- Assalam O Alaikum. Today We bring our viewers another Video of Toyota Corolla GLi Automatic. In this video we will answer a long lasting question Regarding Automatic Variant of Corolla GLi. What is the actual fuel economy of Corolla GLi Automatic? As many people agree on the fact that 11th Generation Corolla GLi is not a fuel efficient car. The power to weight ratio of Corolla GLi is low due to the fact that it comes with 1300cc DOHC VVTi engine that only produces 84Hp and 121Nm of torque which are low power figures for a car that weighs more than 1200Kg. Many people Appriciate the comfortable, Rugged and smooth drive of Corolla GLi but they also criticize the car for its lack of power and poor fuel economy.
* Today we will put this car to the test and drive it for more than 200 Km on long route consisting of Highway and GT Road.
* The Car will be driven from Lahore to Jehlum
* The Average speed of the car will be 100-120 Km/h
* We will also test the Eco mode

Good video. True mileage. Gli gives this mileage. I have grande 2018 model with 14000kms and it gives me 14 km when I am above 140. 14-16 when I am at 120 and when you are below 90kmph its average is 20 plus. Yesterday I travelled from abbottabad to Peshawar and it used 1000rs fuel. Amazing engine.

Eco didnt turned off becuase of rpm in tour situation. In gli eco turns off after 150+. Its written in mannual
Very nice video. I've been researching this model. How does it perform at higher speeds? How does the engine handle higher loads for prolonged periods?
Altis 1.6 has much much btr fuel average..in city it gives 12km/L & on Highways Altis gives 15 to 16 easily
But its expensive. People like me who buy gli dont have too much money
Yeah. And I think the guy said the same thing that altis is better. The video is about calculating the actual GLI avg. Some ppl on youtube have said that GLI gives 18+ on long routes which is unrealistic and this video proves the same.

No brother let me correct you. I have the 2018 1.6 altis it gives 9-10 with light pedal. On long it gives 15-16 with ease.

i have tested 2018 xli which is manual in city for whole day it gave me 15 fuel average in city with traffic situations / i wondered how much it would be on the long routes ....,
U can get better fuel average with light foot paddle under 3000 RPM. One v logger Mr. Abul Aziz Aka Abdi has proved 20 km/l fuel average of Gli 1.3 Automatic on motorway from LHR to ISB.
His method of testing average is different. Our average was computed after 235 km with no reset of trip A and B or resetting average ( which yields real life results ). Also we calculated average using manual way which yielded same results. Around 12 km/l
His video was a joke. He reset the average and trip A / B after every 20 km which is not the right way of calculating average. And average, by definition, has to be over a journey of atleast 150 km ++. Great work by Mr Qureshi.
Abdul aziz aka abdi is right I have travelled karachi to hyderabad total 160km+ with just 6 ltr petrol
but my new altis 1.6 2020 is giving in city only 7.2 but why any suggestions

GLI fuel average is poor but grande fuel average is much better than GLI and Altis.
Good mileage though it should have been even better
Pl do your research before posting such videos. Corolla 1.6 auto has an outdated 4 speed transmission which keeps engine rpm high. For your info 3,000 rpm @ 120km is considered high by modern standards. Such high rpm also makes car inefficient.
Also never go by the average showing on digital instrument. It can be way off. The accurate mileage is calculated by dividing the total miles driven by litres of fuel consumed.
we travel to Murree through gt road from Gujranwala in grande 2018 it give us 14 to 15 km average
Bhai apnea filter tuning krado. Gli 2020 give me 23 mileage on gt and 14 in city ok fuel average of gli is much better than civic altis and grande I have also civic but fuel average is 13.5 on gt 8.3 in city.and vego give me 11 mileage

Very poor fuel average considering the fact that the fuel was High octane.
Hi octane doesn't not have an impact on such engines. It only ensures that the engine doesn't clog up that easily. And the average is realistic. Atleast the guy didn'tie lie some videos which show GLI average as 16+

@@hassnainnawab444 as per my experience high octane gives bad fuel average, using normal fuel gives better fuel average. I have tried this on my 2018 cultus and 2017Gli

Agreed on Gli part. But current Civic and Grande give almost same fuel economy. Even if there is a difference, its very minor.
High octane has no significant impact on such cars. These cars are made for normal fuel, using high octane would cause no benefit in the performance. Its only straining your pocket.
Agree on this part. 2nz-fe engine requires 91 octane fuel for optimal performance and using octane more than that might yield no better results other than better fuel system cleaning ( which shell v nitro claims and is known for ). Will make a video on comparing normal and high octane fuel.

Trip meter reading can be more accurate.You have not set it at zero on start of journey.
After tank fill up before the start of trip odo meter reading was observed and after the test, average was also calculated manually. It was about 12 km/l

Quite bad average n more underpowered that's why went for manual gli 2017 n satisfied with it's mileage , i drive till 2k rpm in every gear till 5th gear than 2.5k rpm within city Islamabad easily i get 14-15 kmpl with AC, on GT road Islamabad to gujranwala 17-18 kmpl with AC cruising 90 kmh on motorways 16 kmpl easily as speed is 110 cruising
In same driving habbit my 2nd car swift gives 11-11.5 kmpl with AC in Islamabad n on GT road 14-15 kmpl
A 1300cc engine with 84Hp can only do so much. We have kept 11th gen Corolla Gli manual twice and our experience was not so good. The best it gave us was around 13 with driving at 2.5k rpm. Infact our Grande used to give us more average with same driving style.

Was it calculated manually? Yes that might increase. But as you can see from the video, the test included other factors such as seeing eco mode limit and sitting at idle to reflect real life scenario

Obsolete model 6 year old shape under power, total flop 1.6 altis and 1.5 yaris thousands time better.....
Gli corolla is far superior as a car than yaris due to the following:
1. engine is more tough
2. Length is more
3. Space is more
4. Back knee room is more
5. Cabin is more open
6. Gli rear seats have an arm rest
7. The back lights are more pretty
8. Yaris doesn't have alarm button in the key
9. Gli corolla trunk opening is much bigger
10. No pouch / magazine holder behind driver seat
11. Suspension is exactly the same but yaris is higher due to which it is less stable on high speeds / curves.
Why would any one buy a yaris over a gli !! What do you think ?

It depends upon which car you are talking about. Some cars come with 5-speed auto while some come with 6-speed auto. The point being made here is the difference between gearing ratio of corolla's auto and manual transmission.

Fuel was high octane that's why average was bad if you would use normal fuel then for sure it will give you better average

@@PKDMotorSport beacuase high octane burn more faster than normal fuel, as per my experience and my friends experience high octane gives bad fuel average, using normal fuel gives better fuel average. I personally have tried this on my 2018 cultus and 2017Gli, some time when I use even partial high octane then fuel average gets very bad
