Serious question, I have been questioning my Christian faith and don't necessarily believe there is just heaven and hell for eternity. I believe in reincarnation. I have seen some stories about NDE, and they talk about being in hell, and the people in the interview sound reliable and that they really went through it. So I'm just confused and don't know where I stand when it comes to religion anymore. Does anyone have some good insight ?

I thought this was going to be a lot more interesting and relatable based on what I heard about the Tibetan Book of the dead. It seems unintelligible with all of its references and religious terminology. It’s probably for Tibetans.
Open your heart & understand that we are spirit manifested within the “meat vehicles” we walk around in. The allegory & metaphorical nature of this is absolutely intelligible when you understand the deeper meaning of the words I’m not an expert, but I’ve had experiences (no psychedelics) that have “accelerated” my spiritual awakening I’ve been going through for the past 15/20yrs. Mind blowing experiences. Life altering experiences. We have nothing to fear, death isn’t the end it’s simply the ending of one cycle & the beginning of another. I wish you good fortune in your journey of personal growth & spiritual development; do not get discouraged. A little advice, go into a new “thing” like this with no expectations or in a “neutral” mindset. You’ll get much more out of things when u do that
It’s for everyone but you need to learn about it all before you will get anything from it . It’s very practical when you have the background teaching. Mirror of mindfulness is a good book as is chos Kyi nyi ma Rinpoches commentary on that book. Good luck!
“Bardo” refers to the Buddhist concept of in-between, an intermediate, transitional, or liminal state between death and rebirth. The period between death & rebirth lasts 49 days & involves 3 bardos. 1st is the moment of death itself. 2nd encounters frightening apparitions. The 3rd transitions into a new body.
Portions of the Brain are mentioned 24 times where a physical brain no longer exist when consciousness disappears when buried or burnt. So going towards bright red and dark green is the best path.
@@Suk-mi-cok I think a vortex in water is just as fun. The birds of the air can tire us and then we could always be in the water and play with the fish.
What a great question Lisette! May I tell you what I personally believe? Just a perspective is all... I believe we incarnate to learn lessons of all kinds. I think some teach us compassion, understanding, empathy. That’s how we grow mentally & spiritually. 🙏Are you referring to the act of death itself, questioning why we must face it? Most of us are taught to fear death, although we will never know until we ourselves face it, when it’s our time. Some ethnic groups celebrate death & mourn birth. You are set free at death. A birth is a soul with karma to work out, & suffering. The Buddha teaches us a way out.❤
@@christinahuston no no, I know all that... this bardo with all these twists, tests and turns and deceptions (red light grey light white lights to a-void), could the universe be so cruel... it is an illusion and I think possibly a delusion..
Sounds right. I didn’t get that far in the volume. What kind of person can understand all the terminology? Is it from the Buddhist religion? Hinduism? I believe some of the fallen angels landed on mount hermon and meddled in humans affairs and they taught their wives all this sinful stuff of the flesh like creating makeup, forging weapons, interpreting stars, divination, and a lot of other things. God only knows if they told the truth. Fallen angels are of intense interest to me. I wish the good angels and God Himself captivated me so much. But I cannot tell if God has really revealed Himself to me very much. I am still waiting and watching for anything I can discern as coming from God, any dispensation. It’s as if he is right here with me but also far away like the master in the parable of the talents. And unfortunately I either buried or lost mine.

