Glad you guys liked Fort DeSoto better than we did. We had the same weather (well, we were there at almost the same time) and we were in the no-pets section. Maybe better weather may have helped us enjoy our stay, but we don’t plan on returning. Oh, I think the shower houses are a little better in the other section. -Jim
The weather refused to cooperate while staying at Fort De Soto park, but we made the best of it. Have you ever been to Fort De Soto? If so, leave a comment and let us know what you think. Any day you can get away, is a great day!
We went there on Feb 2 and rode our bikes on the bike trails and then through the campground. Bike trails and beach were awesome, We had a sunny day!! The campround was tight with a huge canopy of trees. Thought it would be a good place to be in the warmer season because of the canopy of trees offering shade. Not so much for the cool and cloudy times of year, like this winter in Florida. Talona Ridge in Ellijay Georgia after Florida and then back to Md from there for us. Enjoy your travels.
I swear if I close my eyes I swear I’m listening to Vince Vaughn haha … especially when you were in the shower stall talking about how their aren’t any places to hang anything , there is a soap dish .. hahaha
We love Ft Desota!! We’re local and probably go at least 2-3 times a year!! Awesome place even in the summer!! Our lab never wants to leave the dog beach!! 😍
That was funny Katrina thinking it was moving on out from the Jeffersons. Funny! But ya I think that park looked nice. I have been in bath house like that one. My brother in law had an Rv with a wet bath. We never used the wet bath. We used the campgrounds. We ruffed it in a TT. And then in a pop up. A few years ago he wanted to get a class C. That is a shame about the weather not being good while you were there. That you could have enjoyed it better. How was the bike ride? That’s nice they had a dog park. I would stay there. Thank you for the video. Have a great day and week. See you soon! Stay safe!
As you get older everything starts sounding the same.🤪🤣 The bike trails around there are Amazing! If you like the beach you should love it there. Stay safe and enjoy your travels.😊
We like Fort Desoto, my only concern would be lots of what appeared to be low branches or narrow sites. That pull thru would have worked for us, im sure there are other sites there. We will be pulling with a 30 ft HDT...so we need a little space...not 40 achers. We stayed uo in Chrystal River , about 80 - 90 minutes north of there, beauti place and there were many Manatee tours & viewing stations. Thanks for sharing...we appreciate it..😊😊😊
The trick would be to book as early as possible to reserve a pull through site. Sounds like we need to stay at Chrystal River in the future. Thanks for sharing.😊
There’s another fort at the mouth of Tampa Bay on Egmont Key that is fun to explore. You either have to take your own boat or take the ferry to it. We’ve been going to Fort Desoto since the mid 70s. The Manatee visitor center is open from Thanksgiving weekend to Easter weekend. The Manatees disperse once the water warms up in the spring. I know of places in Tampa Bay that they go to during mating season that interesting to see!😅 Residents of Pinellas county get a months head start for reservations also. We usually get sites 140-150 so we can bring our boat also.
Didn't know about that fort. We'll have to check it out. Not sure we want to see mating season.😬 That would also be a reason it's so hard to get a reservation.
OK. That's sounds like an amazing trip. We can't wait until we can go full time. We are counting down the years, and then the days. We'll keep us in mind if yall want to. Safe travels and Happy Camping!!!
OMGOSH! you guys were a few minutes from our house! we live near the Manatee Viewing Center. My hubby and I would have loved to meet you guys. How long are you guys going to be in Fort De Soto? Sorry the weather has been crappy.😥We love Fort DeSoto. btw... we are not stalkers! lol we are realtors in the area. Hope to meet you both someday!!! you guys are awesome!!
Had a question about your starlink that I noticed you had on the picnic table in your video. So were you able to get a consistent connection with all the trees around?
Great video on the campground. I might have been freaked out a little if a guy with a camera and talking to himself walked in the bath house, LOL. We have spent January in state parks in Destin and Panama City and we too had cold and rainy weather, next year farther south!
Because people book multiple campgrounds for the same dates and don't cancel the ones they are not going to utilize per the park rangers at the state parks. We asked why so many were empty when the website reservation system shows that it was booked full. The park rangers dislike the system. At least the one we talked to wasn't happy with it. He wanted the abusers of the system fined.
Avoid Florida. Its cold and wet this winter. Why do you continue to go to that RV show? You must have an interest in it. Would bore the shit out of me. First of all, it's not south enough.
Guess it's the chance you take booking so far in advance. Last year at this time it was absolutely gorgeous. We have no interest in the show except to meet other like minded people and enjoy the atmosphere. Quite a few of our friends come down so it's also fun getting to hang out with them.
Sorry about the audio issues from 6:20 to 9:50. Thanks for letting us know.
Love watching Tucker! He has a great voice too! 😂😂😂😂
Tucker says "Thank you"! 😍

