- So I decided to test out food hacks and food suggestions from TikTok videos. Pancake cereal, carrot bacon, banana bacon and milking a cucumber? Things get weird in this one but I hope you like it and subscribe for more, thank you.

The lemon trick actually works. You’re supposed to roll it on the counter a bit before. It’s an amazing trick, because you can use just a little and put the lemon back in the fridge and use it again when you need it 👌🏻🍋

Why are so many people hating on him? I've been watching this channel for about 2 months and I always saw some hate on his channel in the comments. I always felt bad because he was trying his best, I mean, yeah I get that he does mess up sometimes but who doesn't make mistakes, I know I have made more mistakes than I can count😂 ( Also good job Ralpael! English cucumbers are not bitter by nature. But here in India our local varieties come so bitter sometimes that you can go into coma if you do not remove the bitterness before you bite into it by using the same trick as shown in the video. We Indians do that every time before slicing our cucumbers....

He lives in England, in England the cucumbers don’t do that, I am from Spain and the cucumbers in Spain are bitter so you have to “milk them”

Yep, the cucumber hack (it's actually useful) because cucumbers has "cucurbitacins" that gives the bitter taste, to most of the cucumbers but that depends on the type or even fertilization, and if you want to try it again, just cut the top (not to the part where the seeds are showing)
For some reason i never trust theses stuff but i trust it when you try them. What i love about your videos is that you can feel it’s genuine and you’re not trying to fool us, it’s like seeing a friend try it. Thank you☺️

Also, the lemon one actually does work but the lemons that you are buying have too much rine on the ends and that is why it is not working. It makes the ends squeeze together when you try to squeeze the lemon thus not creating a perfect stream of lemon juice. It is not the most efficient way to get all of the lemon juice but it is a quicker way.

The thing about cucumber, they have a bad taste sometimes.( the good ones are kinda sweet), and when u do that it is said it takes that bad taste away. And it's working. We do this in Romania.

The lemon hack works but try rolling the lemon hard with the palm of your hand before poking a hole in it to get the juice flowing :)
Point of cucumber is that when sometimes taste very bitter ( One of the reasons that makes a cucumber bitter is that it belongs to the cucurbitaceous family. These plants naturally produce chemicals known as cucurbitacins, which are the main cause of making the cucumber bitter. The presence of large amount of cucurbitacins can make a person sick) you 'milk' 'it and you voila got rid of bitterness(chemical whatever)..... its a real thing 😊

I'm Malaysian and we actually do that thing about cucumber 🥒🤔 we milk the cucumber to get rid of the bitter taste. That's what my grandma, mom, aunts and all my friends and relatives says and do.
I'm from Alabama and have never heard about that. But I will definitely have to try it the next time I buy one.

Some cucumbers are bitter that rubbing is done to remove the bitterness. We do that in Pakistan most of the time.

In India, it's common to rub the cucumber that way to ensure that in case if it's bitter, it gets better in taste. Maybe the term that tik tok video used was milking, but this act is common in here and widely used

Thanks for the video! But one can actually milk a cucumber, but it depends on the variety, not all of them get milked. It helps remove the bitterness or the cucumber, not its dirt.

Alright, Raph, "milking a cucumber" lol it's too remove the bitterness. You can do it, but you have a decent cucumber, that's why.
Milking the cucumber works for bitter cucumbers. It removes the bitterness of it. Cut the top for about 1 to 1,5 cm. Not too much. I've been doing this all my life.

Hello the last hack actually works we do it in India so when you hack cut the cucumber sides you have to put salt on itand then rub it now what it actually does it that if a cucumber is bitter it removes the bitterness
Milking a cucumber is soooo legit! People here in India do it all the time! So you cut like half an inch of the edge and rub in circular motion. The white substance that come off helps remove bitterness and wierd flavor from the cucumber.

the last hack, u shouldn't cut too deep into the cucumber and make sure that u cut its head, not its butt. The purpose of doing "milking" thing 😂 is to make the fresh cucumber less bitter when u eat it. This simple kitchen hack my family still using 👌
