I was surprised many Okc born and raised citizens dont know about them....or never been there. Im from California and I was giving tours of OKC to my friends who lived in OKC their entire lives. Usually on a hot summer day, I would travel through the underground tunnels to avoid the heat. Lol I think more people should travel through them, to bring more business to the shops down there. But...i love them...they are a blessing on those hot 🔥 days!! lol
alot of it is closed to the public now. You have to have business ID cards to access certain parts. Most of the people down there just seem to be office folk going to different buildings. And most of the businesses closed because of covid :(
Much of the tunnels have been sealed, I went down in the 70's before you could see a bank vault of the old fidelity bank, the oil mens club was down there as well as shops, restaurant, eateries, bar type clubs, and a place for high class call girls to go. Then it fell in disarray areas closed off and redesigned.
My first trip to the tunnels was in 1990.... I was 14, there was a Baskin Robbins somewhere under there. I remember being so stoked to be eating an ice cream cone under the city.... Good stuff
My mom used to work downtown she would take me to a sandwich/pizza place called Ricolettos. Loved the pizza and turkey sandwiches. Back then the tunnels were called the Conncourse.
Omg Ryan !!! It's me Tori Gappa! Girl who dated Chris back at north ! I was just trying to look up this underground tunnel and I watch this video and realize it's you !! Wow you've really gotten good with editing and vlogging things ! Congrats dude !
I’ve lived in the OKC area my entire life, almost 56 yrs. I know about the tunnels. I used to work downtown, and walked in the tunnels daily. There used to be many more stores, cafes, restaurants, etc down there. It was a happenin’ place. I love tunnels too. 😁

Hey Ryan are you still in Oklahoma city? I love your style of videos and I will be shooting a short film in the underground. Would you be interested in helping us out?
Cool video. I am an artist so I love going downtown to sketch. We always end up walking in the tunnels. I haven't been downtown in months and I really miss. I find walking in the tunnels very relaxing.
about 20 yrs ago they started the new yrs eve celebration and they wd open the tunnels to public but then they closed them for some reason it was nice to escape the cold
You need to come to Houston and tour their tunnel system. It is a series of tunnels and a tunnel loop under the whole of downtown Houston. There are about 6 or 7 different food courts and shopping areas. All the business people use them since they don’t let the homeless that have taken over the streets down there.
I live in Moore OK and go there just to jog and be alone lol. Ever so often you pass another person jogging. I was born in Indiana, but raised here. It's amazing how many people don't know about this! I won a $100 bet about the tunnel's from a guy that was born and raised in OKC! It's kind of a hush/hush thing. There a lot of hush thing's in OKC. Most people flock to "Bricktown" for fun. The real fun is pretty much out of sight.
Born and raised here in Oklahoma City always heard about the tunnels but never went to them I know it's one by the state capitol and of course the Sheraton the lead you to the Chesapeake Arena
Who ownes those resturaunts? And where do you get a permit for that. RED BLUE AND YELLOW, are the colors, the govt. Has caragorized the citizens in. In conspiricy. Maybe thats whats been causing some of the earthquakes.
i spent a lot of time there in the early 80's as my mom ran a gift shop called the paper clip for several years. i believe it was near the city center but not 100% on that.

When I was younger my friends and I would walk the tunnels going to the bus station to go to PSM.
Spent many lunch hours at China Chef working downtown from 97 to 04.
I have not been there since the late 1980s

This would be a great spot for shelter in a post-apocalyptic event
Great video. I grew up in OKC. As a kid my father worked downtown and when he talked about "taking the tunnels" I always imagined dark caves.
yes to protect from tornados and drivers

The first time I visited the tunnels I was on acid and listening to Oblivion/Genesis by Grimes. Fucking mind blowing.

Came across your video and watched it and subscribed to your RUclips channel. Really enjoyed your video!
Last time I was down there they had an art gallery. But that was quite a few years ago.
I wonder if you could jog in them? They look pretty wide and empty, seems like it wouldn't be a terrible idea.

I guess Philip S hasn't found this vid yet. LOL. "your tunnels suck, okies suck" LOL.
Did so exploring in the tunnels back in 85. I did not know that they were still there. Had a few shops and couple restaurants

I remember my junior year high school going through the tunnels after school.
There used to be more stuff down there but it's still very cool. I go wander around every few years.
I showed my fiance this video and he was concerned for Lindy. He was wondering if anyone has made a wellness check on her since the video was made.
My friends and i used to ride our bikes in those tunnels. Never got ran off once.
What was the name of the second building he said? I could barely make it out.
