    And to think this was when I really started listening to the radio for myself. And they repeated the same 20 or so songs all day long until the Quiet Storm show came on at night. I miss those days, but goodbye as well. :) I'm so glad you enjoyed my whole series brotha!!!

    Kevin- Thanks for posting this ...it was about this time I stopped listening to the radio yet ....the music still came through as you said ....some good.. some so-so...Cd's hit and I stopped listening to the radio because everytime I tuned into a station it had changed format and became country- western , pop, top 40 or Hip Hop. I just gave up and asked my music lover friends what was hot ?....thanks so much for providing such depth to your 50th Motown series ...with much respect!!

    Thanks so much!!! I don't think there's really a need for me to do a behind the scenes vid for Motown, and I could NEVER compare labels with each other cuz they were all distinctive & added their own unique things to the music industry. And yes I did an 80's Motown vid, but remember, I ONLY spotlight the more rare & obscure songs & artists with a few lesser known songs by the popular ones on these & all of the music vids I do!!! I'll send the 80's vid.

    Oh yeah, Motown ended up being just another label like all the other ones, so much for musical evolution. Thanks so much!!!

    Now that's what's up, you didn't even have to hear a sample in a new song to find these songs, that's how it should done!!! Great job on those 2 & keep searching!!!

    Great job ! I truly enjoyed this video. I agree with you on the comment that Motown was not worth listening to after a certain time. Keep up the great work. I love you, man !

    That was a great soundtrack, but then again, EVERYTHING Stevie does is wonderful!!! Did you know that that Whitehead Brothers are the sons of John Whitehead of McFadden & Whitehead who made "Ain't No Stopping Us Now"?

    Love the vid, but you forgot about '90s GEMS! Shanice ("I Love Your Smile"), The Boys ("Crazy"), MC Trouble ("Make You Mine"), Queen Latifah ("UNITY"), Another Bad Creation ("Iesha"), Milira ("Go Outside In the Rain"), Erykah Badu, India Arie, MC Brains ("Oochie Coochie"), the Good Girls...I could go on and on. Motown was kicking it out in the '90s, under the radar!

    Hey bro! I forget about the Whitehead Bros. LOL Thanks for the memories! The Jungle Fever Soundtrack reminds me of the summer of 1991 when I saw the movie and spent the summer in Michigan and Canada with my aunt and uncle. Those were the days..... LOL They played that soundtrack in their car each time we got in it. LOL My fav song was 'Chemical Love.'

    @sickvokals Yeah, but in all the music vids that I do, I always show the rare & obscure artists & their songs cuz we can easily get our hands on the hits & the popular stuff. Glad you understood cuz some didn't at first like you did. My subscribers know how I get down, that's why I have to explain cuz vids like this get past them & out to the masses & they won't get me. Thanks man!!!

  • @thruthealcove

    Thanks Sean, I know what you mean. But at least the people who have it now are doing a decent job with the catalog so far. I just wish they would do better with re-releasing tose original albums so we could get those great album tracks.

    @sickvokals Thanks so much, but you missed the point of this video. What I was trying to do was showcase the more rare & obscure songs & artists that recorded for Motown during the later years, but I sprinkled some of the popular artists in just for a reminder that they were on the label too. I never forget the major artists, I just give all the underdogs their shine. I just like to focus on stuff you hardly ever hear about, the ones you mentioned are very easy to find.

    @VenessaVB I like her, but Motown, sadly, isn't even a label by itself anymore, it's now Universal/Motown, just making her an artist signed to the Universal Music Group (UMG).

    @thruthealcove
    Agreed! Stevie is a genius!
    And no...I didn't know the Whitehead Bros are sons of the guy who sang that song! I used to love, "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" when I was a kid. It reminds me of Christmas of 1980 when I met the FIRST white guy who I (at the time) believed was the "real" Santa Claus. LOL I think about that "Santa" everytime I hear that song.
