    Great visuals and audibles! I'm wondering why there is so much "energy" to the audio in the fields, almost as if you're at the ocean. When you change to your clip mic, it doesn't sound nearly as windy.

    I can't belive this mic came out 12 years ago, and there is still not many videos talking about it or testing it. I just bought one second hand, I hope is not 12 years old haha this video made me wanna buy one and start doing some libraries as well.

    • @FreeToUseSounds
      @FreeToUseSounds  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! Thats what I thought too when we bought it. We tried to make more videos but we just gave it a friend and he sends it back to DPA because of interference issues. If you have time, could you do a test recording in a busy city or even just hold your phone over the DPA and listen if you get the same issue? Recording in nature is not a problem but its impossible to record in cities. I tried to drive around Chiang Mai to record for a 5.1 interior sound library but after a couple hundred meters the fun was over. Power cables are everywhere but I wasn't expecting such interference. So it could be just my model but if you have time, please let me know.

      Hello! got news, I already have the mic and I was testing it, I live in Monterrey, Mexico, there is a lot of power cables as well around here, but not so sure of the issue you are talking about, i didn't notice it but I did have an issue a couple times, it's like the R channel has some ground noise to it at times, sometimes it powers up with a loud and wobbly hiss sound, this noise floor it's just so annoying, but it just happens on the R channel, I found a workaround where I connect and disconnect the R xlr with the phantom on (i know, dangerous, i know) but it seems to work just fine after I do that, Idk why this happens, but I will keep continue the testing and updates as well, I'm going to tell about that issue to the person that sell it to me, he told us it was perfect and tested, I believe is the cable, I'm just not sure to how to know if it is the cable or the mic. you can email me at zinglaterry.nectar at gmail for the testing recordings. thanks! I record on a SD 664 @@FreeToUseSounds

    Amazing video!
    Is there any way to buy the library recorded with this mic?
    Also, I have a RODE NT-SF1 but I'm really curious about the difference with this mic.
    Would you say you prefer this over the Rode?
    Is there a big difference in quality?
    Thanks!

  • @MrHamit64

    Oh that's no fair. RUclips doesn't support 5.1. Where can we hear this in actual 5.1?

    • @FreeToUseSounds
      @FreeToUseSounds  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hmm, we uploaded it as 5.1. Maybe google RUclips supports 5.1. Hope that helps?

      @@FreeToUseSounds Ah I'll have to try the video on my laptop connected to my TXSR 373 5.2 AVR then. I was just saying I remembered Google at 1 point didn't support multi channal. Or maybe it's just Atmos.

  • @hamitcampos4989
    @hamitcampos4989 6 месяцев назад

    When you say that DPA set these up perfectly, what do you mean? Is this a kit like Shopes's ORTF 3D set? The reason I bought the Zoom H6 was to do just this. Though now I need the mics.
    However now I have the H8 so 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos.

    • @FreeToUseSounds
      @FreeToUseSounds  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. If you go to the DPA website, search for DPA 5100. Its perfect kit. You need 6 channels. If you can’t link all channels its a little bit more difficult. Thats why I use a MixPre 10ii with it.

    • @hamitcampos4989
      @hamitcampos4989 6 месяцев назад

      @@FreeToUseSounds Ah I see.
      So an F6 or a Mix Pre would be better then? The H8 has bilt in 6 channels too.

    • @FreeToUseSounds
      @FreeToUseSounds  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@hamitcampos4989 Oh yes that's correct but I don't remember if you can link all six channels and control with one knob. That makes it all easier but when recording all mono tracks you could create a 5.1 in post. The Mix Pre does a fantastic job with linking. But just a word of warning. I sent the DPA unit back to DPA for repair. So it has RF issues.

    • @hamitcampos4989
      @hamitcampos4989 6 месяцев назад

      @@FreeToUseSounds Yes well no you can't link with the H recorders.
      On all the F ones you of course can.
      Where can 1 hear the actual WAV files though? Especially the 5 40 mics I would love to truely hear the brightness with the birds peace.
      But even this in 5.1.
      Again RUclips compresses supposedly.
