Hey Brent. Been watching you for a long time. Love your approach. Healthy and mechanical. Two things: rather than the twisting analogy, external rotation at the hip and varum at the knee brings the COM inside the knee/closer to midline. This makes it more stable BUT also requires more strength at hips to stabilize because we are changing the native position of the knee and the varum at the knee creates a long lever arm. I do orthotics and prosthetics. Have you ever thought about low degree medial or lateral wedges to assist in alignment up the kinetic chain?
B, you are saving kids’ bodies. Bringing an anatomical reason to debunk these old ways of teaching is unarguable. There are certain ways in which our bodies generally function better. This of course coupled with a strength program. You can’t perform these mechanics, which are elite, without being strong.
What you just explained about how the drive leg should stay externally rotated to stabilize, load the the leg with elastic tension, then unload it providing down hill power while rotating the hip inwardly is exactly the same thing a pitcher should do with his pitching arm and all for the same reasons. Outwardly rotate the shoulder and wrist when swinging the arm down, back, and up into the ready position. Then, while driving the ball forward, inwardly rotate the shoulder and wrist to provide power and ligament protection.
It is so hard to learn. I ordered a vpx band so im hoping that'll help but yea. Im going to need to practice everyday after school to get my mechanics really really good in 28 weeks.
I can not thank you enough for explaining this. It made a tremendous difference. Thank you

So I’ve been watching Gerrit Cole and he is a perfect example of this.

How do you outwardly rotate shoulder and wrist? I can’t figure out

Good info!
Damn dude!!! You just filled my missing piece in my pitching motion!! Increased my velo by 7-10 mph!!!!!
is this true or cap lmfao
@@drbre4479 biiiiig cap lmao
@@emiliogonzales7073this isn’t always cap coaches always talk about if u use 100% of legs it could increase just like that
Excellent info. Thanks Brent
Thanks Coach.....
Fantastic
What is more important shear force or vertical force for ground reaction forces?
Great information Brent me personally your a great trainer keep up the good work. Great info for my boys thanks

1:50 but thats how basketball/volleyball players jump from a run.
If you were going to use a pitcher as a prop to help demonstrate this who would you choose? I have one in mind.
hey whatever happened with that one court case against trevor bauer?
Still going on.
TopVelocity.net is it going in your favor rn or no
All I know at this point is it is costing me a ton of money.
TopVelocity.net thats tough, best of luck dude
Appreciate you!
how does it interfere with the kinetic chain
Kirk Clements this movement is part of the kinetic chain!