Teaching on the Bardo by H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche PART ONE One can be liberated by looking, hearing, and reading without needing to practice meditation. According to the profound oral instructions, this is the teaching for liberating those who have committed non-virtue. These profound and vast oral instructions which guide one on the secret path are the supreme path that is useful in both this and future lives. Thus, the wise should train in the teachings of the bardo. They can be realized without difficulty for one with correct knowledge. Importantly, now while you have the ability to do so, you should strive to practice at all times for the sake of this life and the next. While making effort with belief in the practice, apply your body, speech, and mind to this teaching on the bardo. According to Jetsun Milarepa there are six bardos: (1) the bardo in between samṣāra and nirvāṇa, (2) the natural bardo of the path, (3) the bardo in between birth and death, (4) the bardo of dreaming and sleeping, (5) the bardo of existence, and (6) the bardo of the next life. Even though there are many subdivisions of the bardo, according to Milarepa, it is in the bardo in between samṣāra and nirvāṇa that the reality of mahāmudrā is pointed out and the perfect view is correctly determined. During the natural bardo of the path, it is important for those who have embarked on the path to meditate on the oral instructions of the whispered lineage in order to realize the face of innate wisdom. Within the appearances of the bardo in between birth and death you should strive at the two paths of the creation and completion stages in order to advance in your conduct and radiant capacity of awareness. While in the bardo of dreaming and sleeping, since sleep is mainly based on your habitual tendencies, train primarily in luminosity and the illusory body in order to make use of these habitual tendencies on the path. Finally, in the bardo of existence, you should take the three kāyas into the path and travel to the three pure lands. If you don’t realize them in this life, then with pure aspirations, make a connection in the bardo of the next life. According to The General Meaning of Mantra, all phenomena of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa are without nature, and yet they appear otherwise. That is the coarse nature of illusion. This is the general meaning of the illusory body. The illusory body is exemplified by a dream, an echo, and a rainbow. According to many gurus, the actual illusory body is when, due to the extraordinary practice of the winds dissolving into the heart, the wind and mind arise from emptiness in the pure form of the deity; the approximate illusory body is when, due to just the ordinary practice of the channels and winds, the winds dissolve into the heart and the wind and mind arise from emptiness in the pure form of the deity. The luminosity of the fourth emptiness due to the winds dissolving into the central channel, or the recognition on the basis of the experience of the fourth co-emergent joy, is the hidden luminosity. More over, example luminosity is the co-emergent joy or fourth emptiness together with the dualistic appearance of subject and object. The actual luminosity is the co-emergent joy or emptiness without subject-object dualism. The luminosity of the result is explained as the luminosity of the union of no more learning.
Teaching on the Bardo by : H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche PART TWO Pointing out that all dream-like, illusion-like phenomena are appearances is the dharma which overturns grasping at the true existence. Similarly, for the purpose of pointing out all appearances as the appearances of the bardo, the previous gurus explained the three bardo of birth and death, the bardo of dreams, and the bardo of existence. According to the Compendium of Abhidharma, the moment of death is the very same moment that the bardo of existence begins. The period from death until rebirth is called the "bardo of existence." According to the system of highest yoga tantra, our physical body is always produced together with our subtle body of wind and mind. Thus, it is appropriate to accept that in the bardo of existence, there is a very subtle body. What kind of physical body does one have in the bardo of existence? According to the Treasury of Abhidharma, beings in the bardo have a body like that of their previous existence. At that time, it is previous with reference to the next existence. It is not previous with reference to the bardo. Thus, wherever you will be born next, you become connected with that kind of body. According to the higher tradition of Abhidharma as well, Wherever you will be born next, you take the form of that kind of body. Generally, based on the next life, in the bardo prior to that, one will take the form of that kind of body. According to Jetsün Marpa's Scroll on the Bardo, for three and a half days, one will take the form of the previous life, and for three and a half days, one will take the form of the next life. How is it that these two systems are not contradictory? According to Pertinent Quotations on the Six Dharmas by the all-seeing, Shamarpa, the actual body of a being in the bardo of existence will be like the body that they will have in their next rebirth. Nevertheless, since what appears to the mind of bardo beings is like a dream, due to strong habitual tendencies connected with the previous life, they may see themselves in their previous form. Thus, these two systems are not contradictory. One with divine vision can see the bardo body as it actually is, while a siddha who has approximate divine vision sees the bardo body according to their karmic imprints. According to the Prophesy on Transmigration Sūtra, it is said that when a person is about to die, a spirit enters their mind. At the time of someone's death, the spirit, etc., who is born with them will take on their form and appear to their relatives and friends and give prophesies, causing confusion about karmic cause and effect. In general, some in the bardo of existence can see with the divine eye as a result of prior practice, which was not acquired due to birth. The knowledge of when one will die and where one will transmigrate is approximate to the power of the Buddha, and also occurs in śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and bodhisattvas. How subtle is the body of a being in the bardo of existence? A body in the form realm is very pure, and the body of a being in the bardo of existence from that realm is even subtler. By comparison, the gods in the desire realm are more gross, and the body of a being in the bardo of existence from that realm is even grosser. The inner meaning is that there is no material body, but only a mental body that is established. A bardo being is able to travel wherever they think, without being obstructed by earth, stones, etc. They have miraculous powers due to past karma.
As for what substances a bardo body consumes, it is generally said that they consume odors, but they may also consume flavors, etc. As was clearly stated by Yanggön Chenpo, first, riding on the wind, due to the dependent arising of the five poisons, the five colors appear. When wandering about in all directions, the five-colored light will appear as a path. Whichever light one follows determines one's rebirth. If you follow white light, you will be reborn as a god, red as a demigod, blue as human, yellow as a hungry ghost, green as an animal, and smoke-colored as a hell being. Wherever you go, the pure light will appear as a path. All appearances will become the color of that light. The mental body too takes on that color. According to what has been passed down in the lineage of oral instructions of earlier masters who have seen the true nature of the body and mind, and beheld the bardo of existence, in the bardo of existence, consciousness rides on the winds. The wind is inclusive of the five pure elements. Consciousness has pure and impure parts. The impure part includes the five poisons and the pure part includes the seeds of the five wisdoms, the five purities of the wind and the five stained wisdoms. There is self-radiance due to the interdependence of the clarity aspect and the mental appearances. The path of light appears as the five paths of pure light, and appearances arise from the radiant aspect. Thus, these are called the five purities or complete purities. At the beginning, the light dawns as the equality of all five. Then, that which arises from the manner of their mixing is, for example, pure white light if one will be reborn as a god. As that becomes more intense, that dawns as the white light of the path, and ultimately all bodies and appearances dawn as white light.
Skull full of blood, that sounds pleasant. Human skins and bones, ya theres no evil in that. But this is supposed to be a path of peace. It sounds like trying to trick your way out of hell. How many are actually successful in this journey?
This is read to the deceased and forms a part of the death rites in buddhist tradition. Buddhist specially in the Himalayan region are very familiar and aware of this practice.

