The worst thing about this show is how the writers think they are smarter than Tolkien without even reading his works. The best part of the books is the mastery of language Tolkien shows. He never used complicated metaphors or "big words" to convey things like they try to do in this show. He used words effectively without bloat to make the meaning clear instead of trying to flex some form of intellectuality trying to sound smarter that the readers.
Also they made the whole plot needlessly complicated by randomizing the order of events that did happen in the books mixed with their own ship culture fan fiction. For example they completely reversed the order the rings were made. So they now have to make nonsensical plot points to tie together other nonsensical plot points that come from putting together events that happened hundreds of years apart.

Just think for a moment how this is what going to be 8 episodes in total, each being an one hour long. So around eight to nine hours... now in eight of nine hours you could be in the home stretch of finishing watching Return of the King. See how much fluff these tvs shows have, and that fluff could be transformed into moments of character growth. I know more about side characters like Eowyn, Arwen, Pippin, Merry, Boromir, Treebeard, Théoden, Saruman and so on and what their total screen time in those films is tiny compared to the ROP main characters. I know their motives, beliefs, personality and so. We get entire character arcs complete in just a few short scenes in LOTR, in this I don't think we see an arc ever get complete. Characters flip flop through their motives, beliefs and personality more than I do, deciding which flavour ice cream I want to eat.

A question not about LOTR but about Twitter, why do you have your Twitter in your RUclips bio if people need to be accepted to follow you? Have found it hard to bring this point up as there really is no way to contact you personally as you don't use Patreon, did pay $1 to check it out but found it had not been posted on in months, and you didn't seem to read messages sent there either. The only other way would be the e-mail, but as it looks to be for business I assume you only look at that for sponsors or stuff like that.
And writing this in a 2 day old RUclips video with over 1k comments will most likely not been seen, so posting a comment within the first hour of you uploading a new video the only way to be noticed by you? I do know you have gotten a lot of hate from people so can see why you protect your Twitter, but if you don't want people to go to it why put it in your bio? I did send a request for following but I assume you have a long list of those and most likely ignore those by know.
This all came to mind when I did see you brought up that you had posted something on Twitter and had some of your followers respond to it, so wonder if only old followers (those that followed you before you protected your Twitter) are allowed to see stuff you post on Twitter, or if there is another way for us who maybe don't use Twitter as much and was not following you before you protected it, if we have some way of following it now?

Galadriel picked out the trained fighters to accompany Elrond. Why would she ever need to tell them to "prepare yourselves"? They should already have their weapons drawn. And one of them just died, so why is Galadriel giving this order she's not supposed to be giving in such a calm manner? If the people you hand picked turned out to be utterly incompetent, you shouldn't be calm.

hair on your head, just like hair on your skin, is not there to keep you warm. it's also not there to make us "look good." it's a sensory organ, serving a specific functional purpose. the hair on your skin detects very light and nearby electromagnetic changes. likewise, the longer hair on your head is for detecting even more distant and lower-frequency changes. your ability to empathize with someone depends your ability to feel what they are feeling and your hair is an antenna for receiving and broadcasting those feelings. it is your mind-reading organ. that's why its so important for militaries to shave the heads of soldiers who have no use for empathy, its why women have both stereotypes of having longer hair and being more empathic, why women who cut their hair are seen as being colder, why men with lots of facial hair are associated with introspection, why mammals (the branch with hair) are more familial, and why someone with 2-foot long hair will almost universally be recognized as non-aggressive "hippy" even by total strangers from different cultures.
this is long known from druidic culture and you can bet Tolkien knew this and thats why all the elves had signature long hair. its actually a big deal that the elves are being depicted with shaved heads, much moreso than their skin color.

"For it was in the one thousand six hundred and first year of the Third Age that the Fallohide brothers, Marcho and Blanco, set out from Bree; and having obtained permission from the high king at Fornost, they crossed the brown river Baranduin with a great following of Hobbits. They passed over the Bridge of Stonebows, that had been built in the days of the power of the North Kingdom and they took all the land beyond to dwell in, between the river and the Far Downs. All that was demanded of them was that they should keep the Great Bridge in repair, and all other bridges and roads, speed the king's messengers, and acknowledge his lordship."
The Lord of the Rings, Prologue, Concerning Hobbits
    ...
"Occasionally the Hobbits of Bree went as far as Buckland, or the Eastfarthing;... their little land was not much further than a day's riding east of the Brandywine Bridge....
The Fellowship of the Ring, LoTR Book 1, Ch 9, At the Sign of the Prancing Pony
[On] the outskirts of Bucklebury [they] struck the main road of Buckland that ran south from the Bridge.
The Fellowship of the Ring, LoTR Book 1, Ch 5, A Conspiracy Unmasked
[Buckland] was originally unprotected from the East; but on that side they had built a hedge: the High Hay.... It ran all the way from Brandywine Bridge, in a big loop curving away from the river, to Haysend....
The Fellowship of the Ring, LoTR Book 1, Ch 5, A Conspiracy Unmasked
The four hobbits stepped off the [Buckleberry Ferry]....
On the far stage..., they could just make out a figure....
'Thank goodness you don't keep any boats on the west-bank!' said Frodo. 'Can horses cross the river?'
'They can go ten 1 miles north to Brandywine Bridge - or they might swim,' answered Merry. 'Though I never heard of any horse swimming the Brandywine.'
The Fellowship of the Ring, LoTR Book 1, Ch 5, A Conspiracy Unmasked
It was a good forty miles from the Bridge to Bag End....
The contrived way they write this script and the convoluted story in this show is unbelievable!!!! They seriously just narratively decided to offscreen destroy this bridge for no reason :)...when the Elves could have easily used other roads like cross the river at Sarn Ford (they would then entirely avoid entering the Barrow Downs :))...which additionally at this time were still safe...as the Wights were not haunting it yet....it was only much later in THIRD Age...NOT the Second Age that these Barrow-wights appeared :)!!!!!!!!!

