen him.

I am a fan of his father's work since Sarafina and Yizo yizo till now on Isibaya. I think the dude needs to be advised somehow. He seems like a procrastinater and a very proud man when it comes to his daughter and somehow feels embarassed to face her while years keep going. On interviews he does mention her and knows about her success but you can see the same body language she has when asked about him. the pride from his father rubbed off but they do long to meet each other deep down. Think their situation is a bit deeper and her mother is at the center of it.
I think her mom should be applauded. She brought up Zandi & her sibling alone, that's super woman. What I've noticed is that she doesn't speak badly about her dad, trust me if her mom had badmouthed Dumisani, Doja wouldn't even answer questions about him.
