I remember when it all fell apart. Prince got traded. We lost our Aces. Young promising talent in JD and Castellanos were practically given away. Miggy began a sting of injuries that by the end left him shell of the absolute spectacle he was to watch. (He's the greatest hitter of all time and I'll fight anyone to the death to defend it). We had some sparks of light here and there. But it never lasted. We went from one of the darkest ages in tigers baseball to one of the most beautiful Renaissances in baseball history. Sure we never pulled that series championship, but I'd give anything to see the 2006 to 2013 seasons for the first time again. It was some of the most beautiful baseball I'd ever seen and the city of Detroit needed it.
2012-2013 has got to be the best roster this franchise has ever had..... we should have had 2 world series...Mr I, the fans, the team, the city deserved it.... bless you boys
Man I miss this team. I miss this Detroit. I from Detroit I was in high school and we loved watching the tigers . I stopped watching after this season too.
2023, crazy this was 10 years ago. Hope we can get back to this winning exciting baseball. This team was so dominant, sad we never got to see a World Series title from our boys.
Not that long ago. I remember when the Tigars sucked all threw the 90s and early 00s. They had a good long run should of won a world series but they'll be back before you know it. Great franchise. Coming from a Cardinals fan.
To see Mariano’s reactions on both those Homers by Cabrera is priceless. Just 2 legends going at it. You’ll never see something like that again (Best hitter in the game at that time vs The best closer of all time)
ALDS game 4 was so awesome. I had fantastic 3rd base, 28th row seats. That place was nuts when Scherzer loaded the bases and struck out the next 2 and the pop out for the 3rd. That was insane!
Now that was a great video.. Thank you. I could not take my eyes off it.. and you had a great start to it.. Having Ernie START IT.... was just pure Detroit.. I have it bookmarked to enjoy
This brings back old memories when I asked my mom and dad when we where coming back after the world series loss and here I am writing this message in 2021 and Cabrera is the last tiger from this wonderful decade😭. DETROIT TIGER FAN FOR LIFE. Hang in there fans we will come back someday. Just keep are heads high and believe.🤟
This is honestly beautiful. So crazy to think we get to live in the era of Miggy and JV. People in 100 years will be wondering what it was like to be around when giants among men played. Even if we haven't won a World Series yet, these are some of the most talented teams ever put together. Just take some time to marvel and know that we are so blessed. Thank you for this video.
I have been at some awesome tigers games. I went to JV's first no-hitter game, I went to the 2012 ALCS game against the Yankees, and I went to the game last year where we had that 6 run comeback against the white Sox. WOW
I was at that Sox game too! I remember everyone left and then when the Tigers came back all the people who left were begging to come back into the stadium.
OMG, Verlander, Sanchez, Scherzer, Fister and Smyly along with that lineup and they couldn't' win a game in the WS? Leyland just didn't have them ready I guess, but man do I miss that team and those players. Many are still playing and still productive today, just not as Tigers. Dombrowski did what he had to do and delivered some great teams. just could not win the whole thing. What a run, now we're on a run of a different kind. Been tough, very though.
That was a great video. Thanks for all of the good memories. Also thanks for sparing me for what happened in the ALCS vs. Boston. We had that series. The umps made some bad calls that were in the strike zone and Boston won a game the never should have won. The Tigers should have been in the World Series or even won it that year.
I really thought the 2013 Tigers were going to be this generations 1968 and 1984. If they would have just had a more solid bullpen it would have been a World Series winner. Still one of the best Tigers seasons of my 50 years
This was the year torii hunter became my favorite player to exist his soul played a big part in the chemistry of that team watching prince hit the ball so far it hits the roof, Miggy having such an amazing season yet again he seemed unstoppable. The pitching lineup was just unfair. Max, jv, Sanchez, porcello, and fister. V mart being one of the best switch hitters it’s just was simply beautiful. I remember watching most of these clips on tv and just wow it chokes me up.
We had crowds that didn't lead to illness and death. We cared about baseball. Mr. I built a team we could be proud of. The fans knew the player's names. What a brief exquisite moment in Detroit sports history. It's all gone now. Nothing left but death, illness, fear, and boredom. I wish I'd appreciated it more back then. I thought the good times would last forever.
I still truly believe in my heart, had the Tigers let Leyland go after that 2012 WS embarrassment and brought in Terry Francona, they would have won the WS in 2013.
Honestly everyone can say that 2012 was the best of the final three years with jim leyland, but i say it was this year-2013, it had that feeling of magic, and i can say with 100% confidence that the 2013 ALCS was the best playoff series that year, so i'm not shameful of losing to a great opponent, it was just "their year"
I agree. 2013 was the best team Leyland had, and the ALCS was a great series - frustrating as much because the series could have easily gone the other way around.
Dude last year was my favorite year ever since I was not alive in 1984 this year we will win the World Series and JV can finally get a WON World Series.
Are you a Cardinals fan and a Tigers fan....? Bro that's messed up... That's like being a Packers fan AND a Bears fan or a Celtics fan AND a Lakers fan OR a Red Sox fan AND a Yanks fan
Thanks, Alex, for putting that together--it was awesome. Lotza great memories last year, but I'm thinkin' there's better days ahead this year...go Tigers!!!
wow man that was amazing! thanks for making this video i bet i will still be watching this a year from now and u deserve so many more views... What an unbelievably epic video!! thanks again:)
Well i went to the post game today and WOW verlander on fire it seems like we have a great chance at world series this year and the new manager FANTASTIC we stole about 7 or 8 bases and NOT ONE THROWN out out of all the prospects i saw im said that some will be kicked because what i saw was a baseball team that wants a win i saw beatiful plays and great pitching even by a prospect i have full confidence in this new manager in my opinion he knows what he wants (world series) and he knows how to get it.
i was at the game when Max struck out Davis bases loaded, hypest and loudest game ive ever been to at Comerica! i loved this season so much i miss this team and i miss Leyland...
I'm a Red Sox fan who would like to thank the tigers and their fans for a exciting and challenging series, the red sox may have edged out the tigers in the end but the series was remarkably close and could have gone either way. so what i'm saying is the tigers and their fans should feel no shame as the tigers have become one of the more successful teams in the past few years and gave the red sox a run for their money. the tigers should continue to reach the postseason often in the next few years with their talented pitchers and and maybe eventually get their well deserved turn to hoist the world series trophy. I do however have a little advice for the team, for the tigers their starters are great but their bullpen is a bit lackluster, they should bring in some good closers which should solve the problem just my opinion anyway. look forward to my Sox taking them on again in the postseason soon!

