    I like your list and hopefully Rivian will take many to heart in OTA upgrades. I agree yes a little nit picky so glad you understand that. I would portray the things it does not do as wish list items or needs improvement rather than dislikes because most of the ones you mentioned were things you wish they would have included versus dislikes of how things on the vehicle currently are. Fair statement?

    New RT1 owner here. Just over a month. I wish it had CarPlay. That is a hard one to give up once you are used it. Otherwise so far so good. It is my first electric vehicle. Like the way it looks and the interior is a nice upgrade from the Tesla's I considered. Love you prospective and videos. I find them incredibly helpful as I learn about my truck. Have a great one!

    Great feedback! Really hope they implement these features. Since the video seems like they already updated a few things but still more they can tweak with OTA updates. Thanks for the video Brandon!

    @6:43 - very surprising they haven't fixed this yet give it seems like a straightforward software fix and it has been an issue raised by everyone since day one.

    Let's say I leave my Spotify volume at a level 1, and have my interior lights set to low... Sometimes I'll open up the door after the car sits for a while, and the music plays loud and the lights are full blast for 10 seconds so before they dim down and the music quiets down. Odd glitch...

      I haven’t run into this - weird! That would certainly be annoying.

    • @fmonk

      Is it caused by volume auto-leveling? is it even something that can be toggled on/off?

    Outstanding. I've had my R1T for about the same amount of time (not quite as many miles) as you and I 100% agree with every one of your comments. Spot on! I absolutely love the truck and wouldn't trade it for anything, and I think we agree on that. This truck is the perfect size, smaller than a full-size but larger than a mid-size. It just barely fits in my garage. None of these nit-picks will drive me away from this most awesome vehicle. One thing that I didn't hear in this review is desire for ability to adjust volume of Alexa independently of the entertainment volume. Many times, I have the music volume down for whatever reason and I'd like to use Alexa without having to turn up the music volume. Also applies to navigation volume.

    • @brandenflasch
      @brandenflasch  2 года назад

      Glad you love yours too! I must say, I don’t have any complaints about Alexa other than that I don’t use it at all 😂 I don’t use nav volume either so neither of those have annoyed me

    What I find really cool is that all these little negatives can be addressed in software updates. By the time my R1S order is up for build, I hope most of these issues are addressed including a dashcam and rear camera reverse camera improvement.

    • @brandenflasch
      @brandenflasch  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely. Rivian has also shown they are listening and making improvements.

  • @im4udevco

    I'm surprised at Rivian for some of the things you mentioned have not been implemented (dashcam, Google maps, etc). I believe Rivian has a bunch of folks from Tesla and also drive Teslas and my most of the stuff you mentioned should have been a forgone conclusion. I test drove the R1S last week and had similar observations too. I'm patiently awaiting my R1S and hope some of their upcoming OTAs would address these issues. I really hope someone at Rivian is watching your channel. Great content and thanks.

    Love your videos Branden. I agree with almost all of your thoughts in this one. I suggest you make a video on what Rivian does better than Tesla and vice versa. I have an R1T and a Model X and I was amazed how many things are better in the R1T than the MX. Of course, there are also a lot of things that Tesla does better than Rivian. A video like that would give both companies some things to work on, and some things to pat themselves on the back for.

    • @brandenflasch
      @brandenflasch  2 года назад

      That would be a great video, though to make it accurate I think I would need to spend at least a week in a fairly recent Model S or X. My Tesla experience is a bit outdated.

    Great suggestions! I thought a Valet mode might be nice that limits top speed to 20 mph/torque output/acceleration rate to limit valet joyride in parking lots. Also maybe a spring to pop out the gear tunnel doors out a bit more. Lastly, gear guard could use front windshield camera instead of front grill. It is a it harder to identify folks by their crotch.

    I agree with you on the top speed. I use Yelp, instead of Google. I agree with the speaker going in back seat too. You have to add cell service, to the vehicle, to be able to view the cameras on your phone. Probably not something they want to get into this early.
    It's a shame Rivian didn't come out of a free market system, but so it is-- the world today.

      No one complains about manual vents on a Rolls Royce.

    • @curtisbme

      No, no one would complain about that as it would require a single person, besides Musk, to say they actually prefer having to dial it in via a touch screen vs just reaching up and manually adjusting it.
