The last time I went to London, I’ve been on the Jubilee Line, and still, I never knew at that point that there were platform edge doors since I went on stations that had none. I was actually expecting some, but it didn’t happen 😆
I mean your not the only person to ask the same question. Even on the day I filmed I was wandering the same thing. One only likely explanation is because one of the main problem with modern trains they are sensitive so if a passenger leans on the doors on the train by accident then it could stop a train which was found out on the 2009 stock when that first entered service. PEDs could be a similar explanation although another reason is to keep them clear to allow passengers alight to avoid delays and overcrowding which can make difficult for passengers to get off the train. Even I admit even when I went back there 13 months later filmed there again as part of my Jubilee line Extension 20th Anniversary Special even I still find it hard to understand.
@@r4ls3i60 They were added on the new stations on the Jubilee Line extension to Stratford. So between Westminster and North Greenwich, the stations were built with the platform edge doors. The other stations on the line do not have them.
Well last time I filmed there back on March 23rd. this was how the announcement it was 'Jubilee Line, The train now approaching is to Stanmore, Please stand back from the Platform Edge Doors' Now it's this 'Jubilee Line, The train now approaching is to Stratford please stand back from the Platform Edge'. I agree with what you say and I find it strange too, probably the reason they have the announcement in is to stop people especially if it's busy leaning on the PEDs because the doors on modern trains do have censors and sometimes if people lean on them even by accident it can stop a train. Although the Google advertising on the Platform Edge Doors not just Westminster but also Waterloo, Canary Wharf and I think London Bridge as well I find that really annoying.
I been on a jubilee line train before and it said Jubliee line the train now approaching is to Willesden Green Please stand back from the platform edge And I didn't see a jubliee line train terminateing at Willesden Green before And I dunno why it said Please stand back from the platform edge even tho there was PEDs Good job Roscotrains107 (Might of spelt your name wrong)
Theo Likes Roblox And Trains etc well jubilee line dont just terminate at Stanmore they also can terminate At Wembley Park, Willesden Green and also sometimes West Hampstead because those 3 have reversing sidings. Stanmore of course the end of line. As for the announcements at Westminster well when I filmed there 1st time on March 23rd last year in my Jubilee Line Trains on March 23rd 2018 Part 2 video. The announcement was this ‘Jubilee Line the train now approaching is to Stanmore, Please stand back from the platform edge doors’ And of course 7 months later it’s changed. Same thing can’t work out why change the announcement but one possibility is because modern trains can be sensitive to passengers leaning on the doors because it can stop them. It’s strange but probably the most likely reason for the announcement change. It’s RoscoTrain107 by the way but not the first to get the name wrong.

Right I once went on Victoria line on rush hour I got to it from water beach to Saint Pancras and taken the other tubes to get to it then I went from 1 of the Victoria line station which is notorious for its passengers and taken a 317 to cambridge where I got a 365 night train to water beach

Yuki Gersaniba oh ok
Well there are only 8 stations on the jubilee line that have platform edge doors between North Greenwich and Westminster.
RoscoTrain107 ok
Why does the announcement says “Please stand back from the platform edge” if the Jubilee line stations have PSD in it?
I mean your not the only person to ask the same question.

Were the platform edge doors always there?

@@r4ls3i60 yes
Great video on trains mate 😊👍
Thanks
I'm not entirely sure if the stand back from the platform edge announcements are necessary!😂😂

Really good station
Thank you
By the way did you know the jubilee line platforms at Westminster are stacked
mallou faussou I know and I have mentioned it in the description as well
Brilliant
I don't understand why it says "stand back from the platform edge" even though the doors are there.

No problem
I do. I still love it.
I like the propulsion
Cool
Sianna on the Jubilee line
is the air gap at the top sealed off? or is the top above the PSDs empty?
Good Question. Likely Empty
0:36 turn it to 2x speed
Sheesh rush hour speedy
Well sort of although this was actually filmed on a Sunday which at the time was in some ways like rush hour
