  • HAEGARDA®, C1 Esterase Inhibitor Subcutaneous (Human), is an injectable medicine used to prevent swelling and/or painful attacks in patients 6 years of age and older with Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). HAEGARDA works by addressing the root cause of HAE.* HAE attacks may occur when levels of working C1-INH are too low. C1-INH is a key protein in your body that controls swelling. Because of its dosing and subcutaneous delivery, HAEGARDA helps your working C1-INH levels stay high enough between doses to reduce the risk of an HAE attack from happening in the first place. Learn how HAEGARDA adds functioning C1-INH to your body.
*Missing or not functional (nonworking) C1 inhibitor.
