Sadly I will not be able to attend. We have a family trip planned( my wife scheduled long before FSE 2024 was announced) to celebrate out 50th anniversary. Couldn’t talk them into Vegas😊
It has its pros and cons. The Puma had to be set up and taken down depending on if I am flying planes or helos. At least in my rig. The Winwing gear stays setup all the time. The Puma was far more expensive. I ended up selling it. The Puma would be awesome for a dedicated helo rig. Having the cyclic in the center between your legs felt more accurate.
How does the tobi work mounted on top of screen? I read it’s only supposed to be on the bottom and doesn’t work well anywhere else. curious what you think
Hi Ivan. Could you please test the various auto-pilot modes on the DCS F-14 please? It's surprisingly important for a FFB stick, because it has to simulate breaking out of autopilot (the amber 'A/P Ref' light will illuminate on the F-14), once a certain amount of pressure is applied to the stick . My Microsoft Sidewinder FFB2 stick is a little vague around the centre point and spurious signals cause the A/P to break away without even touching the stick. It's great in every other way, but A/P is un-useable. I'm curious to see if the MOZA has rock-steady ALT HOLD in a 20 degree bank and with the wings swept back beyond 40 degrees, when at 30k+ feet. Thanks.
Cool as always, did you look at the RealSimGear G1000 Suite before buying? I would be interested to know the difference before I purchase. Im in Australia so its not as though I can have a look in person or return easily. Looking at getting to help with IFR proceedures practices. Cheers
I did look at them and to be honest I went with what I could afford. Having said that, to make the FlightSimBuilder stuff more affordable some corners were cut such as the cheap feeling knobs. They FSB stuff works great, but I think the RealSimGear stuff is probably higher quality.
Did you ever try track ir? I didn’t like it. Not sure if the Tobi is better. I’d like to be able to know my eyes down to the instruments w/o moving my head and move my head out the windows. Not sure the tobi will do this. Track ir won’t.
Never tried Track IR. With the Tobii, you can use your eyes to initiate screen movement, but I found this to be too much. I can keep my head still, but moving my eyes around is almost involuntary to a point. You can, however, dial in a nice mix of the two. It seems many people are using a blend that heavily favors head movement but still has some subtle eye movement for screen/view control. I do think this is the best iteration of a device like this, but I have only used the Tobii and an iPhone app.
@@IvanSkyFlight thanks. Been watching your videos and all your builds. Trying to buy gear once but I now know that is pretty much impossible. Probably going to return the track IR. I can see its value when I have an air manager panel and it’s only used for looking out the window but drives me crazy when I need to stare at the gauges and keep them still etc.
@@pgreenx I would think track IR has this function, but I am not sure (Tobii does): The ability to turn off the track/ir/tobii with a key press. I have mine keyed to a yoke/joystick button. With Tobii you can recenter or just turn off the tracker altogether. It's great for doing pattern work/looking hard left/right or for looking down with helicopters.

Great setup. Love your cable management ;)
It's a nightmare! One of these days! Any ideas welcome!
I think i might mount my Tobii Eyetracker the same way you have it there. Very cool
It works perfectly. No metal strip required.
sweet set up buddy
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing Ivan…. a home sim is never done😊. Nice.
Thanks Russ! Hope to see you at the next Flight Sim Expo.

Love the flight Velocity Yoke with all the switched and throttle built in
It’s a great device. Wish the bungee on the yoke was a bit stiffer.
much of a detent through the middle?
@@IvanSkyFlight
@@g-locmedia Not really. It uses a single bungee that cross the yoke shaft at a perpendicular angle. It provides both pitch and roll tension.
Looking good Ivan!
Thanks!
Do you like that helicopter set up compare to the puma

I think it would depend on how high your screen is. Mine is basically eye level and it works well.

Why the 4070 ti?? That’s a huge waste on the cpu, you should’ve scaled back to comething like a 13700k and maybe a 4080
Not sure I follow. The difference between each of those respective component types is marginal.
