After years of experimenting with steak I discovered what a lot of food experts consider the best steaks in the world - Vaca Vieja Chuletón (Old Cow Steak) from the Basque region of Northern Spain. There they cook it on charcoal with just salt for seasoning. If you buy a good piece of meat (grass-fed and dry aged, thick cut) you won't need anything else.

Man you all are so judgmental. Why not give constructive criticism rather than talking shit.
Doing great man, my only complaint is my biased opinion on charcoal briquettes. I don’t like them mainly due to too much ash.

why would i buy a big green egg when I can just buy the kettle grill for far cheaper? whats the advantage?

Great questions, this is more so that folks who already own a BGE don't have to buy a kettle to get a true two zone cooking system.

If you just want to grill, then that's great. A BGE does a lot more than just grill steaks. I smoke with it, bake, crank it up and make pizza, you name it, you can do it on the egg.

At the very least you should salt and pepper your steak

These were dry brined overnight with 1/2 tsp kosher salt per lb of meat.

Dry ashy taste around edge and raw in the middle…completely defeats the purpose of the BGE
