- How do I get water to 20 aquariums using only 2 pumps? This week we talk everything about RETURN LINES from my sump! After a few requests asking for a video on the topic, this week is the week!

Another great informative video, well explained, thought out and demonstrated, certainly more positives than negatives if your aquarium and maintenance routines are adhered to. 👍
Very nice and well thought out system Jason. It makes sense that such a massive water volume is much easier to maintain stable water conditions which I'm sure is a big contributor to your success in breeding Altolamps. Thanks for sharing with us.
Cheers mate, I am sure that has played a part into them doing so well for me too
Thank you!!
Deff need some check valves 😢 was wet
👍 thumb up Jason a work worthy of Leonardo da Vinci
Thanks Matteo glad you like it! Haha reckon da vinci would do a slightly better job at it than me!
1st🙂👍🏻And watching!
Haha glad you are mate
Wow
Cheers
well i think it's a great system wouldn't a pressure regulator ensure all the tanks are getting the same amount of water?
Thanks for that. I am not sure how that would work to ensure each of the 20 aquariums was getting the required water pressure or where in the plumbing you would place it? That said, not every tank needs the same amount of water pressure. The fry tanks for instance don't get as much flow as say my 4 foot tanks. Hence the ball valves give you flexibility as you need for each tank.
Hi Jason.
A great insight into your sump system. I shall be doing similar when I eventually set up my fish room. Totally agree with you about water stability on the larger volume.
One question is do your pumps add temperature to your water due to any heat they generate during their normal operation?
Thank you 🙂
Cheers Paul. I really recommend it for ease of maintenance. I don't notice any heat generated from the pumps, I actually wish they did! Would save costs on keeping the room warm! If they do then its negligible.
Jason, I have a similar set up I’m trying to accomplish but I’m having issues with the drain line. I’m only running 6 tanks at the moment but the water in the drain is bubbling and causing splashing in the sump and some tanks occasionally. Can you tell Me what I’m doing wrong
Hard to say, you could try reducing the flow rate from your return pump to reduce the bubbling sound. With the sump though, try to feed the water into the sump rather than letting it spill out of a pipe. Adding a filter sock to the end of the pipe will also help reduce the noise. Hope that helps.
What pumps are you using for this set up?
They are Jebao DCP-15000 pumps
