Being able to run and play without fear of being taken or hurt by someone. We used to ride our bikes all afternoon all around our neighborhood, never once worried about being abducted. Walked to and from school…….. it was a great time to be a kid!
You do know that it isn't the risk of children being abducted that's gone up, but the fear of it happening? I feel sorry for kids today: they have so little freedom & live these circumscribed, constantly monitored lives all because cable, and later the internet, gave us a 24-hour news cycle that needed to be constantly filled.
1960s were the best years to be a kid.... when kids could still be kids. There were no, computers, no internet, no cell phones, life was lived here and now as it happened.

They seemed to really want to protect and serve back then .

Oh man the sixties. What an incredible time to be alive. Those of us born in the 50’ had a fantastic time in the 60’ & the 70’. Life was just so carefree. We would get up early in the summer go out all day and go home about 6ish for our tea. A picnic for us was a sugar butty & a bottle of tap water. 🤣🤣🤣👍
I always remember the Sixties with fond memories. The music was great!. Then I am reminded why the music is what it is. There was so much turmoil during the 60's. The civil rights movement, integration, lowering the voting age from 21 to 18, the draft, VN, fighting 'the establishment,' politics, all kinds of protests from the very peaceful - to the riots, just so, so many issues that now aren't even issues.
I was born in 51 and I remember the 60s well when everything was fun . There was an explosion of new types of art, not just music but painting and sculpture and world music like Ravi Shankar sitar player. There were plenty of jobs and the government helped apprentices learn skills. Everyone was smiling unlike now where cheerfulness is smothered in political correctness . Come the 80s it all changed and the gloom settled over our country.
Back when unions were strong and a young man just out of high school could join a union, get given a job for on the job training and attend apprentice school usually once a week. Then came Reagan, broke the unions, cut pay which led to lost benefits.

I graduated! Loved the bell-bottom pants. The dark side; Charles Manson & his hippie murdering followers, Vietnam, loose morals, marijuana, but some great songs came out and are still being played today.
Now marijuana is becoming legal in some states. One reason they made pot a federal offence was that Nixon didn't like the war protesters but couldn't arrest them due to the 1st amendment. So he helped make pot illegal so he could arrest them for something else. Pot is still better than alcohol.
Thanks...got them all. Yes, I remember the sixties... the best was the freedom to explore myself and the world, and the worst was that it ended! Thanks for the quiz.
Doing these Quiz programmes keeps my brain alert. At 71 this wiz of 40 questions I puff my chest out and got 34 correct. I try to do any quiz questions at least twice a week. 😊
@@RootofEcstasy I'm so happy that I lived through that period. I try to explain what it was like to young people, and they are in awe of what I describe.
Kids went out and played, explored, socialized. Watched classic television and listened to the amazing progression of rock and pop music. The family was the centerpiece. Dinners, visits to relatives, vacations. What wonderful memories.
1960 turned 13, great music, great fashion (for the young) a real change was made. Movies and TV had great shows, many were made into movies eg Star Trek. Also it was the birth of colour TV.
Born in '65 but I got them all right. I have always said I was born 20 years too late. At heart, I have always thought of myself as a displaced 60's child. God, how I would have loved to have been able to go to Woodstock.