I do find it odd that Gil-galad, under the influence of his own ring, would give Elrond such an important task. However, if the ring is NOT affecting him and he is of level head, I can easily see him being reasoned with and recognizing that what Elrond did was an act for the good of the realm. Assuming Gil-galad is now aware that the rings were made with Sauron's magic, Elrond would be a hero in his eyes, risking not only his loyalty, but his life to save all of elfkind and the entire world. So in short, Elrond's promotion makes sense ONLY if Gil-galad 1) isn't being influence by Sauron through the ring and 2) knows that Sauron's magic is in the rings. With these two conditions met, Gil-galad would recognize that Elrond was ready to silently martyr himself and disgrace his name to save everyone.

Your reaction to Tom Bombadil makes me realize three things:
1 - This show makes absolutely zero sense to someone not familiar with Tolkien
2 - Once you are familiar with Tolkien, you can only see this show as an absolute mockery and insult to his work
3 - That literally means this show is made for absolutely NO ONE.

The stuff with the ents is even worse than you think. The problem with cutting down trees is that they're the flock of the ents. They're supposed to be shepherds of the forest, not part of it. They don't care that trees are hurt they care that their trees are hurt. A forest in the second age should also have been perfectly capable of defending itself. By the third age the trees had all gone to sleep, but this is supposed to be when they were at their most vivacious. Army-killing level of vivacious, especially with their shepherds fully active.
In the books they were basically just bigger, better, magically smart trolls. More creatures of stone than wood. And the Entwives were supposed to be lost. Not killed, lost. As in, they were objects, not female ents. At the very least, they should have been immobile so there wouldn't be an expectation of them finding the ents after being "lost". It could have been interesting if they went all the way with the tree thing that Jackson added, making them essentially pinecones that would allow ents to germinate. It even would have given them their BS DEI points to have an asexual species. But that would take actual creativity.

A better question is WHY is there a black elf? Elves are not humans, they dont have the same spread of ethnicities that we do.
But its because everything has to be diverse now meaning that no group of people ever look different. everywhere you go in middle earth has the same precents of dark skin, light skin, and so on people. Even tho theres no realistic way that would happen. It also mutes any uniqueness these groups of people would have.
Just look at the half foots, doesnt matter if its a small caravan culture or these hole dwellers. you still have black and white ones. Never mind the fact that they would very quickly harmonize after a few generations.
And where did the different skin tones come from? Did a faction of dark skined shapeshifters from far off lands recently migrate here and quickly disperse their people evenly among all the humans, halfings, dwarfs and elves?
Image the next Elder Scrolls game is set in HammerFell and 30%+ of the population is white. There not even nords or imperials, no there just white redguard.
No, people would not be happy because thats NOT what they look like.

One of the special things about the Peter Jackson LOTR trilogy is that those who became fans of them remember so many dialogue lines from the movies. In almost every scene there are iconic, memorable lines. GoT in its earlier seasons also had a lot of iconic memorable lines. These TV shows that we get recently, it's not that their dialogue are bad to mid. They're also very forgettable.

Wait that's "Tom Bombadil"? Laying aside my thinking it was Radagast he wasn't meant to be called old Tom till the lord of the rings. In this era he should be old young, forn or fatherless. Even I know that and I don't even remember what those names were in the original language besides the Dwarves whose Forn is easy to remember.

How to fuck did that bridge came to be in the middle of the forest?
First all those trees would have been cut prior to building and second, none of them would be allowed to regrow back, as their roots can damage bridge supports.
As far as those plants go, all of them look like they would require quite a lot of water for irrigation. In those conditions that is pure stupidity. Once drought hits and wells dry out, they are fucked(following by dying out).

The part with the ents reminds me of the origin of the term “by hook or by crook” originally coming from restrictions on how wood could be gathered in protected forests. Essentially you could only take what could easily be broken off but could not cut anything. One version of the origin anyway.

Peter jacksons portrayal of these characters brings to life the grace and wisdom of what thousands of years of existence would bring. These are powerful people, kings and leaders with powerful magic who posess incredible insight and a presence that absolutely commands respect. The rings of power portrayal of these characters shows them as weak and stupid , and prone to the kind of failures and desires that are befitting of modern day teenagers. It makes them utterly removed from canon and shows them as soft and embarrassing individuals.

Galadriel has the power to blow up that bridge whit her magic easy so this fakes in the show is not Galadriel that is for sure.
Also no one actually knows what Tom Bombadil is but as he himself says he was the first he was old when the world was created so the closes thing people have guessed in my opinion is that he is what remains of the Song that created the World when the creator god made everything whit his minor gods Tolkein lore is cool and he intentionally left some things vague as they where never meant to be solved also at this time he is not called Tom he changes names all the time and his wife is a season.
I dont want to sound mean when i say this but Alreroi this show was in fact not made for people like you who are not big fans of Tolkein yes this show was in fact designed to appeal to Tolkein fans this is why they give you the shoots like whit Tom and many other places and people you are suppose to go WOOOOW its HIM/HER/IT OMG they just failed miserably