Lots of rules. Do this, don't do that. Fear, love, don't look, look now, yada yadda. How about... Accept the path of unknowing or the infinite love potential. The rest is yet more dogmatic aspects found in every other supposed all knowing abstraction of the infinite. One man's Bible is another's tibetan book is another's prayer beads is another's crystals, another's mantras, headdress, salutations, lucky charms, alms, diets.. The list goes on and will go on. Concepts concepts concepts to journey through as long as the clinging to 'we' desires. Love is a truly unknown potential surely whilst dogma and the constant grasping for a definitive are our seeming attempts to grasp onto something Infinitely unfolding without beginning or end. How could it be any other way. To truly believe in some end or final attainment. When would attainment with such an ideolised state cease its own yet higher reaching attainment. Does God to call it that finally rest at a particular point, all of this that we experience just a momentary distraction from a fixed point of something. No set idea can ever answer the ever journeying potential of unknown questioning. To place this as purely mind as the limited to yet go beyond is delusional and just another concept mind to 'go beyond the mind'.. The mind is carrying that which is beyond and if the mind obviously cannot find an end no matter how hard it tries why would we believe the true state has an end or set path or destination in any fixed or required way. Constant, unfixed, absolute but ultimately, unknown. Finding peace and love and faith within that perhaps is the challenge too much for the many minds to bare.
Yeah agreed, because how did someone find all this stuff out and then come back to the land of the living and tell us what happened when he died. It's still interesting and there's definitely value in realizing what we really are what's real and what's not real
My question is what if your not from a noble family, does it not apply. Also if your dying are you supposed to remember all these instructions. What if you have dementia. If you fail or step off this path in any way you are devoured by jealous gods, or hungry ghosts? Sounds like a booby trapped maze. Full of scary creatures ready to eat me. Screw this im going with Jesus, where the he paid the price for us to come into relationship with him. And when we are absent from our body we are present with him. Its that simple.