I never wore a beehive hairdo but my mom sure did. It was an hours long process, endured once a week at the beauty parlor. My sister and I got dragged along. The rest of the week she wore a foam contraption around her hair/head at night to keep it in shape and minimize damage while she slept. Thnx for the memory!
All the best songs were written and recorded and became hits on the radio. Now, a ton of those songs are hits all over again due to being used in commercials on TV. My son asked why do I already know the song when it's a new commercial? I said it's because all the songs were big hits back in the 60's. LOL I also made a record with Andy Williams in those days. Proud mama here.
The draft lottery started on Dec. 1, 1969. Unluckily for me, I was drafted before that and started basic training on July 11th. During my six weeks of basic training, there were four historical events. Only one of them that I knew about at the time. Of course, the moon landing was the big event. July 20th was declared a national holiday and we got the day off and they brought a TV into the barracks for us. We all sat around and watched the grainy picture for hours. The other three events I didn't know about until after basic. One day before the moon landing was the Chappaquiddick incident, which ruined any chance of another Kennedy becoming president. The Manson family Tate murders happened Aug 9th, and then Woodstock Aug 15th (my sister was there). In the span of less than six weeks, four big events. What a wild time that was!
Four wrong! I got six wrong on the 70’s quiz. I’m born in 1958. The 60’s were a very special time in human societal development! I’m so glad I lived it! Peace
Born in 1951 so aged 10 to 19, the music is unique in that it has lasted and is still popular today (2022). There were tunes you could learn, words that could be heard and songs were generally 2 1/2 minutes long - to fit on a single 45 rpm record. This was the decade where young people learned to grow up and their actions set the route for the future. The Hippies and the Peace Movement led to the Vietnam War stopping, Woodstock set the pattern for the Isle of Wight and Glastonbury - which continue to today. That was OUR decade and I am proud to have lived through it and learned from it.
I was a child so obviously, I remember the 60s fondly because I was in my halcyon years. I had no knowledge of anything outside of my reach. Canada's birthday was 1967 and we had just immigrated here the year before so I remember the parties and picnics well. The 'worst' fashion was not a particular item but all the fabrics for kids were scratchy. A lot of nylon and polyester that burned the back of your knees when you sat in school LOL.
MUSIC was the best EVER, Fashion was great and the general feeling was amazing to the young kids of the time!!! And I got into Motorbikes and still ride!!!
Born in1948. If you weren't there it is so difficult to describe. You were u lucky to miss it, now 75 and thr music lives on everywhere mkst pop now has all been done before and better. It's in adverts on tv and films. Beach boys and beatles wonderfull.
Almost too easy! I am so pleased I grew up in the 60's - a great time to be a child. 50's weren't too bad but my recollections of the 60's are more vivid.
Best thing: psychedelics, who can forget orange sunshine, purple barrels, peyote. The worst: Manson, end of the era of peace and love. I'm not a hippie or a burnout 😊 just grew up in that era.
In junior high school my class mates talked about drinking beer while I was talking about pot. They thought I was nuts. Years later, when they started smoking pot, I told them about peyote. Again, they thought I was nuts.
I was tripping through most of the sixties so this test should be tough. Maybe I should have taken more, I didn't need the multiple choice 70 percent of the time and missed two.

Until then we wore the same gear our parents wore, we were mini mes', but in the 60s we had our own young fashions. Loved them. Boys grew their hair long and it was clean and well groomed. Good things to remember clothes, buying my first car, working, boys my long hair, meeting my soon to be husband ,fun . Bad things War, Racism, Drugs. Good times and bad times, but we miss our loved ones 💔 who have passed away.
I was born in 1949 so I spent all my teens in the 60s. Although I live in the UK I still did reasonably well scoring a respectable 33 out of 40. Thanks "Quizzes 4U" and greetings from Scarborough England. ❤
I ALSO WAS BORN IN 1949..DECEMBER 1. THE SIXTIES WERE MY PRETEEN AND TEEN YEARS: HIGH SCHOOL AUGUST 1963 TO JUNE 16, 1967 AND COLLEGE AUGUST 1967 TO MAY 15, 1971
THE SIXTIES WERE THE BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE!
By the late 1960s my sister and I were REALLY into the music and attending every concert within our local area. I miss that time in my life.
The best thing about the swinging sixties was being in Liverpool where everything happened, life was great
This was really a trip down memory lane🥰🥰🥰thankyou
I lived in London for four years in the 60s,a wonderful time, without knowing how wonderful it was,I got 35 out of 40,it was the best of times.
I spent my childhood in the 1960s. Primary school level. Beatles fan, bubble gum chewer, Dinky toy cars crazy, Elvis Presley movies, Star Trekker, skinny freckled faced kid.
I was a little girl in the 60s. The worst was all the civil unrest and assassinations that occurred.
The best thing for me was learning to play guitar in the garage with the other guys....."House of the Rising Sun"........ Animals !! The worst was drugs & Vietnam war. I served in the USAF. Weapons worker bee 🐝
A lot of good (space program, Woodstock, some awesome cars) but also bad (assassinations, Vietnam), but overall, I had a great childhood in the 60's. Thanks for the quiz. I missed six.
If you were there, growing up in the '60s as I did, you'd know that the '60s are very hard to forget. 😂👍🏻❤️
The Vietnam War was the worst of the 60's. It was awful looking through the newspaper!! Woodstock, the mood ring, baldy ring, my brothers not being drafted, Twiggy, Laugh In, getting a bicycle were some of the best things for me personally.
Thank you for sharing. I've never heard of a mood ring.🤔
1968 Tigers won the last true World Series.
@@Quizzes4U it was a plastic jewel with a heat sensitive chemical that changed colors with temperature, claimed to show how excited by your finger’s temperature. The same principle is used in thermometers placed on the forehead.
@@TomCee53 There was an insane craze in the 1970s for mood rings, right around 1975-1976 IIRC. Sorta went hand-in-hand with the disco trend.
@@xaenon
Exactly . Mood rings were definitely a 70's fad.
I had a partial beehive hairdo. You had to rat your hair to make it puffy. It was hard as heck to undo all the tangles afterwards.
Some of the best quizzes I have found on youtube. I use them in my support groups for people living with dementia and they love them. Perfect format with the choice of answers, which helps to jog memories.
Thanks, that's awesome news. Glad they are helpful 😊
I remember the 50s very well. The best decade of all.
It was mostly peaceful revolutionary time.
what issues aren't issues? It isn't gays, racism, or war
@@orestlozowskij4143 no it wasn't.
Born in 1958. Lots of turmoil in the 60s. Loved the hippies.
I still remember the 60's. I still get flashbacks man.
I was born in 1950 so remember the 60s well. Got 36 right. Appreciate your hard work and dedication.
Yes is was a good time but hard as well. The Vietnam War was brought to us every night on the news as well as all the protests.
@@Dstrbrdgrnd Thank God for Ronald Reagan.
Damn! I'm old enough to get everyone of those questions right without having to think about them. 😲
Know the feeling...🙃
Daze: Same for me. on question 40(The last question) the choices were Huey, Duey and luey are.(please forgive the spelling)
"The Eagle has landed" I well remember those words! Missed 3 on this quiz and as always learned from it!👍
Tranquility base here, the Eagle has landed.
@@larryjones8848 Thank you for the entire phrase, Larry. Getting old I guess...LOL. 😄
I grew up in the 60s. Best music & bands...
Q-35/40. A 1950’s Baby-Boomer here good times & memories but every decade of my life has been awesome!.Thank you for making my day a good one with your outstanding game Quizzes-4-U!.🌎🌍🌏
I graduated! Loved the bell-bottom pants. The dark side; Charles Manson & his hippie murdering followers, Vietnam, loose morals, marijuana, but some great songs came out and are still being played today.
My favorite parts were the marijuana and loose morals! 😃
Now marijuana is becoming legal in some states. One reason they made pot a federal offence was that Nixon didn't like the war protesters but couldn't arrest them due to the 1st amendment. So he helped make pot illegal so he could arrest them for something else. Pot is still better than alcohol.
@@susanjerrell9220 LOL.....thnx
Thanks...got them all. Yes, I remember the sixties... the best was the freedom to explore myself and the world, and the worst was that it ended! Thanks for the quiz.
Doing these Quiz programmes keeps my brain alert. At 71 this wiz of 40 questions I puff my chest out and got 34 correct. I try to do any quiz questions at least twice a week. 😊
The sixties were truly the age of Aquarius. It's almost impossible to explain.
Yeah, if you weren't there it is impossible to explain.
It was a great and beautiful cultural flowering.
And now ? 😢
@@RootofEcstasy I'm so happy that I lived through that period. I try to explain what it was like to young people, and they are in awe of what I describe.
I got them all. That pretty much dates me. More on Woodstock would have been fun since I was there.
You're a liar.
Good range of questions and well paced.
Best part of the 60's - I was young, cute and living in New Orleans
Living through these times helped... 60s.. Were the best.
Best music ever was in the 60's!!!
Born in '65 but I got them all right. I have always said I was born 20 years too late. At heart, I have always thought of myself as a displaced 60's child. God, how I would have loved to have been able to go to Woodstock.
HHMMM! I'm not saying you are prone to stretch the truth, BUT I'd have to be there to back your claim with money! Now, if you did that on the second try, OK, I'm with you!
@@palerider420 By saying that you are not saying I'm prone to stretching the truth, you are actually saying that very thing.
I don't think I've ever met you as I'm sure I'd remember one such as you. So I'm at a loss to understand how you could have the gall to judge whether or not I have the intellectuality to complete a not very taxing quiz.
It matters not whether you or anyone else chooses to believe it or not.
That's so funny. Thank you for sharing. I can't see that coming back in fashion any time soon.😂
You mean she washed her hair ONCE a week?? Eyewww!
My mom did the same and a manicure. She worked as a waitress
European "beehives" didn't look like that one though, think Amy Winehouse if you want to envisage my best friend!
@@zoyarajennursingh949 Yep. Once a week shampoos (yeah, ick)
The Sixties. Wonderful. England was still English.
What a wild time that was!
best thing about sixties I was young.
32/40, but I was born in '61. Remember some of those conflicts from the news, which our parents always watched. Thanks to them x
Thank you for sharing. I remember scratchy pullovers as a child. 🙄
MUSIC was the best EVER, Fashion was great and the general feeling was amazing to the young kids of the time!!! And I got into Motorbikes and still ride!!!
The best phrase I have ever heard is: "If you remember the 60's, you weren't there." !!
34/40 , Donald Duck's nephews.

