    I see a number of comments concerned about the pool collapsing. I am an excavation and concrete guy. Wait till its dry out to replace liner. (aka... Summer). The wall will hold If its replaced when the soil is dry (not rainy spring for example), Wait till its dry out to replace liner. (aka... Summer). The wall will hold. Espcially with a heavy clay soil if its replaced when the soil is dry (not rainy spring for example). Compacted dry clay is very similar to cement and hard to cut/move even with my 8,000 lb skid steer. Wet or saturated soils will deform and move, straight sand will also. Clay mix will be solid. You will be fine. Compacted dry clay is very similar to cement and hard to cut/move even with my 8,000 lb skid steer. Wet or saturated soils will deform and move, straight sand will also. I’ve got a question for you. I’ve considered putting gravel around the pool, like a retaining wall. Would that make it more likely to collapse when drained?

    I have watched this video so many times. Very informative. Thank you for taking the time to make it. I am in the process of doing the exact same thing. I actually think I even have the same pool as you from the pool factory. My question is about the “rock dust” or crushed stone. Where were you able to find it? I am in Texas and have spoken with a couple landscape suppliers about obtaining some and they look at me like they have no idea what I am talking about. Closest thing they have is decomposed granite. I picked up some bags of fine mortar mix at lowes that I feel may work but it is essentially powder.

    • @agliem1
      @agliem1  4 года назад

      Construction sand will work too. I used the fine stone to bring things level. Being level is the most important. I used a rotary laser level during the build.

    I also agree the "voice" volume is poor quality, maybe if the oddly strange and sad background music would be removed?! Literally sounds like music that would be played for the "saddest event ever"!!

    Love the video just bought this pool just curious about your backfilling in having to bury one side of mine 30” down and other side will be fully above ground with the short sides tapering up to 30 and down to nothing did u do a slurry mix or not and how is yours holding up with whatever backfill u chose thanks!

      I back filled with dirt. My soil has a lot of clay. So that has helped. Pool is doing good and still has the original liner. Will be opening up for the season in a few weeks.

    Can some one explain what I see at 7:27? the third ground strap up from the bottom. This strap you can see part of it is not touching the ground. Meaning that this strap is not tight but very loose. Now when the water goes in, the waters outward pressure will slide one of the uprights connected to this strap apart, causing it to be out of line with the rest. Was this done because the strap was to long? If so why did they not drill out the strap to bolt it tighter?

    • @agliem1
      @agliem1  6 лет назад

      Dave Van Meter I see what your talking about. Not sure why it appears loose. But they were covered over with sand and a bottom mat. No issues with it.

    Hello thank you for this video!
    What was that wire for that went around the pool?
    Where did the pump and filter go if pool is underground?

    • @agliem1
      @agliem1  2 года назад

      Wire around the pool is to ground all the metal surfaces. It attaches to a grounding rod. The pump and filter and behind the pool out of view.

    Nice job. My family and I are doing this now - pool is also from pool factory (Saltwater 8000 15'x30'x54"). Hope it comes out as nice as yours. Question - did you put a piece of foam in between the over channel and the under channel? the piece I have seems too big. Thanks for sharing the video!

    • @agliem1
      @agliem1  4 года назад +1

      Hello Rich, not sure what you’re asking. There is a think piece of foam between the pool liner and the steel sides of the pool. Hope this answers your questions.

      Hi Rich, We are putting in the same pool currently and yes we added in the foam piece but had to practically smash it in. It was not the correct size, too big.

    I am curious how your pump has held up. The voltage drop over that distance will strain the pump over time.

      No issues with the pump. If I remember I’ll check the voltage this spring and give an update.

      You are making a number of assumptions. How do you know what the circuit length is? At no point did he ever provide that info so you are just guessing. How do you know what gauge conductors he's using? At no point did he ever provide that info so you are just guessing. How do you know he either didn't do a voltage drop calculation or have someone else do it for him? Again, you are simply assuming and we all know what that makes you😆...

      Hello BORA, great video! My wife and I just bought this exact pool sitting in our driveway still in boxes. We’ve spoken to several installers and they all are worried about the pool caving in once it’s time to replace the liner. I’m I missing something? I’m confuse as to how can they sell a pool (semi-Inground) not strong enough to withstand the soil from caving the pool. How did the exterior wall feel to you, do you think this pool is strong enough or am I getting mis information? Thank you in advance for your response.

      @@AlexRodriguez-tg2gv I am wondering the same thing. We finished our pool ( from pool factory) in the spring of 2017 and I’ve already had to repair two leaks in the pool liner. I was hoping it would last more than 4 years. I know I am going to eventually replace the liner sooner than I had hoped. I too am concerned the walls will cave in when I do this. When you take off the top rails the pool walls are very flimsy Has anyone replaced theirs and if so, how did it go. Any advice is appreciated.
