    Love the laundry room. We all need a little more organization in our life. I love to do this. A tip for removing your extra shelf. Why not just store it in top of the other shelf? I do this. That way you don't misplace the shelf or damage it by storing it out of the cabinet. Just drop it down on top of your other shelf. Always there if you change your mind. If you're like me....you will change your mind. Love your channel and all of your organizing tips.

    Such a great laundry room and you did a spectacular job of organizing it. When I have heavy loads, sheets, towels, etc., I will run them through an extra spin cycle and it takes much less energy and time to dry them completely.

    SO much nicer to have the empty cupboards/spaces than overflowing to the extent of not knowing what is in them!!! Sophie you are a person can relate to in SO many aspects of your organizing efforts. I have never been able to do this to my satisfaction. For that drying time issue, I have two recommendations.
    1. Clean the vent and lint trap on the dryer.
    2. Clean or hire someone to clean the dryer vent from the machine to the outside.
    These steps can have a huge impact on drying time and safety.

    • @SophisticatedOrganization
      @SophisticatedOrganization  2 года назад +3

      Thank you! It may be something with the vent from the machine to the outside since our washers and dryers are brand new and we got new hosing with it etc.

    • @marigoldsky3799
      @marigoldsky3799 2 года назад +1

      I was thinking the same thing. Clean out that vent that runs outside. If it’s clogged, it can be a fire hazard too!!

      Also prevents fires in the laundry room exhaust! A friend who is a plumber said he frequently is called post fire in the laundry room Be careful!! exhaust that went up Caused it to catch fire when it should have the easiest configuration put of the house. My sister had him redo the exhaust. An ounce of prevention…

    Okay….you have my dream laundry room, for sure. It’s looking wonderful. So happy you are sharing your organizing process with your new home. As far as your laundry not getting dry in your dryer, you may want to have your husband check to make sure that your vent inside your wall is the appropriate size for your dryer. We had the same problem when we bought a brand new dryer and vented it into the wall. Clothes were not getting dry in a brand new dryer so we did some investigating and found out that our vent in the wall was way too small and not appropriate. Replacing it immediately fixed the problem.

    • @SophisticatedOrganization

      @@SophisticatedOrganization Yes, the hose INSIDE the wall is something most people think of last… sadly. Hope you can have yours looked at soon, because you are going to have double the laundry once little one arrives! 😍

    The way i deal with wanting to remove a shelf in a cupboard is to drop it down to sit in the bottom of the cupboard box as the lowest shelf and i keep the pegs in the highest holes. It means i don't have to find a place for it in the house and if i do decide to reorganize and put that shelf back into play all i have to do is shift the pegs and lift the shelf.

    Loved your video, Sophie! Great job! I have a laundry room with extra cabinets, and I keep lots of my extra decor and all my candles in those cabinets. I keep batteries in one drawer, and in the other drawers I keep extra command hooks, different types of fasteners, adhesives, etc. I also keep “my” little pink tool box in a cabinet in the laundry room, so I have those things handy for hanging pictures, etc. That way I don’t have to go out to my husbands shop to find a hammer or pliers. The ones for glass I use again prior to washing so dont wash them right away. I hate leaving them around on counters to dry, want a place to hide them until i use them again. Any ideas on where to store them between uses?

      I think she said toward the end of the video that she keeps a container or bucket or something under the sink to put her dirty rags in. As far as your glass cleaner cloth, you could hang a clothespin type clip on the inside of a cabinet door where you keep your glass cleaner and hang it there. I’ve been looking for something like that…. Why doesn’t Command make those?! If they do, I’ve never seen one! But even a regular command hook could work to hang that rag on, or there are clear acrylic box type shelves that can be attached to the inside of a cabinet and you could just keep your used rag in one of those. Best of luck to you

      I do put all of my dirty ones in a little bin (I have one on each floor) until I have enough to wash. I do have a little bar on the inside of my kitchen under sink cabinet for the cloth that is currently in use since like you I will use it a couple of times before declaring it dirty!

I also just read that you’re supposed to wash the balls every 20 loads? So if anyone has experience with all of that, maybe please leave your input? Not sure what to do. Hey Sophie! Beautiful video! Any idea where you got that stepstool/ladder from that you are using in your laundry room. It looks like it’s very easy to pop open and closed just what I’m looking for! Hopefully you can link me! Thank you

    I have the yellow (and orange) from Costco too! Wait how do the tags not make you crazy. Also- do you take any special care in laundering microfiber? I have some that just aren't the same ss new and am not sure if they can be rescued or if I could have better cared for them.

      Oh they do haha they are a new pack from my dad! I mainly make sure I don't use any fabric softener or dryer sheets with them.

    Hey Sophie, I see so many people use essential oils on their dryer balls but I've been hesitant because of getting oil spots on my clothes, is this a valid concern?

      I would keep the amount of oil to a minimum and let it absorb into the dryer ball, you can always test with a load of rags or something first!

    How do you decide what sprays to decant?

    • @SophisticatedOrganization
      @SophisticatedOrganization  2 года назад

      I usually decant the products that I am able to buy in bulk or honestly want to look nice in a certain area haha! So something like goo gone I just buy one small bottle at a time, don't use it often, don't display it, so I don't feel like I need to decant.

    My son and twin boys are all born 12/12. What were the chances of that. Well, as n my side of the family, zero. One the mother's there are at least two sets. She has an aunt and uncle. They're not identical, but my grandsons are.

    why leave the lazy susan and remove the shelf? the lower shelf in the middle would be perfect for organizing all the smaller things you put into the right box, which is not going to be very practical

    You've probably never had a pillowcase stained from years of use, but if you have, how would you clean it? lemme guess softscrub (that is a joke) I was googling before but failed to come up with anything. I think I have executive dysfunction. Anyway, I was reading about stripping, then I saw other articles saying stripping doesn't really do anything, so I kind of quit looking. Maybe I tried an optical brightener on one, I don't
    remember.

      I am actually a fan of oxiclean for laundry stains and sheets, sometimes giving it a good soak really helps. My mom swears by the stain remover "soil love". I switched to white sheets for this reason - so I can use bleach if needed. I tend to leave mascara stains behind every now and then!!