Sorry you guys had such a bad experience. Hopefully the next time we stay there the weather will be nice. I'm wasn't a big fan of the shower houses.

I love that I’m not the only hooman who helps his dog’s inner voice come out
Tucker is Chris's little buddy. ♥
Too bad the weather was crappy. Looks like a lot of fun to stay there
Maybe next time. Take care guys.
Super cool!
Thank you!

Love the Vince Vaughn reference!
Enjoyed your video. Love places that are free.
Thank you. Nice place to spend a few hours.
It’s Moving on up from the tv show The Jeffersons
Yes! 😃
Thanks again for another great video
You bet. Thanks for watching!
We love Ft Desota!! We’re local and probably go at least 2-3 times a year!! Awesome place even in the summer!! Our lab never wants to leave the dog beach!! 😍
The beach is absolutely beautiful!!
Which site would you recommend being close to water or beach front for tents
I love this campground, shower house looks great. We say at alot of state park and is a nice shower house.
We're looking forward to going back when the weather is nicer.

Have been to fort desoto in November. It’s always wet and windy. Enjoyed it but we had a group of friends.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your time there. We'll definitely go back.
Chris would be an awesome camp host!

We are in New Orleans in a down pour with flash flooding. I wouldn't mind cold wind. I guess it is a matter of perspective.
Good point.
We love Fort Desoto. It is very hard to get a reservation. Let us know when yall are going to try and go back. We will try and grab a site too.
It probably won't be until winter of 2026. Our plans should take us out west winter of 2025.
OK. That's sounds like an amazing trip. We can't wait until we can go full time. We are counting down the years, and then the days. We'll keep us in mind if yall want to. Safe travels and Happy Camping!!!

Wow, that's crazy! Sorry we weren't able to meet you guys. Our videos are a couple weeks out. We are currently at TTO in Orlando.
how long will you guys be at TTO? maybe we can meet before you guys leave Florida@@oureverydaygetaway
He Chris your sound is from one channel only from the left. Music is both channels. Just letting you know.
Thanks for letting us know. Your the first person to tell us this. We'll have to look into fixing it.
The bath house look like a flying saucer that landed. I am sure when its drier, the campground would be nicer.
We'd been better off just staying at TTO this year but who would have know the weather would stink.
Much better than dealing with, old bags yelling at u. Like the last place 😂😂😂
LOL!!
Had a question about your starlink that I noticed you had on the picnic table in your video. So were you able to get a consistent connection with all the trees around?
We had pretty good service even with the trees.
Great video on the campground. I might have been freaked out a little if a guy with a camera and talking to himself walked in the bath house, LOL. We have spent January in state parks in Destin and Panama City and we too had cold and rainy weather, next year farther south!
Are the lights inside your RV flashing?
Sorry about that. Sometimes when we don't have the setting on our camera correct it looks like the lights are flashing.
Bath in camper is different than house bath or shower house.
Totally agree.
There has been Canine Distemper confirmed in Fort De Soto Park. I hope your beautiful dog is okay.❤
We heard about it the day before we left. Thankfully he wasn't affected.
It’s Carlos from Tx How much were the site at De Soto
Depending on the site you choose they run from $35. - $48. per night.
Nice park have seen this park dirty laundry took thier son camping thier.
We didn't use the laundry. We prefer to use the washer and dryer in our rig.
That thier last name they took thier son camping thier

It seems to be a problem at a lot of Parks. People who abuse the system should be held accountable.
We saw quite a few people going to the office to cancel their reservations/leave early due to the approaching storm.
We totally agree.
Love yor Videos, sound no good. 🥺
Thank you. We're working on the sound.
What nick naks do you use in the shower? LOL.
I think we'll leave that one in the shower. 😂
