2015 was the absolute testament to the fact that Sweden can send whatever watered down cookie cutter pop crap into Eurovision, and the juries will always reward them handsomely for that. Who even remembers their winning song from this year anymore?
If Barabara Pravi's "Voilá" is the frenchiest french song the french have ever franced, Il volo's "Grande Amore" is the italianest italian song the italians have ever Italied
They did not have to "persuade" anybody, nor the jury or the audience. Their level was too high. Not just the classicaly trained voices. But the song, the energy, the youthfulness, the charm, their presence on stage. The perfect combination of classic and contemporary, given with so much simplicity, and tenderness. They SHOULD have won.
Only weakness is the posh vibes, but they are of absolute highest quality like anything Italia sends. I liked more experimental songs that year: 4 Loïc and 6 Aminata.

I'm here after Loreen winning. The only thing that cheers me up is knowing that we will for sure remember Käärijä like we remember Il Volo or other amazing underrated artists that didn't win the contest but won people's hearts
They released new album and played lots of gigs. From February till April they did almost 40 concerts around US, so they're definitely very popular over there. After that they went to Central and South America to perform there and now they're back in Europe for another few gigs.
As much as i liked the winner that year, this should've won the competition. Amazing song, amazing performance! To this day, it still gives me goosebumps.

They won the public vote by a mile. However, Sweden and Russia got enough votes from the juries to beat them overall. God knows why. The juries are supposed to vote on vocal performance and neither Sweden nor Russia could compare to Italy for that. The only other country whose singer came close vocally was Australia.
Italy should have won this year, no question. BUT I did get tickets for the grand final in Stockholm the following year, which was the best ever final. Plus it gave me the chance to travel from London to Stockholm by train (3 days) which I had always wanted to do. So a silver lining…… looking forward to Rome? Next year COVID allowing.

No other Eurovision song ever hit me as hard as this one did. It's a masterpiece from start to finish and I will NEVER understand how it did not win back then.
Conspiracy theory I believe too because I live in Italy. The Italian RAI didn't want to win and made arrangements to get votes from the Juries as low as possible. Real reason, somehow related to the conspiracy above. There are actually 2 different concerts, one for the national jury and the second for the public, il Volo performed badly on the first go, had some technical malfunction.. But I believe they performed badly for the juries on purpose.
There was a huge discrepancy between jury votes (many voted for Sweden ofc) and public televoting (overwhelming majority voting for Italy). Because of this as of 2016 they changed the voting system to prevent situations like this. For comparison, Il Volo got 12 points from the public from 14 countries and (as a whole) more televoting point than MANESKIN...the system was flawed but it got somehow fixed, we could say

Because it factually is. Heroes, altough a cool message, is a basic sounding song. Despite being angry with this victory though, at least we were treated with Mans hosting ESU, which he happened to be the best host (with Petra) in ESU history imo.

Всё верно. Но победила Швеция. Это ещё раз доказывает, насколько Евровидение продажное. Пока не уберут схему 50/50 и жюри, чтобы голосовали только зрители, будет такая ерунда каждый год.
Считаю, что это одна из лучших песен, представленных на этом конкурсе. Ещё один бриллиант был в 2001 году, Antique - Die For You. И тоже только 3 место(

They won the public vote by a mile. However, Sweden and Russia got enough votes from the juries to beat them overall. God knows why. The juries are supposed to vote on vocal performance and neither Sweden nor Russia could compare to Italy for that. The only other country whose singer came close vocally was Australia.

Italy should have won this year, no question. BUT I did get tickets for the grand final in Stockholm the following year, which was the best ever final. Plus it gave me the chance to travel from London to Stockholm by train (3 days) which I had always wanted to do. So a silver lining…… looking forward to Rome? Next year COVID allowing.

No other Eurovision song ever hit me as hard as this one did. It's a masterpiece from start to finish and I will NEVER understand how it did not win back then.
Conspiracy theory I believe too because I live in Italy. The Italian RAI didn't want to win and made arrangements to get votes from the Juries as low as possible. Real reason, somehow related to the conspiracy above. There are actually 2 different concerts, one for the national jury and the second for the public, il Volo performed badly on the first go, had some technical malfunction.. But I believe they performed badly for the juries on purpose.
There was a huge discrepancy between jury votes (many voted for Sweden ofc) and public televoting (overwhelming majority voting for Italy). Because of this as of 2016 they changed the voting system to prevent situations like this. For comparison, Il Volo got 12 points from the public from 14 countries and (as a whole) more televoting point than MANESKIN...the system was flawed but it got somehow fixed, we could say
@@ElectroRome did it get fixed though? In 2023, the juries pushed someone to top spot again over a LANDSLIDE televote victory by another country. I bet that it is a 100% pure coincidence that the "someone" in question happened to be Sweden once again.

Il Volo not winning eurovision is a crime and is enough reason to kick out the """professional""" juries. 366 points from the televoting with only 40 countries participating is incredible.
