    Your videos are always so helpful. I promise not to try and drag you down the rabbit hole but you are the only guy I can think of who might have a good answer to this question: I have a Magnum ME3112 Inverter/Charger. I am now getting the "Internal Bridge" error. It will clear if I do a hard or soft reset. But it will return as soon as I press the INVERTER button on the remote panel. The other weird thing is that when I connect it to shore power the 120v from the inverter/charger cycles ON, OFF, ON, OFF... every 8 or 10 seconds. Never seen anything like this. Have you ever repaired one of these situations and if so do you recall which board or parts were in involved?

    • @vincentkorie632
      @vincentkorie632 Год назад +1

      the MOSFET board is broken so the more reason you get the bridge error. this means you have a fault mosfet switch on the power board.......either u fix it or you get another mosfet board

    I just purchased a new to me motorhome with this same system. However, I've been having some issues with it. But when hooked up to shore power my inverter won't turn on to run my appliances. What causes that?

    Great Clip thanks for the info, you may be able to guide me in the right direction here is my problem I have a Magnum me2012 and last time out it gave me a no communication error I checked the telco cable that was ok and then checked the 12 volts to the inverter that was ok The led on the Inverter has a rapid flash and the on /off switch on the unit does not respond even after 20 sec If I disconnect the AC input the led goes out even if there is a good 12.8 volts to the DC terminals( This should put her in invert mode?) On the Remote I have a lcd read out but no green or red led.I have the unit on my work bench with the same results. I believe it has to do with 12 voltage on the boards my control board seems to be lacking 12 volts. would the 12 volts come from the ribbon cable or from the fret board.Also on pin 2 on the fret board connector I have a 12 volts but it goes no where. Any info would be helpful

    What do I need to do to get my remote to come on. The LED will not light up? Green light is on the Inverter/converter and I can hear it humming. I cannot control the inverter to determine what else is wrong with it.

    • @pcselectronics5423
      @pcselectronics5423  6 лет назад

      If it is humming, not ticking, then maybe you have an open circuit breaker? If the remote just has one green led on and nothing works then try jumping the remote input switch. See my video on different ways to turn the unit on. If all fails the unit may have been damaged. Call for help PCS Electronics 573-814-3131.

    Lol, all these parts are available. Five years later, and you can't find a single part for the 2012 models. At least none of the important parts. I currently have a brick that is only passing AC through. No battery charging or DC functions.
    I believe it's the control board that they don't make anymore

    Hello, Hopefully you can give me some insight. Would you know the voltage that’s suppose to come out of the NEUT OUT. Right now I’m getting NEUT OUT- 20V, HOT 1 OUT- 123v, HOT 1 IN- 1.06V, NEUT IN- 1.10V.. What’s happening is when I have it on shore power with both legs being 122 & 123 volts coming into the main panel and I throw the inverter breaker to turn it on it increases the voltage on the main breaker 164V on one leg and 113V on the other which throws a HIGH VOLTS AC fault on the Magnum ME-RC Remote Control. Do you think there’s a issue with the AC control board? Thank you.

      You possibly have an open neutral wire somewhere. Measure from ground to neutral and you should not have more that a few volts. You will have to inspect all connections in your transfer switch and cord reel if you have one. The problem could also be a bad plug connection on your shore power cord.

    • @SometimeIsNow
      @SometimeIsNow 3 года назад

      @@pcselectronics5423 Hello and thanks for responding. It’s much appreciated. 👍🏼 I don’t have a cord reel so that’s not in play. I went through and tested the shore power cord and neutral to ground was .554, so just over a half of volt. Tested all the connections in the transfer switch and all neutral to grounds are around .550 volt, except the power coming front he generator which had nothing. Everything I’ve tested seems to be fine. I went through and checked and tightened all the wire connections. I am on a camping trip right now and have been running off the house batteries for their last two days so it’s either try something or go home and lose the rest of the money to the RV resort so I had a brand new Magnum Energy ME2012 shipped and it’s arriving today to install. We’ll see what happens. I was going to try and replace just the AC control board but I could get the whole inverter much quicker than the individual part shipped to me. The part would have arrived days after I was home so opted to try something. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Wish me luck.. and thanks again.

    I do have a second question, how hot would you say is too hot for the transformer & FET’s before you throttle down on the max charge rate percentages? I was testing out my brand new equipment last night and could smell it cooking pretty good. I wasn’t sure if it was new equipment burn off or if something was going wrong. Anyway, I had just ran down the batteries to about 75% SOC and switched to charging. It was pulling 112 amps @ 27.5volts in bulk mode for about an hour when I detected the odor (not quite burnt smell, just a really really good break in smell). I checked the temps and they were at 217 degrees for transformer & 156 for FETs. The charge rate was set at 100%. I did take it down to 80% after watching this video, but I’m concerned that the batteries (especially with my undesirable three parallel setup) may not be getting the proper charge. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    • @pcselectronics5423
      @pcselectronics5423  6 лет назад +1

      Shutdown occurs at 142 on the FETs and 243 on the transformer. I would not want to run more than 120 degrees on the FETs and 180 on the transformer. High temps normally will not cause a problem in the short term but it can shorten the life of the inverter by a number of years. You should also be sure that what you are smelling is not hydrogen gas from the batteries during charging. Some gas discharge is normal and it is not toxic but it can be explosive. This is also an indication that your charge rate is too high. If the room is large it will dissipate without a problem but if it is a small area it needs to be vented outside.
      Good heavy connections to your batteries will help insure even charging. If possible you should use bus bars across the parallel connection and 2/0 wire jumpers for the series connections. Copper buss bars are expensive but you can make your own out of aluminum bar stock. The only down side to the aluminum is you have to check the torque on the nuts more often because of the added expansion and contraction of the aluminum.

    You didn’t go over solar on a unit like this can you add solar also and how?

    • @pcselectronics5423
      @pcselectronics5423  5 лет назад

      The Magnum ME series are designed for mobile applications. You can use this unit as separate inverter off of your solar charged batteries but you would still need a dedicated solar charge controller to take the solar voltage and drop in down to the battery voltage. The Magnum can not do this. Also step wave inverters are not usually recommended for home electrical systems. You should use a sine wave unit.

    We get a overload / fault on our me-arc when we turn on the air conditioner but when running on shore power it's fine ? You have any information about that ?

    • @pcselectronics5423
      @pcselectronics5423  4 года назад +1

      Normally air conditioners are not run through inverters but if it is then the start current of the air conditioner is too high for the inverter. If it has always worked fine in the past the AC unit may have a problem. It may need new start capacitors or there is a problem with the compressor. You should also check your inverter batteries and connections.

    Hi,
    Can I add solar panels in to my magnum me2012?

    • @pcselectronics5423
      @pcselectronics5423  3 года назад +1

      A solar system would be a separate system connected directly to the batteries. This does not effect the inverter operation. The only thing you might have to do is set your final charge on the Magnum to "Float" if you have that option.
