@@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection Aerating the filters will help prolong the life of the filter bacteria but having it off for 24 hours will definitely kill off a lot of the beneficial bacteria! 7:25 It is quite bad to judge that they are "hungry" just because they are eating food in this condition. It seems to me that they are simply looking for food out of habit. Unfortunately, BUDO GOROMO has already been weakened from the inside out and it will be very difficult to revive it from here. Please don't think I'm being mean or sarcastic in pointing this out. I'm just stating the facts.
Thank you for your comment. The Budo Goromo was dying when I received him. He is now healthy, probably weakened but eating and swimming with no obvious or apparent problems. There is nothing I can do other than. He is not a show fish, and he is not there to be bred from. Of course some of my fish come up as a habit, not all of them. I feed by hand, not with an automatic feeder. And I would say that they are hungry after 2 days with very warm temperatures.
@@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection I have one suggestion. When she is this weak, the burden of normal artificial feed is already too heavy. Are these things available in England, for example? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371767061209?hash=item568f0b2ad9:g:DrAAAOSwzaJYByBj
Hi I dosed Lernex for the first time after flukes diagnose and koi have started flashing vigorously, after 4 days from the dose still flashing is it normal?
@niccoc1603 hi, firstly, can I ask, did you use Lernex or Lernex Pro? Flashing after a treatment is a normal reaction and the parasites are getting attacked therefore moving and irritating the fish even more. Did the fish have Gill flukes or skin flukes? You definitely have used the correct dosage for your pond?
Hi thank you, I used Lernex , diagnose was for gill flukes, dosage as recommended (320g for 8000l). I am just surprised they are so actively flashing four days into the treatment, definitely more than before the treatment.
@niccoc1603 Gill flukes are the worst of the two flukes as they lay eggs. So you will need two doses. First one to 'eradicate' the adults, second one to kill the newly hatched flukes. It's difficult to know exactly what is going on in your pond. And I am not familiar with the use of Lernex. But after 4 days, it should be calming down. So unsure what to say on that one..
Yes the UK has been horrendous this year. The temperatures fluctuate too much, sometimes difference of 12-15 degrés Celsius from one day to another. My pond went from 26 to 18 degree Celsius in June, and I am sure that the water treament are different at the moment... I feel that with the lockdown, the wildlife population has increased too, so this could play it's part too.
Can I give you my personal opinion? You are too nervous and you are tinkering with the KOI too much like a laboratory animal. If you don't improve your sense of the KOI's natural healing ability, i.e. your feeding and observation skills, you will be doing this next year and the year after that!
