@@StarryLeblanc it’s like they took all of those songs about being stuck in a vicious cycle and wanting to get out, only to finally get out and write a song warning people not to do what they did. it’s like when an older sibling/role model gives you hard advice not because they think you’re stupid or too young, but because they’ve been through that hell before and wished someone would have told them when they were younger.
LOVE the red flag imagery and the storyline of staying in a toxic relationship when you know it's hurting you because you love them too much. Amazing work as always
I blindly stayed in a psychologically and physically abusive and toxic relationship with my ex up until July, when he set my mother on fire with petrol right next to me and our 1 month old daughter at the time. Thankfully she's healing well. I was so groomed by him that I'm still struggling to internalize how sick of a monster he is.
Through all of this shite I've been through, and after going to rehab recently, I've learnt the importance of healthy boundaries & self care/worth. Without it, I gave in to chaos and justified every single Red Flag, pretending I was living a daydream.

@@sabis6111 Childish lyrics, lame programmed drums, forced emo vocals. It sounds like Michael produced it in his house and inserted it in the album at the last minute.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guys and the band, but this one was a shot in the foot. After "Red Line" the quality of the album goes way down. But I still think that this album contains some of the best songs ever released by them.
Like Bad Omens which makes my top 3 along with Red Desert and No Shame.
I think they did a really good job explaining the song through the video, because everyone understood the red blankets are the "bad omens" (or red flags) the guy (probably both, at some point) noticed, but decided to ignore, because he [thought he] loved the girl and "that's what you do, when you love somebody", which lead them to inevitably crash and repeat everything again (someone said, they repeat the story, because the video starts right after the crash and at the end they crashed again, which I think could also apply for the "we go 'round again", even when that was shown with them kissing and getting undress in the backseat)

Ok so here’s my take on the mv: The 2 characters have just crashed the car, or driven it off a cliff or something, and whilst it’s still like that and the girl hasn’t woken up yet, the boy gets out and goes exploring, where he looks into the sky and sees all the ‘bad omens’. He reaches out to one, and it envelopes him, he acknowledges its existence. However, when the girl wakes up, she immediately starts the car, a symbol for their relationship, and drives straight into the bad omen, the one that the boy is in. The bad omen gets stuck on the car window, blocking the view, but as both of them are back in the car now, they both ignore it. They are now driving the car blindly, not knowing where they’re going due to the big red sheet but ignoring it, both not knowing where the relationship is going due to fights and things but ignore the bad due to their love for each other. In the car, they fight in the front seat, but then make up and make out in the back, because although they fight, they love each other and keep wanting to just make up, ignore it, and keep loving each other rather than try to fix the problem. Eventually, when this keeps happening, the car drives off of a cliff due to their blocked vision, the relationship dooms itself due to the couple ignoring the bad omens. It can be presumed that this is how the beginning of the video started, as they were stranded somewhere and injured, so this is not the first time that the car has crashed, and the relationship has gotten out of control. However, they are still stuck in the endless loop of crashing, getting back in the relationship, fighting, ignoring the problems, making it up, and continuing to crash and burn. So yeah that’s what I think! (though I could be completely wrong, never really done an analysis of these before) Love the music video, 5SOS always have such simple yet such complex videos idk how to describe it, and it’s amazing. I love you 5SOS! Thanks for making my life so much better

I love that shot near the end with both people gazing into each other's eyes, disregarding the impending doom and broken rear view mirror. It's crazy how distorted our perception or recollection of "what's behind" can become when we're caught up in the temporary invigoration or desperation of a toxic relationship. And if we aren't careful, that same feeling can blind us from the eventual loss of ourselves and everything that's important. For a while there, at the end, when the car drove off the cliff - it almost looked like the car was flying. "Love" - or the lack therof - is like that sometimes. And, unfortunately, it often ends in total destruction. This video portrays the song perfectly. 10/10

The fact that the video ends right before where it started(the car crashes in the end and the video starts with them waking up after the crash) is such a great concept. It's shows how it all repeats all over again(we goin' round again, that's what you do when you love somebody). This might be my favorite video by them, the symbolism🤌🏻

But when it's "ride or die," it shouldn't be yourselves killing each other. I know your heart wants what it wants, but so many times I honestly just don't get the people who have someone's heart. The man I love more than anything is with someone extremely toxic who has done so many horrible things to him, and even though he could easily get anyone he wants, including someone who would never hurt him (like me . . . ☹), he choses to stay with her. It's heartbreaking and soul crushing. Especially when I see so many people choose to be with someone awful overlooking someone good. It just isn't fair or right that horrid people have no issues getting someone while so many good people remain alone.
This song is amazing so I'm sure the music video will match that energy. Watching it be performed live is an experience I'll never forget!
Bad Omens are the Red Flags in a relationship. When we madly love someone, we ignore the bad and concentrate on the good because we know it'll hurt like hell to lose that person. All those lovely moments tend to hold us together to avoid the absence of love in our hearts. The pain we endure is immeasurable compared to the love we receive but, we seek love despite all those red flags. Is that love worth the pain? That's where the tug of war starts inside. This causes depression when you can't decide or even if you decide to let go. Matters of the heart are indeed delicate. We fight a war invisible to others...! I wish such good people at heart, experience more love and little pain😭

To me the video represents someone essentially ignoring every “bad omen” or “red flag” they see about the other person and how being around someone who isn’t good for you can lead to you being hurt in the end. When the guy in the video reaches for the red banner and it wraps around his hand, I’d interpret that as he’s trying to get away from the bad things in his life but he’s too caught up in it and he can’t seem to find an exit or escape and then the women drives the car to him and it seems like she’s saving him but in reality she’s essentially “trapping” him in the red banner and they “go round again” and then they’re seen fighting in the front seat of the car whilst in the back they’re in love and kissing which again relates back to the fact that he’s stuck with the bad omens in his life and he can’t seem to find a way out. At the end of the video it shows them going over a cliff with the red banner over the car still, which to me shows that if you don’t get away from the bad omens or red flags in your life or you “keep ignoring” them it’ll lead to your life being in danger as such.
