  • I thought I would show you all how I do my saline infusions for my POTS. I do my own saline infusions at home 3 times a week to manage my POTS symptoms. I use my PICC line to do it!

    I thank you for sharing such an intimate moment with us. I wish you a long happy and healthy life. With a little help from medicine of course. You are such a beautiful and thoughtful person. Thanks for making me smile again

    I’m a senior. I got my picc line this morning. My infusions start tomorrow. Your video has help take the fear out of what I’m going to have to do. Really easy to understand, and informal and professional at the same time. Thank you. 👍🤗

    For the heparin and saline flushes you can halfway twist the cap off and still push to get the air pocket out. This will eliminate the step to put the cap back on and also reduce risk bc you won’t be potentially exposing the cap to germs by placing it down then picking it back up to put back on. Thank you for the videos! I’m still learning with my picc as well, you’re doing great!!!!

      I do this now too! I prime the flushes before even taking them out of the bag!

    I got my PICC yesterday! I have my home nurse coming tomorrow morning and I'm very anxious. Not sure if I'll have a pump or not. But I'm pregnant and this is needed for hyperemesis gravidarum. I ordered the Mighty Well cover and shower sleeve too! Thanks for your content.

    so im gonna start home infusions and don't know if ill get a pump or a gravity drip...if I were to get a gravity drip, are you able to go out with it? because with a pump you can put it in a bag and go off somewhere but can you do that with a gravity drip as well? im just curious because my infusions might last longer than 2 hours and if I suddenly need to go somewhere I don't know if you can with a drip like u can with a portable pump.

    Hi Haley! I was wondering if you had tried hanna somatics for dealing with chronic muscular issues? They are highly effective.

    Not sure if you mentioned this before but where did you get your PICC line sleeve? My supply shipments gave me white mesh ones but they get cought on everything and look very medical if that makes sense

    Does testing your blood return hurt at all? I may be getting a PICC like for my infusions and I'm a little scared about the whole process...

    • @HaleysLifeThroughALens
      @HaleysLifeThroughALens  4 года назад +1

      Night Wolf Nope! You can’t feel it at all! You can taste/smell the saline flushes and heparin though when you flush your line but it doesn’t hurt! The only pain is the procedure itself. If your nervous, please ask your doctor ahead of time for a sedative or anti anxiety pill like vallum for the procedure. That’s something I regret not doing.

      @@HaleysLifeThroughALens thank you SO much for your response!! I officially start my infusions tommorow and my PICC placement will probably be scheduled in the coming weeks. I will definitely ask my doctor to see if I can get the anxiety meds! I'm terrified, but part of me is also happy beacuse I've heard so many success stories of feeling better. I'm currently 18, diagnosed at 17 and I've been having symptoms since I was 9. Excited to FINALLY have somewhat of a solution!!
