Is that true? Can you eat a rooster? Or not?
The confusion about chicken meat origin is because female chickens are much more straightforward and less troublesome to rear in large numbers.
Female chickens are also much more desirable for the commercial egg industries. The same may be true for small homesteaders - such as yourself!

It's not so much the eating of meat that creates the suffering of animals. But the sheer greed for profit... Modern society seems civil on the surface. But if you look deeper. You will find your very own personal nightmare. :)
Greed for profit would still be here even if humans all became vegans