Almost too easy! I am so pleased I grew up in the 60's - a great time to be a child. 50's weren't too bad but my recollections of the 60's are more vivid.
Wonderful era. Very innovative
The best thing about the sixties was the creativity that took place in almost anything one can think of.
As I recall, the best things about the 60's was that we got our first tv, telephone, and indoor plumbing.
The BEST part of the 60's for me was my 1969 Pontiac GTO
454 Chevalle here.
Best thing: psychedelics, who can forget orange sunshine, purple barrels, peyote. The worst: Manson, end of the era of peace and love. I'm not a hippie or a burnout 😊 just grew up in that era.
Owsley window pane.
In junior high school my class mates talked about drinking beer while I was talking about pot. They thought I was nuts. Years later, when they started smoking pot, I told them about peyote. Again, they thought I was nuts.
@@bjbell52 I witnessed the greatest, most mind blowing sunset on peyote. At least I think it was a sunset....
I was tripping through most of the sixties so this test should be tough. Maybe I should have taken more, I didn't need the multiple choice 70 percent of the time and missed two.
33 out of 40.
I was born in '71, so, kinda proud of that score!
26 right answers and the best part about the 60s I was 10 years old and the people we’re really groovy,
Loved the sixties the fashion and of course the music it was an innocent era until the latter part
Innocent? It was the losing of innocence. Sex, drugs, war, civil rights awareness.
@@missmayflower I’m Australian we saw on the news what was happening in the 60s in the states no it was not an innocent time for you. we had no racist uprising, or promiscuity, no drugs, that all came in in the late 60s

Couldn't remember the closing act @ Woodstock & I can't remember the other one I couldn't remember...!
The 60s is memorable for a lot of good things but there's also the dark side. Cuban Missile Crisis, racial discrimination, Vietnam.....
Agreed.
The cars and the music were fantastic, especially from 65-69
Has to be the best decade for music . Hendrix is still the one true god for me
"Boney & Skinny" for the "Twiggy" options made me laugh.
Me too. I was just a child but I do remember Twiggy with her short hair.
I enjoyed the quiz
That's great. Thanks for watching.😀
The 60s was the best. Mini skirts, the music, the fashion. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Chubby Checker. Until then we wore the same gear our parents wore, we were mini mes', but in the 60s we had our own young fashions. Loved them. Boys grew their hair long and it was clean and well groomed. Everyone was well groomed. We all tried to look our best. I was a gogo dancer in a cage. Knee high boots, hot pants. Everything and everyone was colourful. It was the best of times to be young. ❤
