I absolutely love the way you talk about these games. I had sim city on my commodore amiga and dread to think how many hours sailed away......

Got to like the base for Sim City 2000. I never really played much of the original Sim City but I certainly enjoyed Sim City 2000, and many of the other Sim's Maxis made.

Back in the day, I was messing around with pre-made cities. To my surprise, my city randomly got attacked by Godzilla. Exited, I talked about it at school with other Simcity players. But they refused to believe that monster attacks are in the game. They thought I was just making stuff up. T_T
Ah, the terrible old days before everyone was connected on the interent.

SimCIty is one of those very few PC games that I thought a game console version was superior to. The Super Nintendo version is really good (mostly due to it's presentation). It just feels like the superior version (although it also was probably one of the last versions made of the original SImCity as well). Either way, it is a fun game.

+anthonyspecf I would actually agree with you. The SNES version has lots of extra bits to it which make it more fun without having to cheese it out by letting it run for hours on end racking up money. It also introduced the concept of multiple zones connecting together to form really big buildings! Only catch is that you can only have one game saved and it takes freaking forever to save it, though emulation save states and fast forwarding can help with all of that. ;)

1:20 placing residental zones so close to industrial ones isn't a very good idea :