Read the POwer of Now by Eckhart Tolle. He seems to explain it the best and with a lot of compassion.
It's possible that our belief in where we go is what dictates what we see.
@jamescommagere7906 I've thought about that too. But I have seen videos where self-proclaimed atheist had an epiphany about heaven and hell.
@@zuriaguirre1564 Interesting thing about atheists is that a lot of the time they subconsciously believe in the higher power, but have an identity they feel they have to maintain. Weird psychology

Most people's reaction when they first listen to Ra is like, "Who does this guy think he is?" but he did always stress it's not a "belief system," it's mechanics, don't just take him at his word, you have to prove it to yourself, &c., and in truth it's not for everybody..it'll either work for you or it won't.
I'm approaching my 3.5 year mark and I can say the "experiment" is at least worth a shot 🧩

The universe is love. To become one with the universe you must let go and become love. My best thoughts to you through this difficult transition.
Samsara is earth? But doesn't it say God is putting a kingdom of heaven on earth, wouldn't that make this place this samsara the ultimate destination

The allegory & metaphorical nature of this is absolutely intelligible when you understand the deeper meaning of the words
I’m not an expert, but I’ve had experiences (no psychedelics) that have “accelerated” my spiritual awakening I’ve been going through for the past 15/20yrs.
Good luck!
I agree with Mihai, it's not for everyone. You'll find what resonates with you ❤️
The Bonn culture is older then most other cultures and thus can be difficult to relate to.

What does bardo reading mean .?
“Bardo” refers to the Buddhist concept of in-between, an intermediate, transitional, or liminal state between death and rebirth. The period between death & rebirth lasts 49 days & involves 3 bardos. 1st is the moment of death itself. 2nd encounters frightening apparitions. The 3rd transitions into a new body.

Most of us are taught to fear death, although we will never know until we ourselves face it, when it’s our time.

You don’t know.

