I dont know why this came up as a suggestion, right under pop hits with 4 zillion views, but I am really glad it did, this is really really nice in every way
this is a bob dylan adaptation of an auld scots sang ....the bonnie lass o fyvie'o.....he also adapted the the scots sang ....farewell to tarwathie to farewell angelina...he also adapted the scots sang ...the road and the miles to dundee to the walls of red wing...also other scots sangs.
Wow man... That was amazing! I love this song, and your cover is one of the very best versions of the song. I hope you never take it down because I want to listen to it often. So good. Great job man! Hope your doing well! God bless!
Thanks man ;) This is when I first found this guitar (Alvarez Yairi dy98 modulus graphite neck) And I didn't have it setup just right yet so I think I strung it using elixir lights 80/20 at the time...Now that I have it setup almost perfect I usually string it with d'addario phosphor bronze mediums ...somthing between med and light would be perfect I think. I always string my guitars with coated strings cause even though there more expensive I just cant afford to change the strings very much
Well done, I love this tune and you really did it justice. Hell of a voice too! Solid playing. again...well done. I play this on piano w/ a harp rack. Bout to sit down and learn that sexy chord u threw in there :) Keep it up
HOT DAMN, BILLY! This is fucking great! I could sit & listen to you pick & sing all day! Very good vocals, & I DO love slow the acoustic!! Man, why didn't you do this for the DCP?! SERIOUSLY!! Next year, Billy! Do PEGGY--O!!! That was a treat!! I liked your cover this year, too!, but I didn't see it unti
Man I love the stuff you play! It's got a very authentic sound, your vocals are right on point, along with filmography of it all. Puts a smile on my face man. My buddy and I are inspired by your stuff and playing more dead acoustic covers now instead of our traditional bluegrass standards. Good job Billy, from a fellow head (~):}
Thanks Sean I appreciate it man! Thats that graphite neck guitar Jerry played. Lot of folks ask me about gear and stuff, so I figured I could make about half a shilling with what Ive learned through the years on whats the best gear for as little scratch as possible. So in the description I have everything listed with amazon links. If ya wanna help a feller dude out click one then order anything on amazon and I'll get half a shilling er so ;)Id appreciate it BB
Wow. I have listened to this numerous times now and just would to tell you that your version is fucking dope. I have listened to so many cool takes from folks. My 1st born son is named William O. My daughter is named Paloma, dove in Spanish. Have you ever listened to "the Bonnie Lass of Fyvie O"? The root of Peggy O. One more time... This version of yours is like delicate, fragile and velvetly smooth.
Thanks William! My names William too, and my sons name is Liam. I appreciate the kind words I’ve hear a lot of versions but not that one I’ll have to check it out
nice bro !!! i remember also putting my cigarette on the headstock when i was still a smoking bandit (lol) .. b.t.w. what guitar do you have there? maybe a martin?
Yairi is the most underrated guitar on planet earth....but that's okay, that's why I can afford one. You play it nicely by the way.....You play that Jerry Garcia model yet?
Dude your music is great but please lose the cigarettes. The only thing that keeps me from subscribing, not being judgmental but have lost loved ones to that nasty habit and it doesn't set a good example for the youngsters.
Our Scottish forefathers would be proud. This song never gets old.
Jerry is smiling while looking down and listening to your renditions.

Awesome job! What is that chord you are grabbing right after the G and before the Em right on "lady" like a dove?
Good song and tune. Alexandr. Russia. Moscow.
Awesome job! What's the picking pattern for the chords?
Love the way you play the guitar.
Which strings do you use? Brand / model / gauge?
Gorgeous cover. What's the picking pattern? I managed to work out the chords, but I'm stuck on the picking.