That team should have won the World Series that year. What happened in Boston was incredible! "Big Poppie" was a long time Tigers' nemesis and he was once again in that series. Bummer it had to end the way it did.
This was back when life made sense
😭😭😭😭
This comment aged well
Tony very well
Lmaooo right 😂😂
And look at us now, in 2021. My god I wish we could go back in time.
Breaks my heart these guys didn't go all the way. What a team, what a time to be alive. I miss that club so much.
Over 10 years later, we have a chance to see them do something magical again
Need a 2024 update set to this song. Gritty Tigs baby
This tigers team was truly something incredible. watching this as a little boy with my grandpa brings back beautiful memories.
watching this team fall apart slowly after jim leyland left was a pain
@@mr_chliken9088 yeah

How the hell did we get swept in the World Series
9 years later i still wonder that
giants cheated with pine tar and steroids all regular season and seasons before wouldn't be surprised if they did it there too.
Tigers came into it completely cold thanks to having to wait a week for the results of the stupid Giants Cardinals NLCS
@@DaileInspiration grow up
I’m pretty sure in 2013 the Tigers lost in the alcs to Boston.
2012-2013 has got to be the best roster this franchise has ever had..... we should have had 2 world series...Mr I, the fans, the team, the city deserved it.... bless you boys
This is tough to watch, we should've won it all this year, and it's been downhill ever since. Killer
never take down this video, pure gold. 2013 was one of my favorite seasons for the tigers it brings back so many great memories
Tom Ryan I miss it man.
2013 team would beat any team now in my opinion
Saiyan Ninja fax
The tigers have been terrible ever since Mr I passed away.
SuperMaxx
Loved his fire...
Ah... The memories of Austin Jackson.
sam irwin agreed
tigers legend … never let him die babu

Ha.. I still come back here whenever I need a good cry.. God that year was amazing
Man I miss this team. I miss this Detroit. I from Detroit I was in high school and we loved watching the tigers . I stopped watching after this season too.
2018 & this is still amazing
It's 2019 and they suck
@@closeet293 2020 comming up
Yes, we are still watching this. Yes it is still awesome.
It really hurts because almost none of these guys are still on the team. Not even the announcers are the same.
2023, crazy this was 10 years ago. Hope we can get back to this winning exciting baseball. This team was so dominant, sad we never got to see a World Series title from our boys.
I'm a tigers fan and i miss those days
Chandra Males yes, we all do.

Ryan Neistat they doing better this year
I miss this team
I love being a Tigers fan and living in Michigan. They're simply amazing
Welcome to 2020
Are you a fan now? Probably not.
I don’t know about living in Michigan. The weather is absolutely horrible.
RIP diehard tigers fans
I love the tigers and this video almost made me cry and idk why. lol GO TIGERS!!!
Remember the 2012 World Series? Lol
To see Mariano’s reactions on both those Homers by Cabrera is priceless. Just 2 legends going at it. You’ll never see something like that again (Best hitter in the game at that time vs The best closer of all time)
Now they've both gone down as one of the greatest of all time in their categories
I find myself watching this video every year the tigers struggle.
Oh if Scherzer had stayed.
What could have been.
He's got a ring now so it was for the best.
I used to watch almost every single game on tv with my dad and my brothers in our living room. Good memories.
A modern sports tragedy that those Tigers teams didn’t win one World Series
This is so good
I still come back and watch this here and there. Memories.
I love the Tigers, can't wait for spring training.
I was 14 in 84. Seems like yesterday. I'll never forget that summer. Nothing compares.
ALDS game 4 was so awesome. I had fantastic 3rd base, 28th row seats. That place was nuts when Scherzer loaded the bases and struck out the next 2 and the pop out for the 3rd. That was insane!
Leyland and his game of bullpen roulette killed our season. We were the best team in baseball and it wasn't close.
Now that was a great video.. Thank you. I could not take my eyes off it.. and you had a great start to it.. Having Ernie START IT.... was just pure Detroit.. I have it bookmarked to enjoy
Thanks so much!
Every couple of months I come back and watch this video... truly amazing how much fun this team was to watch, I’ll never forget it
Bring a tear to my eye 🥲one day we will return to glory and fans in the stands
We would be 500 rn if we had a good consistent bullpen
We were truly spoiled 😢
This brings back old memories when I asked my mom and dad when we where coming back after the world series loss and here I am writing this message in 2021 and Cabrera is the last tiger from this wonderful decade😭. This was the year man :/
Back when I used to watch every game. I vividly remember all of these. Can’t say the same for anything the Tigs have done since 2017
I was literally bawling, thank you so much for the amazing recap of our valiant run. God bless.

They need to make it to the series, and win one. They've done it once in my lifetime, but I was too young to remember it.

Thank you soooo much for this video!!!! It's beautiful!!! 2013 was an incredible season! We love our Tigers!!