Teaching on the Bardo
by H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche
PART ONE
One can be liberated by looking, hearing, and reading without needing to practice meditation.
According to the profound oral instructions, this is the teaching for liberating those who have
committed non-virtue.
These profound and vast oral instructions which guide one on the secret path
are the supreme path that is useful in both this and future lives.
Thus, the wise should train in the teachings of the bardo.
They can be realized without difficulty for one with correct knowledge.
Importantly, now while you have the ability to do so,
you should strive to practice at all times for the sake of this life and the next.
While making effort with belief in the practice,
apply your body, speech, and mind to this teaching on the bardo.
According to Jetsun Milarepa there are six bardos:
(1) the bardo in between samṣāra and nirvāṇa,
(2) the natural bardo of the path,
(3) the bardo in between birth and death,
(4) the bardo of dreaming and sleeping,
(5) the bardo of existence, and
(6) the bardo of the next life.
Even though there are many subdivisions of the bardo,
according to Milarepa, it is in the bardo in between samṣāra and nirvāṇa
that the reality of mahāmudrā is pointed out
and the perfect view is correctly determined.
During the natural bardo of the path,
it is important for those who have embarked on the path to meditate
on the oral instructions of the whispered lineage in order to realize the face of innate wisdom.
Within the appearances of the bardo in between birth and death
you should strive at the two paths of the creation and completion stages
in order to advance in your conduct and radiant capacity of awareness.
While in the bardo of dreaming and sleeping,
since sleep is mainly based on your habitual tendencies,
train primarily in luminosity and the illusory body
in order to make use of these habitual tendencies on the path.
Finally, in the bardo of existence, you should take the three kāyas into the path
and travel to the three pure lands.
If you don’t realize them in this life,
then with pure aspirations,
make a connection in the bardo of the next life.
According to The General Meaning of Mantra,
all phenomena of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa are without nature, and yet they appear otherwise.
That is the coarse nature of illusion.
This is the general meaning of the illusory body.
The illusory body is exemplified by a dream, an echo, and a rainbow.
According to many gurus, the actual illusory body is when,
due to the extraordinary practice of the winds dissolving into the heart,
the wind and mind arise from emptiness in the pure form of the deity;
the approximate illusory body is when, due to just the ordinary practice of the channels and winds,
the winds dissolve into the heart and the wind and mind arise from emptiness in the pure form of the deity.
The luminosity of the fourth emptiness due to the winds dissolving into the central channel,
or the recognition on the basis of the experience of the fourth co-emergent joy,
is the hidden luminosity.
More over, example luminosity is the co-emergent joy or fourth emptiness together
with the dualistic appearance of subject and object.
The actual luminosity is the co-emergent joy or emptiness without subject-object dualism.
The luminosity of the result is explained as the luminosity of the union of no more learning.
Teaching on the Bardo
by : H.E. Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche
PART TWO
Pointing out that all dream-like, illusion-like phenomena are appearances
is the dharma which overturns grasping at the true existence.
Similarly, for the purpose of pointing out all appearances as the appearances of the bardo,
the previous gurus explained the three bardo of birth and death, the bardo of dreams, and the bardo of existence.
According to the Compendium of Abhidharma,
the moment of death is the very same moment
that the bardo of existence begins.
The period from death until rebirth is called the "bardo of existence."
According to the system of highest yoga tantra,
our physical body is always produced together with our subtle body of wind and mind.
Thus, it is appropriate to accept that in the bardo of existence,
there is a very subtle body.
What kind of physical body does one have in the bardo of existence?
According to the Treasury of Abhidharma,
beings in the bardo have a body like that of their previous existence.
At that time, it is previous with reference to the next existence.
It is not previous with reference to the bardo.
Thus, wherever you will be born next, you become connected with that kind of body.
According to the higher tradition of Abhidharma as well,
Wherever you will be born next, you take the form of that kind of body.
Generally, based on the next life, in the bardo prior to that,
one will take the form of that kind of body.
According to Jetsün Marpa's Scroll on the Bardo, for three and a half days,
one will take the form of the previous life, and for three and a half days,
one will take the form of the next life.
How is it that these two systems are not contradictory?
According to Pertinent Quotations on the Six Dharmas by the all-seeing, Shamarpa,
the actual body of a being in the bardo of existence will be like the body that they will have in their next rebirth.
Nevertheless, since what appears to the mind of bardo beings is like a dream,
due to strong habitual tendencies connected with the previous life,
they may see themselves in their previous form.
Thus, these two systems are not contradictory.
One with divine vision can see the bardo body as it actually is,
while a siddha who has approximate divine vision
sees the bardo body according to their karmic imprints.
According to the Prophesy on Transmigration Sūtra,
it is said that when a person is about to die, a spirit enters their mind.
At the time of someone's death,
the spirit, etc., who is born with them
will take on their form and appear to their relatives and friends
and give prophesies, causing confusion about karmic cause and effect.
In general, some in the bardo of existence can see
with the divine eye as a result of prior practice,
which was not acquired due to birth.
The knowledge of when one will die and where one will transmigrate
is approximate to the power of the Buddha,
and also occurs in śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and bodhisattvas.
How subtle is the body of a being in the bardo of existence?
A body in the form realm is very pure,
and the body of a being in the bardo of existence from that realm is even subtler.
By comparison, the gods in the desire realm are more gross,
and the body of a being in the bardo of existence from that realm is even grosser.
The inner meaning is that there is no material body,
but only a mental body that is established.
A bardo being is able to travel wherever they think, without being obstructed by earth, stones, etc.
They have miraculous powers due to past karma.
As for what substances a bardo body consumes,
it is generally said that they consume odors,
but they may also consume flavors, etc.
As was clearly stated by Yanggön Chenpo,
first, riding on the wind,
due to the dependent arising of the five poisons,
the five colors appear.
When wandering about in all directions,
the five-colored light will appear as a path.
Whichever light one follows determines one's rebirth.
If you follow white light, you will be reborn as a god, red as a demigod,
blue as human, yellow as a hungry ghost, green as an animal,
and smoke-colored as a hell being.
Wherever you go, the pure light will appear as a path.
All appearances will become the color of that light.
The mental body too takes on that color.
According to what has been passed down in the lineage of oral instructions
of earlier masters who have seen the true nature of the body and mind,
and beheld the bardo of existence,
in the bardo of existence, consciousness rides on the winds.
The wind is inclusive of the five pure elements.
Consciousness has pure and impure parts.
The impure part includes the five poisons and the pure part includes the seeds of the five wisdoms,
the five purities of the wind and the five stained wisdoms.
There is self-radiance due to the interdependence of the clarity aspect and the mental appearances.
The path of light appears as the five paths of pure light,
and appearances arise from the radiant aspect.
Thus, these are called the five purities or complete purities.
At the beginning, the light dawns as the equality of all five.
Then, that which arises from the manner of their mixing is,
for example, pure white light if one will be reborn as a god.
As that becomes more intense,
that dawns as the white light of the path,
and ultimately all bodies and appearances dawn as white light.

What makes you say that
Lots of rules.
You speak some truths. I'm having a hard time believing people are actually capable of love. It's all self interest.

There's no reason for you because you have not mentally leveled up enough to understand it. When you finally do, then you will see reason.
