The songs you listened to while playing are remixes of the original songs that were posted on RUclips. I personally prefer the original songs to the remix as they sound way more grim for the setting. Since you already played the senpai week I recommend you go watch those videos and judge for yourself if you're at all curious.
i agree, the original sounded way less upbeat and more sinister which is why i like it

So basically the "corruption" started cus in week 5 there was the head of gf in the tree so someone, being the man that started the corruption, decided to make a mod skin out of it. Then made bf's. Then did pico's. Then moved on the other weeks
The “watchable” weeks are not playable yet, as this mod is just a demo. Though the entire series is on PhantomFear’s channel, I’d recommend waiting until the entire mod becomes playable. You’e in for a treat.

after deleting senpai, go into the "null" week (replaces senpai week), the game will crash, reboot the game and press accept, you must have java installed on your computer... enjoy
For those who can’t or don’t want to do this, it just installs a glitch bf that floats around the bottom of your screen and can climb around and stuff

Curruption mod is not fully out yet as it's just a playable verson of the videos with all of the weeks being already watchable

I know has passed a year after this video but i wanted to explain story anyway.
Lore its in Week 5 Monster/Lemon Demon released the Corruption, corrupting BF and GF, then they corrupted Pico and Spooky Kids, and Pico corrupted Mommy. So now Evil BF got into Hating Simulator to try to corrupt Senpai cheating he as we see in the Senpai Remix song called "Senpai Data", then meanwhile they were singing, the virus was infecting the game making BF and "GF" look creepy, now in "Dead Pixel" Evil BF real form starts loading meanwhile the virus start glitching Senpai who is too scared about all, then in "Treacherous Thorns" Senpai asks BF to leave, but BF starts deleting his files, making his eyes gone up and Senpai and Spirit get really mad and insane. So after the song Spirit shows up and confronts the now totally loaded Pixel Evil BF (who looks like Soul BF but are different entitys), so Spirit wants now to kill BF even if he die trying it so in "Roots" they battle to see who is the last stand, having Bf the victory and returning to the real world, and leaving Spirit there to get deleted.
And then Evil BF meets with DD at the stage and starts the following weeks of DD, Soul, Evil GF, Evil Pico, Evil Tankman and Null recently.
Observation: Gf werent in HS, the one in the game was just a illusion maded by BF to cheat Senpai
It isn't confirmed to be lemon but its a compelling theory
