And yes by 2012, they were tired after relentlessly touring to the point of exhaustion, yet they were barely making enough for it to be worth it and were actually funding themselves just to tour. On their last tour before the hiatus, aka The Fuck It Tour, they had some shows that had a decent amount of people but also some where barely 75 people showed up. They played 47 shows in 47 days, and that can be disheartening. Over the last couple years there has been a resurgence of interest in nu metal music, and even though the only nu metal album they made was Spit, this included them. So happy that they have been getting the recognition they deserve and are playing festivals like Sick New World and others to tens of thousands and having the audience go crazy for them. They have more than earned it!

GREAT reaction and you're spot ON on a few things!!! You totally got the message of the song which singer Morgan Lander has talked about in an interview. Also, yes they ARE heavier lol. This is the 4th single off the NEW upcoming album FIIRE on Sumerian Records getting released on the 21st!!! The 1st single was the HEAVIEST so far "Eyes Wide Open" with ALL HARSH vocals and growls!!! They came out SWINGING!!!! The 2nd single is "We Are Shadows" and the 3rd single is "Vultures" both having that mixture of clean and harsh vocals, both still heavier than this one! Also, yes you're also right that they were on a 13 year hiatus. If you want to see their story there's a documentary explaining everything called "Kittie Evolutions and Origins" it's on RUclips to watch for free also on Tubi.

Would be cool if you reacted to Eyes Wide Open, We Are Shadows, and/or Vultures. All off their upcoming album Fire 🔥

I was a fan of Kittie in High School and I still love the song Brackish in their nu metal phase. Sadly like a lot of bands I lost track of them over the years. Early Internet days were especially bad for that since it wasn't a given that a band had some sort of social media presence.

The new album is absolute 🔥 Its heavy overall with their prior singles off the album being heavier than this track. This is the most commercial of them all.
Have loved them since their debut, so its so great to have them back making music and playing live shows again.
RIP Trish Doan 😢 A talented musician and photographer who left us far too soon. You are still missed and never forgotten 🕊️

Great review! Yes this features more cleans then their usual songs, but with Morgan’s growth as a vocalist, I am totally loving it! The first single they released off their upcoming album is all screams, including Mercedes’ death metal growls in the chorus. It’s a really good groovy/ melodic thrash metal song. It’s called “Eyes Wide Open” and here’s the link:
