    Nice! So this is your first 400A? I remember my first 400A was at Denver Union Station, it's also probably one of the last ever installed (March 2014 I think).
    And I understand why your video started out being shaky, it's seems ALL of my videos have an element of shakiness. I can't seem to fix that issue and I think it's just because I am bad at filming. I have been pondering the thought of trying RUclips's stabilization system soon.

      Elevating Denver Yes, this is indeed my first 400A system (even if I did cheat a little to my claim of fame)! I really liked these elevators; they were fast, smooth, and had a nice view. Not to mention, I believe these were also climate controlled; they felt air-conditioned! Truly a sense of luxury for any customer in the mall.
      And we seem to have something in common in terms of shakiness in the video, not that either of us are bad at filming. For me, it was probably a surge of excitement from being in a cool elevator system like this for the first time. In editing, I try to stabilize it a little in iMovie, while trying to not destroy too much of the video itself. Works a little better than the in-RUclips stabilization system.

      ***** I found my first 400A's almost completely by accident! I thought that the Union Station would have Otis', so I went to check it out and it turns out they have 400A. I almost think some of them at Union Station are air conditioned too, because some open directly outside and they blow cold air out of the shaft when the doors are open.
      And for my shakiness, currently I have done absolutely nothing (in terms of video effects) for it. I am not always shaky throughout entire videos, but whenever I hold the camera with one hand or I am nervous I get very shaky. I don't have the capability to use iMovie, so that's not a possibility for me. I am somewhat hesitant to use RUclips's stabilizer because I don't like that it sort of zooms in the video and makes it appear like I am extremely close to what I am filming. What I mostly don't like about that is it cuts out things in the video sometimes.

      Elevating Denver I suffer from the same shakiness issues. Most of my videos are alright since my camera has good optical image stabilization, but I just recorded a few with my phone and am not pleased with the uncontrollable shaking. You are not bad at filming, it is simply just a little bit of over excitement (at least in my case).
      Also, I would not recommend using RUclips's stabilization option. Although it does smooth the jitters a bit, it also creates rolling effects and sometimes black bars along the top and bottom in an effort to keep the frame from tilting.

      WestCoast Elevators Elevating Denver I will agree, the in-RUclips stabilization system may not be the best for stabilizing video, especially for those reasons mentioned. I applied a little stabilization during video editing using iMovie. It's enough to smooth out the video a bit, but not enough to completely destroy it.
      Usually I'm good with stabilizing the camera during video, whether it be a phone or still camera. It's usually that surge of excitement that does it in a little. :D

      WestCoast Elevators & ***** As much as I hate to say this, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has shakiness issues. The reason why I'm usually shaky isn't because of excitement, it's usually because I get nervous in higher security buildings.
      As for RUclips's stabilizer, I looked at and discovered that it's really quite crappy like you said. I have never used the iMovie stabilizer, but I think that'd be a good option for me if I had an Apple computer, but I don't.
      Anyways WestCoast Elevators, you mentioned how your camera has an stabilizer feature, well that got me thinking so I checked my camera's settings... Now I feel like an idiot, my camera has a stabilizer function too and I never bothered thinking about that.

    These actually go faster than the main ones I actually just rode these a week or so ago

    I believe these are actually 500A, as these seem to have a heavier build, & I think these have a machine room, despite the "400A chimes." Although please correct me if I'm wrong about these having a machine room.

      Interesting observation; I've actually been thinking about this since you posted this comment. Just took a look at the Google maps of this building, and appears there's a machine room on top.
      Here's the link to said Google Map coordinates:

      Not sure if this was an option to have the 400A chimes on a 500A back at the time when these were installed (2007), but these definitely seem custom enough (fixtures, etc) that I wouldn't be surprised, might have been a "pick your own tone" option for all I know.

      It is confirmed that 500A can have the "400A chimes." There's a set here where on the notable installs part of the Schindler Annual Report, it mentions "500A," but no 400A, & they have the "400A chimes." Although as you know since making this comment, Filechia has told us from taking to techs that they're a "custom" model, but I'm still wondering what's up with that.

    My local Courtyard by Marriott has Schindler HXpresses with EPCO WGH fixtures like these.

      That's pretty fascinating! These fixtures are pretty cool, glad to hear of another install with them. Thanks for your comment.

      It wasn’t a new install. They were originally Dover Impulses. Not the ones in this video, but the ones at my local Courtyard.

    Never heard of a 400A MRL.

      @NewEnglandElevators  6 лет назад

      Interesting you say that, you must be new to elevators (just from a quick glance). They were the Schindler MRL model when I first started learning about these things back in 2007 or so. Funny how these 400A's are being phased out for newer models such as the 3300 or the 5500.

      Relatively I am. I never knowingly rode a 400A.

      tkefan29 Well...welcome to the wonderful world of elevators. I'll be honest myself, these are the only true 400A's I've been on. I've been on a few other elevators within this mall that use the same sounds. However, those are TXPress. Feel free to check those videos out on my channel.

    Next time you come here, can you get close to the indicator or maybe the speaker?

    • @NewEnglandElevators
      @NewEnglandElevators  6 лет назад

      Speaker is unfortunately already pretty soft. Also, does it really matter where I am in the cab? You can see the indicator just fine from most of the cab. Zoom in if you need to.

    What are those fixtures? I think they are made by EPCO.

    • @NewEnglandElevators
      @NewEnglandElevators  6 лет назад

      I think they're EPCO as well, part of the WGH series (at least according to some others who have filmed here before). Closest I can find is WGH-9S. This link should help, you can see the fixtures here are close to what you see here:

    Looks like these have some controller glitches. Stil nice elevators though, especially for Schindler.

      WestCoast Elevators The first elevator I was on was definitely acting a little strange when I was riding it, with the random transport up to the 8th floor to the elevator not accepting my request to go down to *S. Something similar happened in one of the main elevators, oddly enough. As I was riding down, it somehow stopped at the 4th floor, almost like what happened here. I'm not sure what caused it to perform this way, but sure reminded me of the ride here.
      Despite all that, these were VERY nice elevators. Fast, smooth, and even has a nice view! I believe these may even have some sort of climate control in them. I remember walking into the elevator, and it felt cool; very nice walking in from a somewhat hot parking garage. Although other customers of the mall may not notice as much about elevators like we do, it still seems like an additional detail added to stand out to customers of the mall.

      *****
      Although the standard cutomer probably wouldn't think sbout there bing climate control in the elevators, they definitely would think about it not being there. It is obvious and obnoxious to get into an elevator that is either hot or cold.

    TRUE OR FALSE: The floor passing chime should be changed so I can hear it.
